Flavour Substitutes
submitted over 9 years ago by fablliott

So i live in a country where vaping is actually restricted and people are selling juices and vaping gear for literally 3-5 times the actual price (ie; 200 local dollars for an ipv 4s - works out to about 139 usd) and so i decided to get in on to the DIY scene. As vaping is illegal, many popular flavour vendors aren't allowed to be shipped in and will be seized at customs, and the only brands i can find are CAP/TFA (a very limited selection)/FW/LOR.

I ordered a bottle of vanilla cupcake and apple pie (CAP), and mixed my first diy juice and was pretty pleased that it was actually decent. I did some research and found a few recipes i felt would suit me for my adv but many of these flavours would probably be seized if i tried shipping in, so i was wondering if anyone knows of any substitutes for these flavours? Joy (FA) Biscuit (INW) Vienna Swirl (FA)

Was thinking of maybe subbing sugar cookie and a drop or two of butter cream to get the buttery consistency for INW's Biscuit and maybe graham cracker and a few drops of vanilla cupcake for FA's joy since i heard its more of a pastry-like flavour, any idea if these will work?

I can't speak for the others, but FA Joy is like cotton candy with a light pastry flavour. I'd say closer to cotton candy than pastry, so I'd probably go for more of the vanilla cupcake than the graham cracker.

so something like 3 drops of vanilla cupcake to 1 drop of graham cracker? or should i try adding a drop of cotton candy (not sure if theres a CAP/FW flavour for it) to the mix?

That sounds like it'd work! Give it a try and see how you get on, if it tastes good, who cares how close it is to the recipe? It might need some EM or cotton candy for the sweetness, though that might be covered by the cupcake, but I haven't tried either so I couldn't tell ya.

Can't you order direct for the manufacture and ask them to put a label on that says for cooking/baking/ice cream making etc only?

Singapore?

i've been thinking about that but an acquaintance i spoke to mentioned flavours from FA/INW are known for the association with ejuices so its going to be much tougher despite the label, ill probably do a small test order to see if it'll work but if it fails its lost money on shipping :/ and yeah, spot on.

http://www.capellaflavors.com/

Their website looks 100% for making drinks and food and nothing to do with vaping. Maybe you could try and argue that if they seize it.

Capella is generally ok but it's more of FA & INW that are hard to bring in!
