Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of January 08, 2016
submitted over 9 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

Awesome! My first DIY supplies package has just arrived a few minutes ago! These are sort of expensive in my country, so I decided to take it easy on my first purchase, and didn't get too many flavors. I will probably have to stick to 2-3 flavor recipes, but I'm open to any kind of suggestion!

So here's what I got:

FW Orange

TPA Ripe Banana

TPA Strawberry Ripe

TPA DX Bavarian Cream

TPA Graham Cracker Clear

TPA Hazelnut

TPA DX Caramel

I'd also like your suggestions about which flavours and additives I should go for next. Thanks!

Something like 4% Strawberry Ripe, 1-3 drops per 10ml Ripe Banana, 4% DX Bavarian Cream and 1% Graham Cracker will provide a nice baked creamy fruity mix.

4% Graham, 4% Strawberry Ripe, 1% Hazlenut 0.5% Caramel would give a nice strawberry cake thing.

Cool! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them and give you some feedback later!

Update: tried the second one. Damn, this is good stuff right away, pretty tasty shake and vape! Thanks!

Glad to hear it turned out well! Change it as you go, if you think "huh, maybe it needs a bit more strawberry" then up the strawberry. Need more cake? Increase graham. Lacking nutty or baked sugary taste? Increase hazlenut and caramel. Maybe too weak or too strong overall as well, trial and error! Best of luck!

Maybe try something like:
6% Strawberry
1% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
3% Bavarian Cream
.5% Graham Cracker (clear)
1% Cookie (FA)
(Optional) .25% Banana
Could be good! Let me know how it goes if you decide to mix it.

Maybe also:
4% Blueberry (haven't tried this flavor so may need adjusting)
1% Raspberry
3% Strawberry
.5% Dragonfruit
Maybe either .5% Cookie or 1% Bavarian Cream if you want a bit of extra cream layer in your mixed berries.
Happy Mixing!

Super simple dragonfruit and cream.

  • 8% Dragonfruit
  • 6% Bavarian Cream

optional

  • graham cracker clear 2%
  • strawberry 1%
  • dulce 0.2-0.6%

And now Strawberry cheesecake

  • 4% Graham cracker clear
  • 2% Strawberry
  • 1.5% Cookie
  • 2% cheesecake graham cracker

For the cheesecake bit,I haven't played around with this flavour enough. I find it's got a lot of butyric acid so you get this rotten cheese flavour at higher percentages but combining 2-3% of this with 0.5-1% CAP NY Cheesecake works out pretty nicely. That should be a nice starting point though.

I haven't tried Cap lime before but strawberry and lime is a solid flavour pair. Strawberry ripe at about 6%, maybe boost it with raspberry for a deeper berry flavour at 0.5-1%. Add lime until you feel it's balanced with the strawberry

For a light cream mix, try out coconut at 0.5% (might be better to use strawberry but trying to get some variety), banana cream at 2%, sweet cream at 1% and vanilla swirl at 4%. Light, tropical fruity but gentle cream. Good for tanks unlike the heavy cream mixes with graham, bavarian and custard flavours.

Hey, newbie here myself. I read about a mustard milk that uses dragon fruit instead of strawberry, so that would be¨...

  • 6% TFA dragon fruit
  • 8% TFA vanilla bean ice cream

Maybe try adjusting the dragon fruit amount to taste

I inadvertently mixed something like this. I did 4% VBG, 3% DF, and 1% marshmallow. I'm going to up the DF for the next batch, and maybe add some white peach and koolada to it. It's pretty tasty as it is though!

Try adding 1 drop of anise to a 30 ml strawberry cream. 2 if you are feeling crazy. Changes it up a bit and I kind of like it.

You can try a variation of Fizz's Mustard Milk which is:

TFA Strawberry 6%

TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 8%

In your case try something like:

Straw Ripe 3%

Sweet Strawberry 3%

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 8%

Or just completely replace the TFA Strawberry with Strawberry Ripe or Sweet Strawberry. I've only tried Mustard Milk with regular Strawberry, though.

I did that yesterday!

https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/3zvr8b/wanting_to_make_mustard_milk_but_only_have_cap/

Smells amazing!!

strawberry can't really be tasted though :/

Should I up the strawberry or let it steep

4 points

by goldfish18over 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Definitely let it steep. However, you should be able to at least taste some strawberry right off the bat. Maybe try to switch the percentages of the strawberry and VBIC. Also, some people have trouble tasting strawberry and I guess they are referred to as a super taster. I don't know much more about it than that, but search for "super taster" or "trouble tasting strawberry" or something like that and you can read more about it.

I tried a variation of Pink Panther and originally had the strawberry reduced (something like 5% strawberry ripe, 4% sweet strawberry) and I could bairly taste the strawberry even after a couple week steep. The next batch I used 6% strawberry (ripe) and 5% sweet strawberry and after a week it was great with a mild to strong strawberry flavor.

I would try upping the strawberry percents by one, then wait a week and try it and repeat.

But as goldfish18 suggested I would let the original steep for atleast a week.

Another idea is to add 1% dragonfruit. Dragonfruit at low percentages really brings out fruit flavors.

Looks like you're loving your coffee flavours. I still haven't got anything solid down but try this out

  • 0.6-0.8% FA Tiramisu (imo too bitter over 1, maybe 1.2, try it yourself!)
  • 0.2-0.4% FA Espresso (very bitter over 0.4)
  • 1% Vanilla Tahiti
  • Maybe some TFA Chocolate at 2% to boost chocolate aspect
