My friend's mutation was looking like yours in the photos. I took some polish and scrubbed that nasty looking buildup off in seconds with a clean rag. Washed it really well with dish soap and then rinsed. Bright and coppery looking again in minutes.

As a warning, 409 may have a negative effect on your flavors if you mix too soon after washing the table. I suggest ethyl alcohol; it's probably the best way to get rid of any spilled aroma and VG/PG, since it's used as a solvent for damn near everything.
