By popular demand, we are throwing out to the community another of our retired flavors. This one had a fairly short run and, IMHO, met an untimely death. However, there are still some die-hard Algonquin lovers (cough /u/vapemuscle cough) that would not let me rest until this was up.
Description:
A very earthy, dark berry combination. A slightly tart note from the Acai is blended in with the sweet notes found in Lychee. Other notes round this flavor out to truly provide something different from many other juices. This is a new personal favorite of those here at Adirondack Vapor!
Without further delay, I present Algonquin:
TFA Acai - 15%
TFA Lychee - 5%
TFA Plum - 8%
Ethyl Maltol - 3%
These are great, they are very encouraging and serve to remind us that yes, sometimes it is OK to use way more flavor than you think you should. I think a lot of us shy away from going over 15-20% flavor "just because" when there is nothing that says this should be a strict rule.
you realize this is a retired flavor, meaning, it didn't sell well enough to keep around.
I do, it still opens the door for experimenting outside our comfort zone though.
Placid !
Fine - you wore me down. Here is the recipe for Placid:
3% FA puppies and kitties
7% TFA hugs and kisses
3% CASAA/SFATA support
12% Reddit love
1.5% Ethyl Maltol
Dang, We have LOTS of Reddit love in stock, plenty of hugs and kisses, but I'm going to have to re-order the puppies and kittens. Do they HAVE to be FA? The export from Italy on puppies is really high right now.
I can't find any TFA hugs and kisses, would INW Coke and Hookers be an alright substitute?
Acaí is slightly tart & very full-flavoured at 5% standalone....i can't even imagine 15% but I guess I might make a 10ml of 15% acaí in an hour or so...
thanks for blowing my mind again with your crazy looking recipes <3
Not my recipies (well, I guess 1/2 by ownership, not by creation). I have no clue what the mad scientist is thinking sometimes - it just works.
have you found anything interesting to do with acai?
I mean, other than this recipe :D.
I bought it as it sounded interesting, but it just tastes like grape.
FINALLY!!!! I've been slowly rationing my last 250ml order.
Out of curiosity what device are you using for that flavor? 31% flavor seems like it'd blow up your taste buds in something like a TFV4.
See the whole "no more then 20% flavor" goes out the door! thanks to /u/AdirondackDave for sharing. I hope that most vendors will do this as well (cough /u/zerotoleranceftw cough) give the community where they get their ideas and inspiration from something back by sharing retired recipes. /r/DIY_eJuice rocks!
I never put any stock into and flavor caps, you use as much flavoring as it takes to make a liquid taste the way you want it to. Of course you can over flavor using individual flavorings. Consider for a moment that many DIYers got into it because they use high powered devices and purchasing enough liquid for ones needs was cost prohibitive.
Now consider that up until now the vast majority of vapers were using low powered starter kits and us high powered users have been in minority, we probably still are. Making liquids for evods does require a bit more flavoring, some of my early recipes for my wife, from almost 3 years ago, were pretty flavor heavy and had to be modified when she finally made the jump to RDA's from her ego/protank minis. None of them ever hit 30% but they werent that far from it @ 25.5%.
I dont have any of these flavorings, well i have plum and EM, but were i to mix this up for my devices i think that i would play with the %'s.
Another retired flavor ? There is a 1st retired flavor then , i would like to find that one , i need all the help i can get.
