Do you need a quick, dense, cakey coconut chocolate cupcake? Look no further then Rumpelstiltskin.

Time to share another recipe, this one hasn't actually gone under nearly as much testing as some of my others. Mostly just because I keep burning through every mL I make... Super quickly, lets start with the recipe:

Vendor|Flavor|Percentage| :--|:--|:--| FLV|Chocolate Deutsch|1.75%| CAP|Butter Cream|2.50%| TPA|Hazelnut|0.50%|

FLV - Chocolate Deutsch: This is the star here, its crazy chocolatey. It holds up to higher temperatures allowing for a deeper, denser chocolate flavor. To add to this, it has just the right amount of sweet coconut to make you think "coconut flakes". Its not overbearing, nor is it way too subtle. Lastly, it has a ever so slightly moist cake base. If FLV released a version of this cake base without the chocolate or coconut, it'd make everything so much easier...

CAP - Butter Cream: This has two roles. Its sweet and creamy, it combines a little bit with the coconut to give you that coconut filling you get from a german chocolate cake. Additionally it moistens and sweetens the cake base and acts exactly as it should. Overall it adds a sweet frosting feel/taste.

TPA - Hazelnut: This is a go to for chocolates for me. Adding a little bit balances out the generally more harsh notes, and brightens the chocolatey feel. I've also found it kinda adds to a nutty feel to that filling between the coconut and butter cream. If this didn't add it, I'd be looking towards a walnut flavor but with this mix I can't imagine I'd like it more.

Overall, this is a dense, chocolate, coconut cupcake with a sweet butter cream frosting. Its simple, doesn't need a steep time. (Not that I've made a batch that has lasted longer then a day...) Mix up a batch and you'll be thinking you can spin gold. :)

O.k. I have to admit, I am a native German and trust me, there is no coconut filling in a German chocolate cake. Never ever. And I am not sure, what Flavorah is trying to say with "Chocolate Deutsch".... :D But I am willing to try your recipe :D

TFA Hazelnut and Chocolates were made for eachother. You're 100% correct about that.

My preferred ratio is 70vg/30pg. Try it at your own favorite and see.

Do you find yourself using FLV Chocolate Deutsch fairly often for a variety of different profiles, or does it have kind of a one note, "preferred mix" flavor? It sounds interesting.

I'm not sure that it has the same versatility that say, CAP Chocolate Glazed Doughnut does. It really is a coconut chocolate cake.

I haven't tried using it in much else yet, so it could be quite useful elsewhere. In fact you've just given me some inspiration to add BlackBerry/raspberry or something.

Ugh, that sounds delicious. Well if nothing else, I want it for a combo with raspberry now. Thanks.

I tried using it to add some background chocolate notes at like 1/2 drops in 15ml, and it ended up being mostly what I tasted. It's good, but unless you want that specific flavor in a recipe, I don't see it being very versatile.

This sounds nice, and at only 3 flavours is cheap as chips to try out. Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere to buy FLV Chocolate Deutsch in the UK - anyone have any pointers?

It's the coconut subtle or pronounced? I love chocolate but chocolate and coconut while still great isn't as appealing to me.

Its a very clear coconut, there's enough coconut in there that you wouldn't be able to use the chocolate deutsch as a chocolate base.

Its not overbearing though. I'm not a huge coconut person, and this is very pleasant.

Fuck it, I'll give it a go, maybe be able to fix it up to my liking if it's too much for me

The FLV chocolate is amazing. No need to vape low watts for it to taste like chocolate. I vape 100+ and that flavor is amazing.

Darn this looks tasty off to order some more flavors. I hear so much about AP addition to chocolates. I haven't done any of these types yet. What are your thoughts about adding AP ? Not so much to this recipe but in general?

Just tried this, waaaay more coconut than I was expecting.

It's not terrible, I just can't see myself Vaping this that often. Maybe I can modify it a little to reduce the coconut by layering more chocolate into the mix.
