Does ethyl maltol and sweetener by TFA have a big difference?
Ethyl maltol gives the feeling of sweetness, not real sweetness. TFA Sweetener is sweetness. As in you can literally feel sugar lingering on your tongue.
May I ask, what is the feeling of sweetness? It being a bit cloy on the tongue?
It's hard to explain. Sucralose or sweetener leaves a sugary taste on the tongue and fucks your coils up. EM isn't sweet, though you do feel a sensation on your palette. Sucralose is in your face sweetness, EM is more for adding the illusion of sweetness.
You taste the sweet.
Its kinda the pure essence of sweet, on the tip of your tongue.
I find it stands out a mile off, and never really sits in a mix.
Like putting 4 spoons of sugar in a cup of tea.
Its hard to explain, now that I think about it. Perhaps the difference between a lime hard-boiled sweet and fresh lime juice.
The hard boiled sweet tastes of lime, but it is sweet all over your mouth. Sure, its tart and not bitter, but perhaps its only not bitter due to the sugar.
Fresh lime juice can be quite sweet (as in nice ripe fresh limes, not bitter, but just tart), but its not the same kind of sweetness that you get from a hard boiled sweet.
Same could be said for strawberries, I guess. Fresh strawberries can be lovely and sweet, but in a different way than a strawberry hard boiled sweet.
I prefer Sucralose over EM. EM has a distinctive flavor to it. (which isn't bad, it just may not be what you're looking for) However, overall, I try to avoid both. Sweetener gunks up coils, turns eliquid a darker color (on the wick especially) and can easily overpower your mix. Many flavors already have sweetener in them anyway
