Watermelon Menthol Recipe Help
submitted over 9 years ago by Jayteo

I have been trying for a while now to make a solid watermelon mint juice. Vapor Trail by Moon Mountain is by far my favorite juice and I'm having a tough time replicating it.

At the moment I only have Watermelon TFA and Koolada. I've tried mixing them in many different percentages but I feel like I'm not even getting close. The closest I've gotten is 10% Watermelon and 1% Koolada but it still doesn't taste right.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Koolada is not mint, simply a cooling sensation. Try mixing Watermelon with Menthol.

I'd recommend adding hint of strawberry. It compliments watermelon very well.

I've come up with a lovely cool melon recipe I enjoy from time to time. Although it's a bit odd tasting as it uses INW Melon instead of an actual watermelon flavor, but that's whats special to me about it.

INW Melon 4%

TFA Strawberry Ripe 5%

TFA Koolada 1%

My first juice ever was a watermelon menthol I had a local shop make me, and still today it's one of my favorite flavor profiles.

Thanks! This seems like a good idea I'll give something similar a whirl. My first ever juice was the Vapor Trail and I can't remember anything ever tasting better than it.

I've been working on this one for quite some time and am a 120ml from sharing on here with the flavor notes. This is a Cactus Melon Cooler. You could omit the Cactus to just have a Melon Cooler. I would just recommend bumping the flavor down a bit though as it adds a juicy feel to the whole thing. that being said, I should have a writeup soon with all the flavor notes since my 120ml is a little over half gone.

1% Cactus (INAWERA)
1% Cantaloupe (CAP)
0.5% Dragon fruit (INAWERA)
1.5% Honeydew Melon (CAP)
1% Jackfruit (TPA)
4% Jungle Juice (FW)
1.25% Koolada 10% (TPA)
2.5% LA Watermelon (colorless)
0.25% Lemon Sicily (FA)
0.5% Marshmallow (FA)
3% Watermelon (Flavorah)
1.5% Wild Melon (Flavorah)

If it actually tastes like mint and not menthol, try CAP Cool Mint or basically any spearmint (TFA/CAP)

The thing is I can't tell if it's minty/menthol or just cool. I'm kind of new to DIY so I'm not sure how to determine what it is.

Well then it's a good thing you decided to start DIY'ing because soon you will be able to :)

I've worked on this recipe for a couple months now and it's my favorite adv, I've burned through a good 60ml this week of it and I'm going to mix another 240 of it tomorrow hopefully. Everybody who's tried it loves it (so far)

8% double watermelon (capellas)
4% unicorn vomit (flavor west)
2% strawberry (flavors apprentice)
1% koolada (flavors apprentice)

I've mixed it anywhere from 50-85% vg and that part really just depends on the throat hit you want, 70/30 seems to be the sweet spot. If you shake and vape it, drop in 1% sour, if you have time to let it steep forget the sour, it won't need it and it will mute the overall flavor.

Thanks, I'll have to order some of these flavors and give it a shot. Sounds really good! How long do you recommend steeping?

It's best after a couple of days, but you can shake and vape. If you do try it out please let me know what you think, I'd really like some feedback on it.

Absolutely. I probably won't be around to get back to mixing for a few weeks because I'm going to visit family and can't bring my whole setup with me. But once I get the chance and try it I'll let you know

I have never tried that flavor, but my "watermelon kiss" is

4% watermelon (cap) 4% watermelon candy(tfa) 2% honeydew (cap) 1.5% wintergreen (tfa) .5% mohito (tfa)

Sucralose

Menthol to taste

Maybe try another melon/honeydew in your recipe?

Kryptonite (Cosmic Fog) Clone by /u/RobocopSuperFan

15% FW Watermelon

1 drop per 15ml FW Menthol

You can try subbing menthol for Koolada, but my experience with TFA Watermelon has never been a good one. I just got FW Watermelon a couple weeks ago and it smells soo much better than TFA.

Thanks, but kryptonite and watermelon Crack always tasted like fun dip to me. The juice I'm after is a much more straightforward watermelon mint.

FA Watermelon is a non-candy watermelon flavor. For mint, I highly recommend FW Spearmint.

I make a juice for a friend that loves watermelon menthol,

18% TFA Watermelon 1.5% Koolada (or menthol)

He swears its the greatest thing he's ever tasted, I think it's pretty good too. I know the flavor percentage is really high but honestly it just seems to work.

I'll give that a shot thanks!

I use 8% watermelon, 0.45% koolada & 0.5% menthol, all TFA.
