It seems to me that the new juice DIYers are the most impatient when it comes to shipping and tracking information. Could we possibly include something in the Sidebar about not asking about USPS policies, tracking updates, etc? This sub gets clogged every other day by people with the typical, "My tracking update says it's still in Location Name Here and I feel it should have already been in my possession when I submitted the payment."
We get it. You ordered something and you want to see the fruits of your labor. But for the love of god, please be patient and stop asking this community about tracking updates. We are not the United States Postal Service technical support and we do not know where your order is or when you'll be getting it.
Obviously this is a throwaway and I do not speak for the entire community. However, as a frequent contributor and fan of this sub for over a year, I have noticed this sub transform from a beautiful resource for DIYers into a platform for mundane questions and complaints. Don't get me wrong though, there are still a lot of great informative posts on here weekly where everyone can appreciate. Unfortunately, those posts are few and far between. Maybe we can attribute that to the DIY community figuring out so much but we can, and still do, make great strides.
Thanks for listening and thanks for everything.
But but... My wife doesn't listen to me when I bitch about my vape mail taking to long. And non of my friends or co-workers care either. I tried bringing my cat up to speed on the horrible circumstances, but he just sits there with a dumb look on his face.

Does your cat look at you like this lol.
Only when I look at him like this.
Unfortunately, the subreddit hasn't taken nicely to us becoming more strict, so I don't believe it would be a great idea to add yet another rule.
I'd love to see rule 9 be "Don't be a whiny cunt. This is a hobby for 95% of us."
Yeah, but most of those complaints on strictness have been coming from newbies. To be honest, I think "reminding" new users of the Sidebar was never a bad thing. Sure, it would feel like a bit of a slight and yeah, I get that people can get butthurt about it. But taking the acronym from the programming world and telling people to "RTFM" (Read The Fucking Manual) was useful to force newbies to learn the basics on their own before jamming the channels with simple, rudimentary questions.
Our Sidebar reminders are like RTFM. They also not only push the user asking the question to search the answer for themselves, but the slightly embarrassing nature of that comment would hopefully encourage other new users reading to search on their own.
I would reckon that the veteran users of this sub are totally right in being strict about this. They put in the time, energy, money to learn and build up this sub, build up the information in the Sidebar. The least a new user can do is take advantage of that information and take some steps on their own. If they are not willing to risk that, how valuable of a member of this sub will they be, anyways?
EDIT: I think some newbs are confusing this sub with Customer Service, as if they are entitled to ask any numb-nut question and receive a polite answer. Hell, these people should see the Fasttech forums to really see how nasty a true elitist conversation group can get.
I just watched you go from -5 to +4 within 50 minutes, lmfao.
With the down votes you're getting, it seems like several want a stricter sub lol.
Then when you talk about not getting stricter, you get even more downvotes.
Fuckin catch 22
I agree. But the most important rule should be to use upvote/downvote feature. if everyone up votes good posts and downvote bad ones it would weed out the posts we don't see fit. Also people would see what's good and not without hateful or salty comments.
The key to your troubles is acceptance, my friend.
The sooner you accept the fact that nothing you do whether it be: sidebar, bitching, making a throwaway, trying to control the situation, will help alleviate the situation and only aid in exacerbating the condition, the sooner you can enjoy the sub more. You will eventually not even see those posts if you just stop trying to control and simply cease to ignore them.
It is not mere opinion, it is fact. That or, go outside :)
Zen...it's a good thing.
Before anyone asks, no this wasn't my post. :) I agree with it, but it wasn't me. I do work with a LOT of other vendors, and shipping times are incredibly frustrating for us (vendors). It's a lot worse on the Juice side of business by a LONG ways. DIY people are, for whatever reason, a lot more patient and understanding when it comes to this issue. I'm guessing that if a Juice customer runs out, they get withdrawals, but when a DIY customer runs out, they just make a different flavor until the one they want shows up. :) C'mon, I know you have 50 bottles of flavors that you have only actually tasted half of them. hehehe
I ordered a bunch of stuff to get me started and it isn't here yet but I'm not one to complain about that. I have ordered plenty of different things online in the past and have got them anywhere between 1 day (wow) to 8 weeks (it was something cheap and honestly I had forgot I ordered it). While I will admit I check the tracking numbers a lot more than I should, I wouldn't be complaining on here unless it had been more than 2 weeks and the vendor had not finished processing my order yet. If it shipped but had not got to me by 8 weeks I'd be calling the USPS or UPS instead of whining about it on reddit.
Have these people never ordered stuff online before? I don't get it.
All of that being said yes I was running a little low on juice. Instead of getting upset about it I went to my local B&M today and picked up a cheap bottle of their house juice to get me by. They should probably do the same.
Seriously. It's a little ridiculous that /u/gremlinjuice has to tell people when they are closed so people will complain less about how long their order is taking.
Come on people this isn't Amazon Prime
Well if you complain, you should be forced to move to Australia for a little while. Then USPS seems fast. I mean if you order from America, the exchange rate can be nasty. And you're definitely waiting 8 to 14 days.
Auspost is slow at the best of times. And last but not least. It's illegal to buy and sell vape gear in my state. I can buy it in another state and ship it here. I can buy from anywhere else in the world and ship it here, but there is no vape shop for at least 2600km (1615 ish miles) however, I don't complain i just wait.
I used to live in a medium size town and USPS tracking almost always was a day off. It would say online at their site that it was still 1000 miles away and it was in my hands or it would say delivered and it was not here yet and I got it the next day. Since I moved it has been a bit better but still not great. If you are looking on a site other than usps at the tracking info, compare it to usps. Even big sites like amazon will be wrong and out date. Basically you got some real cheap shipping and this is the level of service from that shipping company you get.
UPS is good bit better and FedEx tracking seems to be the best. But the price is quite a bit more and I rather wait the extra day or two usually.
