"Honey Cream" thumbs down
submitted over 9 years ago by homerghost

I just morally need to give a warning to any users who read the TFA recipe list and spot the enticing recipe for Honey Cream.

  • Honey 5%
  • Bavarian Cream 5%
  • Ethyl Malto (10%) 1%

It even appears twice on the recipe list and I was drawn in and I couldn't resist. It claims it's "so simple and so delicious" but it tastes like vaping a uranium throat sweet and the honey is just way too overpowering. I even like overpowering flavours but it's sickly floral and unpleasant. My girlfriend said "what the hell is that smell', poor girl thought she had woken up in a beehive.

Mixers beware.

Minus five stars!!

Honey is best at 8%, the Bavarian Cream is way too high; try 1% and it should make it delicious.

I'm so intrigued by this statement and its upvotes, all I can taste is throat smacking floral honey cat piss with my 5% blend!

8% honey and 1% bavarian cream? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Either this is voodoo magic or y'all are playing a practical joke! I'll give it a try with 10ml or something but I'm genuinely curious how this is possible? :)

I used it as 4% honey and 11% Cubano and still smell like piss all over the house, so 8% is probably a joke.

I'd be inclined to think it was a joke but two seemingly reputable people have said similar things now!

Try lowering the bavarian cream, it mutes all the higher notes in honey and leaves only the base floral notes. try like

  • TFA Honey 9%
  • TFA Bavarian Cream 1%

This is bananas, I'd have attempted the exact opposite! I'm a noob mixer so I do have a lot to learn. I'll give this a try tonight

I'm so confused, does this actually work or is this some joke everyone is in on? Haven't I suffered enough? I'm just going to bury this Honey shit in my garden and let future generations deal with it

Also, WOWOWOWOWOW just looked at the list where he got this recipe, and whoever submitted them is either a fucking dick, or functionally retarded.

It's /u/intercreeping's list/thread, blame him.

Also 2 year old thread, welcome to the Age of EgoTwists.

I found that thread on the sub sidebar. I was so confident it was going to be delicious, I mixed up 100ml :( I'm going to force myself to vape it all just to punish myself for my naivety

That was punishment. this is a direct quote from the ECF page where the recipes were taken:

>Hi michaelsil1, this is what I have come up with so far, it's one of my all day vapes. Strong earl grey with a sweat after taste.

>60% pg 40% vg

>13% earl grey

>8% honey

>5% bavarian cream

>4% sweat cream

I mean, he's right about the sweat aftertaste.

Can there be a third option?

I was meaning the people who originally posted the recipes to ECF, not you darling <3

That's an abuse of my priveleges. I wish I could though.

TFA Honey? Sucks no matter what imo, and Iirc it is used in fractions of a percent.

Idk if other people are being sarcastic in here, or if you are using a different brand honey, but yeah the recipe you posted is unvapable.

No Shit, right? I have tried tfa honey at .25% and still couldn't vape it. I've got a full 8ml bottle that I will never use.

Nope. I think tfa honey ruined me for a while. Next order maybe. I would like to try a good honey flavor. Imagine a (good) honey flavor added to a toasted oats flavor, a la honey nut cheerios. Hmm, Cheerios.

I like to use the honey at about 10-12% in my honey cream recipe. It's delicious!

Pick up FA or INW Honey and use either at <1% with Bav Cream at 1-2%. Add a little FA Catalan or Fresh Cream to accent creaminess. A little Vanilla or cinnamon to add some depth.

Just bin the TFA Honey and never look back

I hear Flavorah's Milk & Honey is a good honey, but I can't attest to it. Something to look in to if you want a good honey!
