i kinda just chose flavors i was familiar with and made educated guesses on the amounts. i was tired of the "standard" strawberry mixes out there so i broke out FA strawberry because in my notes from when i first started mixing over a year ago says " jelly-ish" and a touch of ripe to give the illusion of some strawberry chunks.
the cream mix of FLV Vanilla custard, TFA bavarian cream and TFA whipped cream make up the cream filling. i feel this is the part that needs the most work. again good and vapable but not quite a nail on the head for a "doughnut filling" . im look for a puddingy bavarian custardy vanilla cream taste im after. its just that i use the same flavors so much, im trying to shock my pallet i guess. so i was trying to avoid CAP vc1, vanilla swirl, fresh or sweet cream because i use them in so many mixes. but its very possible they could work out better and im just being difficult
the doughnut is just a shot in the dark because im not as familiar with them. TFA frosted doughnut is very heavy on the glaze and cap is a bit more rounded and has a bit more dough. the CAP cake batter was supposed to weight it down and give it a bit more doughyness but im not sure its quite at home here. the next mix i plan on adding FW yellow cake to replace this or maybe leave it out entirely to see where it goes.
steep time is at least a week, the batch im vaping right now is probably closer to two weeks and i really like it. its not exactly that "nail on the head" strawberry cream doughnut i was looking for but its at the very least a strawberry pastry vape that i cant seem to put down.
id love to see what yall think, enjoy!
For convenience:
Ingredient|% :---|---: Bavarian Cream (TPA)|2 Cake Batter (CAP)|0.25 Frosted Donut (TPA)|1 Glazed Doughnut (CAP)|5 Red Touch (Strawberry) (FA)|0.5 Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)|3 Vanilla Custard (Flavorah)|3.5 Whipped Cream (FW)|3
I'm on mobile a lot and don't like having to follow links to recipes.
I'm happy with glazed doughnut around 2%, 5% seems a bit too high for me. Maybe try dropping that to 2-3%. Adding a little cheesecake graham crust or NY cheesecake would give it a little tang and help meld the flavors a bit more, like 0.50%-1% all you need. If you have flv strawberry it is a really nice fit with strawberry ripe and the jammy note turns the profile a little more into a jelly filled flavor, which is fun.
Looks pretty good though.
