OK new mixers, this is your thread to ask any questions you want of the DIY eJuice community. All posts are allowed, but we still encourage you to use the sidebar and search features before asking any questions.

  • Placing your first DIY order and want to make sure you have all you need?
  • Not sure about how to mix your first bottle?
  • Want to get started but aren't sure how?
  • Any other questions? ... then this is the thread for you. FWIW, the answers to the first three questions will eventually be found in the wiki (still in development); link at the top of the page.

Going from 50/50 to max VG, what would be an appropriate increase in flavour % to counteract muting? (using TFA dk tobacco and TFA blueberry wild)

Everyone is different. My suggestion? Negligible. Try the same recipe with different ratios. You'd be surprised how little it changes.

I'd leave the percentages the same, and increase the steep time a bit.

Been 3 weeks steeping. Smells good, but can't taste anything, even after 2 days of vaping nothing at all. I have put an extra .5% and going to give it a few more days. (that will bring it up to 5.5 dk tobacco and 3.5% blueberry wild)

Would a person new to DIY be making a mistake by purchasing the D.I.Y Starter Kit from Liquid Barn?

I would also pick the 48mg Nicotine PG, and do the 500ml of VG / PG option. I was also thinking of throwing in some extra VG so I could play with high VG blends.

Good idea? Bad? The Reddit coupon knocks off 15%. Hopefully shipping isn't too much.

In my opinion, any kit is a mistake.

It gives you flavors that aren't used outside of the kit(you won't find any recipes using Liquid Barn flavors) and the nicotine is generally not the best. On top of that, you'll want to go to mixing by weight as quickly as possible, since it's easier and quicker than using syringes and mixing by volume.

I'd suggest going through the DIY beginner's guide in the sidebar, along with multiple recipe threads to find recipes you want to make. Then just go to bullcityvapor.com or ecigexpress.com and buy individual flavors that you'll actually use and enjoy as opposed to one-off flavors that are only good for one thing.

Skiddlzninja has some good points about kits. The only reason why I think the LB kit is good to start with is that a lot of their flavors are great as a solo flavor. So for a beginner they get everything that they need to start, and can make simple flavors that taste great. After that comes the fun of venturing off to find and make your own recipes.

edit: but if you know what you want. Just order products seperately. No reason to get a kit, unless what they are offering is what your looking for.

Is there a place that sells MEG free PG O_o

Considering they're the exact same thing, no.

But you can usually find MEG free PG in the vacuum of space or some labs that study vacuums.

Glycerol AKA Vegetable Glycerin? I don't think so. MEG is a poison. It is sometimes found in PG as a contaminant.

You stated PG in your question. PG is Propylene Glycol, AKA Methyl Ethyl Glycol(MEG), AKA Methyethylene Glycol, AKA C3H8O2. These are all the same thing.

Vegetable glycerine, AKA Glycerol, AKA Glycerine, AKA C3H8O3, is completely different than PG.

Ethylen Glycol, AKA EG, AKA Monoethylene Glycol(not commonly abbreviated as MEG, and not to be confused with Methyl Ethyl Glycol) AKA C2H6O2 is a poison used in antifreeze and other industrial applications. It is not found in any food grade propylene glycol, considering poison is not food grade.

I a m wanting to do diy juice to save my pocket. I already have the supplies in my Amazon shopping cart including a gallon of vg graduated cylinders some syringes at varying sizes. I have to get my nic from a website I'm assuming 100mg. I am not sure where to get my flavors if someone could help. I vape max vg, I have a rx200 with a Clt v3 at or around 100w. I love fruit flavors especially banana. I'm assuming since I do max vg to get everything with vg in it. Any ideas? pointers? shops? This is my first time inquiring so anything helps.

Dump the syringes and graduated cylinders. Pick up a scale that weighs down to 0.01 g and go to e-liquid-recipes.com and pick out some well-rated recipes you want to try. Take that flavor list to gremilindiy.com or ecigexpress.com and get your flavors. Get your nic base from VapeClarity, 100ml/mg in 50/50 VG/PG, since 100ml/mg 100% VG is a pain to work with.

Is there a cheaper nic place?

Cheaper? Maybe. But you don't want cheap nic, it's not worth vaping. Buy quality.

What is the best natural vanilla flavor? I have vanilla swirl and bavarian cream and they are simply mediocre. What are the best subtle yet complex at low percentage fruit flavors? I have TFA Strawberry Ripe, TFA Blueberry Wild, TFA Blueberry Extra, TFA Dragonfruit, and TFA Juicy Peach. Juicy peach is the only good one. I want the most delicious realistic fresh pineapple, blackberry, raspberry, banana and other fruit flavors. All I want is to blow vanilla clouds with hints of these complex flavors, my dream ADV is a vanilla base with fresh pineapple, a hint of coconut extra, and some koolada and a drop of wintergreen to send it to the moon.

> What is the best natural vanilla flavor?

This is a completely subjective question.

> What are the best subtle yet complex at low percentage fruit flavors?

This is also a completely subjective question.

I've been buying my PG/VG/Nic from bullcityvapor, and mixing by weight. I'd like to buy yorker caps or something similar, to help with mixing by weight. Does anybody know specifically what to buy to do that, or generally what to search for with regards to specs?
