When I was a kid, my mother used to make a sheet coffee cake with plum and crumbs. The bottom was bready, and and the crumbs were sweet, with only a slight amount of cinnamon. Awesome stuff, not too sweet, and nothing was overbearing. I was using TFA DX vanilla cupcake and NN plum, which wasn't bad, but not really there.
Since I have to put in an order for more CAP custard V2 (so sexy with TFA bourbon, so sexy), I figured I'd throw out a combo and see if you guys with more experience can get an idea of what I'm going after.
INW Biscuit (for a bread flavor) INW Plum (trying for a stronger plum flavor, like Italian plum)
Now for the tricky part, the crumb. I've been thinking sugar cookie or cinnamon churro, but I'm worried that the churro would have too much cinnamon. Haven't seen any recipes for crumb/coffee cake, so I'm open to suggestions.
I'll probably also throw in some DX Vanilla Cupcake, because I seem to add that in just about everything anyway, lol.
EDIT: Just a thank you for contributing to this thread--whether I comment directly or not, I appreciate the time to comment.
I'm sorry I'm too new to diy to help but I have no clue why you are being downvoted. If this isn't the type of discussion that belongs here what is?
I think it's because they have a "flavor reviews" thread in the side bar, and I'm asking about flavors. Unfortunately, some of the flavors involved here (plum) aren't really covered; and I haven't seen a vaping recipe outside this thread that approximates what I'm trying to do.
No big deal, I just wanted a grunt and a finger pointing me in the right direction; I think I have that. :)
Try out TFA Cinnamon Danish, it's milder than CAP and tends to mellow even more after a good two weeks. A crumb mixture is typically a blend of cinnamon, butter, brown sugar, and either oats or flour. If it were me, I'd start with the cinnamon danish, CAP butter, TFA brown sugar, and either TFA oatmeal cookie or CAP sugar cookie, then play around with them. If it's too sweet, use FA cookie instead. Good luck!
Is your mother European by any chance? My German stepmother used to fix this with peaches. I thought it was a German recipe. There is a cinnamon sugar cookie that's light on the cinnamon, but I might would try
FW yellow cake
FLV blueberry muffin
Plum. I haven't used it so can't recommend brand
Cap Sweet Cream
Cap cinnamon sugar cookie (I think that's the brand)
Or use just a touch and I mean drop of FLV rich cinnamon, , it is really great.
Imo, tfa plum is sweet like a candied plum. Inw plum is more realistic, but can easily get lost under stronger flavors. I prefer a combination of the two.
Also a small amount (~1%) of tfa cheesecake Graham crust can add a little flakeness to a cake flavor. I know you want crumblyness (now I'm just making words up) but it might help.
Here's one I've been working on.

Maybe just leave the nuts and lavender out.
Sounds good, and I might try mixing the two plums--a little sweetness wouldn't hurt.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the FA Marzipan? Does it taste like the real thing?
My mother was German, so you might be right.
Actually found a version of the food recipe.
This is basically the same cake we had but I'm guessing my German stepmother couldn't get plums so she used peaches which were plentiful in the south. My American dad had to guild the lily or destroy it, however you look at it, by pouring evaporated milk over it. Don't ask me why. It was plenty moist.
