After hearing all the hype and clone attempts, I figured this bottle would be one of the top contenders for best cereal ejuices. Looks like it turned out to be a cereal flop! Opened the bottle and took a whiff. First thing I noticed was the strong lemon pledge smell reminiscent of TPA Fruit Circles. Sure, there were some berry and cream notes in the background, but the lemon was so prominent it made me feel like retching.
Next, for the taste test. Dabbed a drop onto my tongue. Hmm, lemon is still very prominent but there's something punchy and sweet in the background. It's definitely not sucralose, but a thick, creamy sweetness. At this point, I was feeling discouraged. From the smell and taste, this was pretty much spot-on Tongue Fuck, which I had mixed and hated.
And then I proceeded to vape it. Holy shit, this is cereasly nasty. I'm completely baffled as to how anyone who knows DIY is willing to fork out money for this crap. It's also has a light gold hue, which means this has been steeping for a good month or two!
TL;DR: Before getting into DIY, I used to think premium juice > DIY juice. After getting into DIY and trying premium juices again, I'm starting to realize it's all label and marketing.
EDIT: I am in no way trying to slander Philip Rocke's or the ANML name. I have a profound respect for juice makers and what they have accomplished. However, my experience with this juice has been negative and I fail to see how anyone can justify forking out hard-earned cash over this...
I've been wondering this. Did we get so good at diy that we make better juice than the old guard of juice companies? I've been terribly let down by most of my juice purchases for the last year and a half and the bright spots have been former diyers that went pro.
I think it's because Looper and 9 South's Cereal Killa were the first "fruit loops"/cereal flavors on the market that gained any traction and raised the profile of that flavor profile. I've tried them both, and they're both okay.
Way back when, it was Honey Pearry and Snake Oil clones. Both are okay juices, both have their great qualities, but I think both flavors became popular when vaping was just burgeoning out from it's more nacent phase into the hype flavor phase, post bobas, pre current availability of more interesting eliquid flavor profiles.
Are there any juice lines that you would recommend trying, even as a DIYer? Just curious. I haven't gotten into DIY yet out of sheer laziness, though I do plan to join the club sometime relatively soon.
I heard 63 Maui was pretty good ;)
Your reddit staples, mostly former DIY'ers are all fantastic - blue dot, BX, centerfold, bigglesworth....
63 Maui has some of the most complex tasting juice I've ever had the pleasure of vaping. Granted I've only tried the Hawaiian line, its still some amazing juice. I wouldn't say any of the flavors I have are an ADV, but I for sure vape them daily. If that makes any sense lol
If you like blueberry muffin/pastry vapes. Cape fear juice Co makes a juice called Front St.. spot on blueberry scone with a little bit of lemon meringue. It's absolutely amazing juice, The flavors are layered but what gets me is texture. They nailed the texture of the scone perfectly
My first inspiration would be 'emperor penguin' by vaping birdy. Man, fuck that juice. It's so good and even after 3 years I have no idea how I'd start to replicate it.
I honestly only care for Nicquid's two 'tobacco' juices Soho and Daybreak. I am always disappointed and feel ripped off when I try any other companies juices.. But for the price of juice, unless it's dirt cheap shop juice which isn't any better than my own stuff personally, I can't buy those with good conscious either. More of a treat type thing, once every 4 months or so. If that.
Now I'm not saying there aren't gems out there, but with my own personal situation in regards to money, I can't justify buying stuff to try because even if I like it I can't afford to vape anything but diy consistently. But that's fine, I love diy and enjoy some of the stuff I make.
As someone who's vaped a ridiculous amount of Looper as well as just about every other recommended cereal vape out there, I think you got a bad bottle or something.
That lemon pledge smell is something I have NEVER encountered with Looper, however is very common with the more "dry cereal" style juices like Cereal Killer, Bird Brains, Loopay Fiasco, etc. Looper should have a much less pungent, and more creamy/fruity smell to it.
