Hi all, so, this is the beginning of an experiment to see what happens. We just released a brand new flavor on Gremlin Juice called Pegasus. I have always suspected that giving out the recipe for a juice flavor would not impact sales at all. The way I see it, those that buy juice rarely make their own, and people that make their own rarely buy it.
So... if you want it pre-made, you can purchase this over at gremlinjuice.com - other wise, here is the recipe...
Pegasus
Cinnamon Danish - CAP - 9%
Biscuit - INW - 4%
White Gremlin Mix - GJ - 4% (Substitute for TPA Vanilla Cupcake)
Apple Pie V1 - CAP - 3%
This does total 20% flavoring.
Sorry if I formatted wrong, I'm not used to posting recipes, but I'm thinking that this may be one of many to come. We shall see!
BTW, White Gremlin isn't as simple as Vanilla Cupcake, but honestly, I think it would be close enough if you didn't want to buy the mix from us, I think you'll be just fine.
I agree with this philosophy 250%. In fact, I never once have relied on secrets to protect my business interests. All of my work is released to the public domain for repurposing by anyone, they can even resell "my" creations for their own profit without attributing me at all.
In the long run, it's made me MORE profit than if I tried to keep it a secret.
Since I have no way of mixing this, I'll go ahead and order some and report back.
Thanks for sharing!
Whether this is a way to get us to buy White Gremlin Mix or purely you just sharing the recipe, I appreciate it!
And actually because you did this I will go to the site and buy something for the first time now.
Sometimes creating a good customer-business relationship is based on mutual respect. That's at least how I operate. If I respect you as a business, and I feel you respect me as a consumer, I will certainly be much more willing to support you!
Thanks.
I'd be interested in hearing how this experiment goes so I'll be watching. I'd like to see this kind of transparency become more commonplace, not for the recipes (though that's good too) but to counteract the idiots that tell me "But you don't know what's in it!"
I LOVE talking to people that tell me that. Most of the time I let it go, but now and then I'm in a mood to debate with them. Most of the time I just lump it in with religion and politics. Just another topic that I don't want to talk about. Those people have made up their mind and nothing you can say will change it. Even explaining that going to a show and they use a fog machine... YOU WERE VAPING! BWAHAHAHA
I've found that telling them it's just PG, VG, food flavorings, and sometimes a tiny bit if nic usually just causes their eyes to glaze over.
I've changed a few minds, but most don't want their beliefs shaken. I think they know that would mean whoever supplied their bad info was wrong. Can't have that. :P
Is that a White Gremlin hint? Hmm...
Well... when I decided to post the recipe, I had completely forgotten that we used White Grem for part of the mix. We VERY often will use an existing recipe for new recipes. Vanilla Overload is used as an ingredient a lot for things that I want a nice Vanilla flavor. White Grem appears in quite a few as well.
So, the short answer is yes, it can be taken as a White Gremlin hint... but the cupcake is only 50% of that mix. :) Maybe I'll release that recipe sometime soon too.
So in other words, you're releasing a recipe, but keeping some ingredients secret? ;P
I like the general intent, though. If it's just as good when using Vanilla Cupcake (TPA) then great :)
Honestly, I didn't remember that it had White Gremlin in the mix until I started typing this post.. and instantly was forced to decide how best to deal with it... As it is half Vanilla Cupcake, just using that will make this a good juice, as it was used to give a nice bakery feel along with the Biscuit. Assuming this goes well, I think releasing the White Gremlin recipe would only be fair. In hind-site, if I had just kept my mouth shut and factored in the ingredients, it would have just made this look like a much more complex recipe than it really is. :)
White Gremlin is my favorite flavor from you guys. Always used to pick it up with my orders and now I pick up the concentrate when I order DIY. I would freak if you did that. Hopefully your experiment goes well. ;)
Also I've actually done the same thing with your Vanilla Overload. I made a custard a while ago that I used it in since its already a complex vanilla. Turned out pretty good from what I can remember.
I just checked and I've never had ANY Gremlin Juice except the one that came in the AOTJ box set -- and I actually didn't dig it very much (Gremlin Gold maybe?). Not my palate.
But I've excited to try other ones, so I snagged the Vanilla Overload along with Pegasus. I VIF's the one Gremlin I tried and the guy who got it loved it, and so did his girlfriend and son. My loss, I guess.
Welcome to the cool kids club <3
Took ya long enough! =P
You will be quite happy with your decision I believe. I don't sell much more in terms of flavor concentrates with most of my recipes being public, but it certainly doesn't hurt sales of pre-mixed juice.

Is Cinnamon Danish the same as Cinnamon Danish Swirl? And if it is, isn't that a metric fuck ton of this overly cinnamonny flavor?
Good catch, it is indeed Cinnamon Danish Swirl. And the beauty of DIY is that if it's too much for you, don't use as much as I do. :)
But of course...
I'm wondering if my "issues" with CDS stem from a lack of lengthy enough steep time...
Possible, I really fell in love with this flavor fresh made, but after a week or so of carrying it around in my pocket (My personal favorite aging technique) it really developed a warm flavor. I do you you might benefit from less than I like though. I LOVE cinnamon flavor so my measurements may be a bit abnormal. :)
