Let's get creative, guys
submitted over 9 years ago by TechnicolorRainbows

I've been a lurker here for awhile and post on occasion but I want to figure out something new. All I see are things squeezed into a few main cliches like berry blends, muffins, milks (strawberry mostly) and some cereals.

I wanted to see if we could come up with something interesting, I'm trying to think of a flavor that has some layers.

We can start with a basic flavor as a base and move from there and maybe come up with a couple of interesting flavors if we do more than one.

Maybe this will fail, maybe it'll be awesome. I'm just trying to see what we can do.

I've seen threads like this before and the answer was along the lines of that there is only so much food out there, and that's where we look to for taste inspiration, seeing as we don't generally put anything else in our mouth. The other thing is that the above tastes work so well with vaping. There is also the inherent sweetness with glycerine that I think leads to more people taking that sweeter route for flavours.

There is a whole new world of tobaccos that I want to start getting into.

Otherwise, what other tastes are there that wont be awful, or wont be close to ADV worthy. I've tried things like Maple Bacon, and although nice its not ADV and looses its appeal quickly.

I think FA has some sort of Roast Dinner type of Vapes - but, Roast Lamb with Gravy and Mint Sauce - I just don't think it'd be very enjoyable for long.

I guess there's flowers, Jasmine and Rose would be enjoyable if done right.

I can't really think of anything else..

Elderflower, pear, mandarin? Idea from a cocktail I used to make that was pretty good.

Is there an elderflower? I thought there was only an elderberry?

1 part St. Germaines, Splash of Pear Juice, Splash of Nectarine infused vodka, Simple Syrup, top with soda, garnish with candied pear or twist. Great with Tapas style dishes, or in the summer.

Filo pastry, pistachio, honey and probably sweetner?

I agree new flavour ideas/blends/styles are desperately needed. Weekly new mixers thread or monthly recipes would be a great place to start this? There are only so many pinned/highlit posts so you have to choose what fits your subject/request most. There was a discussion, last week, about adding a collaboration thread but reddit being the limitation was the consensus.

Ok so I say pina colada and menthol and champaign but it needs a melded hint of elderflower and anise (both present but not overpowering) and its somehow custard on the exhale?

I'm knee deep in the blossoms:

  • Cherry Blossom
  • Orange Blossom
  • Rose Blossom

and the herbals:

  • Jasmine
  • Lavender
  • Earl Grey Teas

and the sour/cream/fruit mixes.

All are tough to nail, it's going to take a lot of R&D to get it right, since a slight misstep is amplified by the contrasts.

Where do you get orange blossom? My sister's been begging for an orange blossom vape.

I use LA Citrus Blossom in conjunction with TFA Orange Mandarin and it's almost spot on orange blossom water.

TFA Cherry blossom goes great with TFA hibiscus and acai!

try cherry blossom at 1.05% and add .3-.5 EM (depending on the flavor manu.)

I've been feeling the same way lately so I've been playing around with a Peanut Butter Strawberry Jam recipe lately, all of the different versions I've made have been really enjoyable. I'm vaping this recipe as I type this:

80VG/20PG

CAP Peanut Butter - 2.5%

FA Strawberry - 3%

TFA Strawberry - .5%

INW Biscuit - 1.5%

CAP Marshmallow - 3%

TFA EM 10% - 2%

FW Buttercream - 1%

TFA Sour - .5%

TFA AP 5% - .75%

CAP Peanut Butter seems to be pretty strong and can overpower some other flavors so the a few might not be necessary or need not be so high, like FA Strawberry. But it's pretty complex to my tongue, strong salty Peanuts with Strawberry undertones with a thick buttery mouth feel.

EDIT: Added VG/PG ratio

Any idea on what I could sub for Buttercream and Sour?

I have Butter (Cap) and Sweet and Tart (TFA)?

We should brew out of bored some time.

I'm getting Biscuit soon and can try this if those can be subbed.

1 points

by Tyranus2099over 9 years ago

You should be able to sub those in, I'm not familiar with them to give a suggested % but the PB really dominates so I'm not 100% sure how much they're really affecting the overall flavor. lol

I would definitely try TFA Peanut butter. It's a lot more creamy than the Capellas version if that's what your going for. It's closer to the JIF peanut butter at the super market. Cap peanut Butter just tastes like burnt ass peanuts too me. And I've had two different bottles and people to confirm. TFA Peanut Butter is better in the 4% to 7% range. Maybe try a combo of the two? And tell me what you come up with cause I couldn't stand any combos.

Adding TFA PB to my wish list now!

CAP Peanut Butter tastes like burnt ass popcorn to me at any percentage. Try FLV Strawberry for your jam flavor.

I used TFA Earl grey to make a pretty unique flavor profile. You should be able to find it in the contest thread inside my profile.

Essentially, everything is creative before its stolen.

Bronuts was an original, now everyone has a doughnut flavor.

It's a matter of making the next great vape, and then it will get stolen again.

It doesn't matter how creative you get p, because it will be aped and aped until it seems like you are cloning yourself.

I know! You guys could help me clone Mr. Rip's!

Nah, just kidding. But for real, I've been trying for months to come up with something even remotely close. Each idea I have just puts me further away. The only thing I can definitively say is in it would be TPA Kentucky Bourbon.

Here is what I think is a creative idea that I mixed together today.

I call it:

The Elvis

DX Peanut butter TFA 4% Bacon TFA .5% Ripe banana TFA 3% Acetyl Pyrazine TFA .5% Sweetner FW .5%

I have to say it is weird to say the least. I tried vaping it a little bit about an hour after making it and the inhale is absolutely amazing but then the exhale tastes horrible almost like the bacon smells. I wanted to gag a little.

I think if I took out the bacon it would be a wonderful shake n vape but I put the bacon in because it was one of Elvis' favorite sandwiches.

I'm going to give it a week to steep and try it again. If it isn't good by then I'll give it another week and if after the third week it isn't better I'll probably toss it.

I'm most certainly going to make a bacon free version as I have a feeling it will be absolutely amazing.

If anyone has any tips or successful recipes with TFA bacon please share them.

You can always exhale holding your nose, you'll not taste it. lol

I tried that but unfortunately somehow it still lingers on the tongue.

I like some vapes that aren't always at the top of the lists. I am pretty new to this, so they are simpler juices. Menthol, peppermint, blueberry, and banana is a top tier juice. lemon and ry4 is godly, alongside blueberry and ry4. and mixing up inw tobacco symphony, am4a, seven leaves, some tfa ry4, and a little bit of biscuit flavor is a pretty good flavor to me. Hope these help you come up with your own great juices.

Club Soda. I don't even know where to begin...possibly an /r/Deeper_DIY project.

Also, Play-Doh might be an interesting take. I love the smell of playdoh--not necessarily the taste (too salty).

Patchouli is one of my favorite scents, but not sure I'd want to try to vape it.

You wanted interesting, maybe one of these is interesting.

I've had a couple of juices I could have sworn were Play-Doh flavored. They were most certainly interesting.

Lurked and found this old post, random but Club Soda comes through with FA's Oba-Oba flavor a lot to me. It's not strong enough to be a base but it's there.

Maybe TFA Champagne and Oba Oba combined.

try 5%menthol 4%peppermint 3%tfa double choclate clear and 3%VBIC its one of my new favorite creations - mint choclate ice cream.

5% menthol? Do you drip that? I would imagine that much menthol would be brutal.

1 points

by freemason777over 9 years ago

haha yeah, I tend to forget that other people aren't mint-fiends like me. my favorite juice is just an amalgam of all the mint flavors I could buy and some banana and blueberry.