The DARK brown color is also pretty suspect, as I've had bottles that were 6 months and older, that at the very most were a deep gold color, but never, never dark, which leads me to believe that either the bottle you have is considerably older than that, or has been tainted in some way like sitting in direct sunlight, overexposed, or not Looper at all.
Now I'm not saying that Looper is the best juice out there, or anything like that (most Phillip Rocke stuff is overrated, Grand Reserve is vile) but having put down close to 100 or so bottles, something is off about what you vaped.
I'd be willing to say he was sold counterfeit juice based off his description. Having tried most of the flavors mentioned in addition to the Breakfast at Teleos most of the looper clones do have a strong lemon profile. The biggest thing that sets looper apart for me is the fact that you can taste the sugar coating of the cereal very distinctly and that profile is missing in every clone.
That's entirely possible. I am missing the sugar coating flavor. However, I think brown was an overexaggeration on my part. This is more like a light hue of brown, similar to most liquids that have steeped.
So glad someone else said this! I'm in your camp man!!!
I also purchased a bottle of Cosmic Fog's Honey and Milk. I've not vaped it yet but I'm hoping it's going to be a significant improvement over Looper.
Milk & Honey is good. It's nothing to write home about, but it is the best flavor Cosmic Fog makes IMO.
Hi guys, sorry to disagree with most of you; for me Loopers is the best juice Ive ever tasted. There are multiple threads about a proper clone but no one gets even closer (as far as I know) Which are in your opinion the best cereal recipes for DIY?
Don't need to be sorry. Everyone has different tastes after all. I would ship this bottle to you for free but I'm going to assume you don't stay anywhere near South East Asia.
The one I tried mixing up was Tongue Fuck by I_seen. Just search for 'Tongue Fuck' in the searchbar.
thx for the offer, yea France is not close to your place :p
The good news for you is that you will not have to pay a fortune for 30ml of juice, Looper is really expensive Thanks for the tip, will check the TongueFuck
Here's a Tongue Fuck recipe - it's nothing like looper though (at least to me)...
If you have the flavors, I'd invite you to try my Cereal Port - I like that better than many of the cereals I've tried :)
Thanks for having the balls to tell us how you really feel about it, although it doesn't mean others don't like it.
Yeah. Just sad cause I blew over 20$ on this and it's gonna waste away in my closet.
I was able to vape Looper once I used half of it into a separate bottle of VG and added a cream base to it. Still wasn't impressed, but it was at least vapable. If you want your socks blown off by a different kind of Froot loops/Pebbles try Slurp by JUS .
I think there must be two ways to get Froot Loops/Pebbles.
One is like a Milk/Tangerine/BlackCurrant(grape)/Pomegranate/Cherry ? The other is more like a Vanilla/Orange/Raspberry-Blackberry/Pineapple ?
I am just making a guess at this from my research so far, After the Holiday I am going to order a few more variations of these flavors to start testing again.
I feel like even using something with a Harsh Lemon taste is just cheating on the mix. All you get is Lemon and you end up with no idea what the berries under it are.
I eat Froot Loops and Pebbles and do not taste Lemon at all. Mostly Sugar and Milk with a Berry Undertone.
There are definitely two ways to get that flavor. Most of the popular ones contain either FE Lemon OR TFA Orange Cream, but not both. Of course, things have changed since FLV Milk & Honey and TFA Fruit Circles came out.
I've never been able to enjoy any cereal flavor that didn't have a citrus undertone. I can't stand fucking TFA Berry Crunch, makes me gag.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan either. Although I think the quality seemed pretty good overall, the flavor just did nothing for me. I feel like if I tasted it without knowing it was a fruit loop flavor, I would never guess it was.
Plus, shit's expensive.
Edit; I've heard good things about Carnage, and I'm sort of curious. But that price tag....NOPE.
