Nana cream muted help
submitted over 9 years ago by atacilProud Sidebar Reader!

I made my first 8oz batch of bombes nana cream from fizzmustard, about a week ago, steeped and bottled in plastic 30ml bottles already, and all sign of life in the flavor is gone :( mixed at 75/25 La banana cream 5% Tfa dragonfruit 3% Tfa strawberry 7%

Shook everyday twice, I hate to see a batch go bad this soon, help Cannot smell any aromas,

Did you use citric acid in it like the original recipe? I found that it made my batch almost flavorless after two weeks or so of steeping. Made a batch without the CA and it held up to steeping very well.

I did not use citric acid, and I made a 120ml batch before this one and it turned out fine at 77/23, I'm pretty stumped

8oz is a shitload of juice to waste. The only thing I could suggest is let it steep for another week or two. If that still doesn't work, looks like it's time to bucket it.

I also didn't not use citric acid and it's held up fine steeping in plastic bottles.

I've made a few 30mls of this recipe during the past year. I don't know why i seem to be one of a small few people that didn't like this recipe. It always had a muted exhale with chemical after taste.

I think I may be a dragonfruit supertaster. All I taste is dragonfruit even when I mix it as low as .5%

I didn't like it either. The dragon fruit tastes like bile to me. Worst flavor I've bought yet lol

It makes sense. I really like this recipe, and think that the dragon fruit make it pop...but there are a few other very popular recipes/flavors that I can't stand at all, primarily the creamy/milky flavors.

Same.. well, TFA at least.

Drink some coffee, and try again.

That recipe doesn't really hold up well to a steep. That's why I made my 'nana cream clone. It steeps much better, and has a bit more complex flavor. You just need 2 or 3 more TFA flavors for it.

Here. I still can't decide if I like the Kiwi Double variation better, though. Both are good!

I'm pretty sure the strawberry is at 7 percent in the original recipe. Did you purposely drop it?

Typo i used strawberry at 7%

Try using Strawberry Ripe at 7%. I've found it pops a little more

Did you heavily shake before bottling in the 30ml bottles ?

Maybe vapers tongue or having a cold ?

I experienced the same , you are not alone. Many strawberry based recipes seem to lose flavor actually .

anyone know if the LA banna cream has Diactyl?

That's the same that I use, though I pretty much always make it 70/30. I usually mix 200ml at a time, so even though I will vape it pretty fresh, it definitely takes me a few weeks to get through an entire batch...and I've never had any issues with flavor.

Maybe you have a cold?

Maybe you are more like me and have a lower threshold for flavor. Get a 30ml and fill it with 25% VG/PG/Nic and put 5% of what you mixed with it. If it has no taste keep adding the flavor base until it is right.

Other then that not really sure. Do you mix by weight?

I don't use plastic so I am not sure how bad they can be for removing flavor. I do know that some can be a bitch to remove the scent from back in my golden vaping days. lol

Everytime I make that recipe it tastes muted after a week. I dont use the Citric Acid. I think its a recipe thats best fresh IMO. Loses flavor quick
