I see this feature on many subreddits,
here's an example from /r/hearthstone
here's another example from /r/electronic_cigarette
I figure we could implement a system here where [[VENDOR FLAVORNAME]] will bring up results in e-liquid-recipes, or the vendor's site or a description of the flavor.
Thoughts?
I have the resources and knowhow to make a bot (and the time, considering I'm currently unemployed), but I don't spend enough time here to know all the resources for recipes, other than what's on the sidebar. If someone wants to reply and/or PM me, we can work together to hash one out.
Very kind of you to offer your time to this! Paging /u/skiddlzninja
I tried to implement this(it's literally what flair is for.) and people hated it.
the easiest thing to do would be to make it so that whenever i type [[TPA Marshmallow]] the bot searches this page with my query and link to the flavor with the highest amount of recipes.
I would love to see a system like this implemented but my concern is whether or not it would really be worth it. How relevant would the information pulled be and how potentially useful would it be?
It could link to elr?
...and [[ Strawberry (TFA) ]] would link to 4 million strawberry cream recipes, more than half using two ingredients at 35% or more flavoring and single flavor recommendations starting at 18%.
Juicedb's bot is tied to one central place and I would think would be a lot easier to do than your idea, but yeah I could see people adopting it real quick like db's bot. So when throwing out a recipe just add potentially something like this:[[Butter Cream (CAP)]]
Suggestions re: what info to link:
/r/diy_ejuice mentions in the past n months (perhaps only those containing it in the main post and/or in more than X comments; and perhaps default sorted by useful criterion like number of comments or length of post/average comment)
/r/diyjuicerecipes mention (similar limitations)
Ingredient list page (at least for TFA; if not a PITA to implement)
pertinent "flavor of the week" threads
substitution possibilities (not sure a central source of these exists)
Example:
[[Strawberry (TFA)]]:
- The Flavor Apprentice - Strawberry
- 45 recipes with primary ingredient (>10%)
- 120 recipes with secondary ingredient
Popular Flavors:
-
Strawberry Smoothie
-
10% Strawberry (TFA)
-
5% Sweet Cream (TFA)
-
...
-
Strawberry Watermelon
-

ehh...am I crazy or are you lot? Neither the hearthstone (p.s. fuck that game) nor the ecr link worked... All I saw was [[TEXT]] no popup information or anything...am I missing something?
