Hello folks, I would like to release a recipe that I've been holding on to for a while. It originally started off as something I wanted to randomly throw together, but the mix started to grow on me. Around Christmas time, it became my ADV and I could not get enough of it,
Ingredients|Percent| :---|---: Blueberry (Flavorah)|2.00% Wild Blueberry (The Flavor Apprentice)|3.00% Peppermint (Capella)|2.00% Sugar Cookie (Capella)|0.50% Sweetener (The Flavor Apprentice)|1.00% Vanilla Swirl (The Flavor Apprentice)|1.00%
Flavor Notes
Both the FLV Blueberry and TFA Blueberry Wild, to me, are a perfect match and taste like the closest thing to a freshly picked blueberry. I have not toyed around with any other blueberries, but I don't believe I would need to. You could sway the percentages to get a slightly less candy flavor.
CAP Peppermint appears to be a simplistic flavor to work with, so there really isn't too much to say about it. You could cut it down to 1% to get a more subtle peppermint taste, but I was shooting for a candy cane amount of peppermint,
CAP Sugar Cookie and TFA Sweetener gives the blueberry mix the little extra to give a candy taste. From my taste buds, the low percentage of CAP Sugar Cookie only presents a slightly baked sweetness instead of a total cookie taste. It could be considered optional, but I prefer it.
TFA Vanilla Swirl at 1% adds a touch of creaminess that brings the entire mix together. Adding too much could cause the vanilla to become too potent.
I believe the flavor is at the peak after 1 to 2 weeks of steeping, however, it is just as tasty after a mix and quick shake. The added time will allow the blueberries to mellow out and mix beautifully.
Enjoy! :)
Thanks for sharing! My go-to has always been 1:3 ratio of peppermint and chocolate. I love the throat hit of peppermint, so I'm def making this next!
What chocolate do you use? I just got INW Chocolate Cream today and have heard good things. Gonna try a mix with FW Candy Cane.
I actually make an andes mint batch then mix that (3:1) with batched peppermint juice. All my flavors are TFA, and the andes mint is double chocolate, milk chocolate, cream de menth, koolada and sweetner. Its a pretty basic recipe i found on this sub, Im sure you could find it!
Interesting, blueberry and peppermint is not something that I feel I would enjoy but a lot of things that I love are also things that I didn't think I would like. I am a sucker for blueberry though and have everything so I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
Speaking of things that don't really go together, I'm currently working on a watermelon mint thing. Hopefully when it's where I like it, I'll post that one too. :)
When I was still buying juice, one of my favorites was a "candy cane" type flavor from a local shop. I was chatting with their mixer one day, and she let on that there was actually more blueberry flavor in that mix than peppermint.
Knowing that, this sounds righteous.
