- Banana Cream (LA) @ 7%
- Caramel Candy (TPA) @ 4%
- Cheesecake Graham Crust (TPA) @ 2%
- Graham Cracker Clear (TPA) @ 1%
- Sweet Strawberry (CAP) @ 3%
- Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA) @ 3%
This is my first recipe, and it turned out to be an ADV. I went through 5 versions of it before arriving at this one. My goal was to make a juice that tasted just like fried bananas with vanilla bean ice cream. I used to eat fried bananas at this small Chinese restaurant where I grew up. Somehow this recipe ended up tasting almost exactly like the dish they served at the restaurant.
I came upon these percentages based on the average percentage used and other user's notes on ELR. The flavors themselves came from my experience of vaping other recipes and experimentation since I started DIY almost one year ago. However, this first revision was overpowered by the TPA Cinnamon Danish even at .5%.
I got rid of the TPA Cinnamon Danish, and the recipe was lacking overall, not enough flavor and I felt something was missing...
I remember that the dish at my nostalgic restaurant was served with vanilla bean ice cream. I added it at 3% and the recipe finally began taking form.
From here on it was just adjusting percentages to taste...
I still feel the need for improvement, but right now it satisfies me with a velvety cloud of fried bananas with vanilla bean ice cream topped with caramel drizzle.
Let me know what you think! I feel like I owe this community and ELR a lot. I have benefited greatly from all of the discussions, flavor profiles, and recipes available. Hopefully posting this recipe will help me give back a little something to someone.
Sounds solid!
I've been wishing for a fried plantain vape for years. I'll try this and see if it hits my special spot.
Steep time? PG/VG? Your nic level?
I did a quick 5 minute heat steep then shook and vaped it. However, it does smooth out after 1-2 weeks steep, perhaps even diminishes in flavor. My nic level and PG/VG are on the ELR link for version 5. Let me know what you think!
Oh there's a link, ha. Browsing on e-ink so I don't see colors and stuff.
I actually found a vendor for a plantain concentrate & I thought I bookmarked it but alas, I didn't. Will try to dig it up again for you, tho.
3% Banana Cream Pie NN
1% Banana MF
.1-.3% Caramel MF
.75-1% Toasted Marshmallow TFA
That should be a pretty good base for something close to fried plantain, maybe a dash (.2 - .5%) Brown Sugar TFA or a slight bump in the TMarsh for slightly more baked/toastedness. Maybe .1 - .3% FA Joy for friedness.
You are awesome. I've been begging to CO2 extraction houses to do a plantain (and a key lime!) but the engineering costs are extravagantly high.
I'll try this recipe out next weekend, leaving for my cruise today and going to read a lot of fiction books.
<3 if i can't find the correct key words in google I'll have to go back through my PM's, maybe as far back as 6 months or so. I was searching for a different flavour & happened upon plantain & dozens of other uncommon flavours i was intrigued by/wanted. I'm pretty sure it was done by a CO2 extraction house too, because I vaguely remember the flavors being natural. Guess we'll see.
Hope you have fictional & nonfictional fun!
I'll have to switch to tfa banana cream and regular caramel but I'll try this when I get home. Sounds delicious. Thanks for the post
might want to add some:
- bananas foster
- banana nut bread
- liquid amber
This sounds great and am definitely gonna give it a try, only no CAP Sweet Strawberry.
I've instead got TFA Strawberry (Ripe) & TFA Strawberry, thoughts on which would work best?
I noticed that you did originally start with Strawberry Ripe, any reason for changing it?
I switched to sweet strawberry(cap) because the strawberry ripe from tpa was not strong enough. I needed something to help bring out the fruitiness of banana so I tried a different strawberry and it worked.
To replace the cap sweet strawberry I'd try a combo of strawberry ripe (tpa) @ 2% and strawberry (tpa) @ 2%.
I hope it turns out okay. Let me know your thoughts.
Wow, this does sound excellent , i noticed the Caramel candy is a lot different than regular caramel .