Carnage is very easy to clone. 6% red licorice tfa 4% Swedish gummy tfa 1.5% strawberry ripe tfa
It started off as a clone... But its actually way better than the original.
Dat throat hit tho! Carnage definitely tastes mostly of Red Licorice (TPA) to me, I'm still pondering what to add to it, to make it more like Carnage (also throat hit-wise)...
I like the "stuff I make" so much more than the "stuff I can buy" that the latter is not even on my radar. I've bought two bottles in the last 18 months, one because I felt sorry for the vendor after tasting 15 different bottles (at a vape show) and the other because it was legitimately good stuff.
I love it that I can be vaping and think "this could use a bit of X", put a few drops in, and have a better vape.
DIY FTW
If your looking for a good cereal, these guys are great mixers.
http://vp-wholesales.com/straight-outta-cereal
They've got a few lines, all really good. This ones pretty new and unknown.
Try Vapewilds Fruit Hoops, Its pretty good imo.
I definitely disagree with this, its not a convincing cereal flavor. It seems to be just FW fruit rings at 20%.Cuttwoods bird brains is pretty good, but teleos does the best job of making a milky cereal vape IMO. But to each their own!
It's worth bringing up....There is such a thing as oversteeped juice. I've noticed cereal vapes (like tonguefuck) really do have a short shelf life. Being that your bottle was brown it may have been handled improperly (left out in the sun or too hot etc..) Just a thought as to why you had such a negative experience with it.
Idk. This doesn't sound like my experience with looper. I had a similar experience as you with cereal killer and a few other fruit loop/fruity pebble rips. A lot of dry lemon lime but I felt like phillip rocke smoothed over that issue well by putting the more subtle vanilla note in there. Maybe I'm just an amateur but that's my take.

Yes, Looper will make you wonder why people are trying to clone such a thing if you don't like that smell.
If you don't like that smell and DIY you are stuck with few options for a fruity cereal vape. You can go with Jackster's clone if you wish, but I just can't stand it myself. Just an opinion though.
If you want to be blown away by a premium try Slurp and you will realize the DIY scene is far from having a perfect froot loops/pebbles recipe until we clone this one.
You might have a few people talking about Cutwood's BirdBrains, but I doubt they have had Slurp.
One reason it isn't as famous is that the guy makes only that one flavor. I can see why though. He would have to come up with four other perfect recipes to have a juice line.
I feel the same way but not quite as strong, I tried it a week ago and at first it was pretty disappointing, but it grew on me slightly, now its just kinda meh. I'll vape it but I'm definately not gonna pay 20$ for it. The main thing that killed it for me was the lemon, if they just toned that down a bit it would be great
I think a lot of this juice companies that are trying to replicate the fruit loops taste need to understand that the lemon isn't supposed to be the most prominent flavor. It's just something that lingers on your tongue.
Australian here. When I started vaping close to two years ago, I got all my juice from 'premium' American brands because I couldn't be bothered mixing nicotine into local juice (federal and state nicotine regulations mean vendors can't sell or provide nicotine, but it's fine to import for personal usage).
I idolized American juice so much that I saved up and went to ECC in Pomona earlier this year. Spent two weeks in LA visiting vape shop after vape shop. I managed to try hundreds of juices and only a few really stood out to me - most were mediocre and just really well marketed. I brought back about 300 bottles of juice which I mostly gave away.
Frankly I've never really liked anything by Phillip Rocke, aside from Creme de la Creme and 100 Grand (and even those were surprisingly mediocre to me.) Koi was worse: the inhale was kind of a nice coconut/tropical fruit thing, but leaves a weird sunscreen aftertaste.
While I wasn't a huge cereal fan, my favorite is probably Ohm Sweet Ohm by Juicy Ohms. Good stuff, definitely no "Lemon Pledge" flavor.
I wouldn't read into the gold color of it as anything bad. Whenever I whip up a batch of OHW My Man clone it turns a golden yellow after about 4 days. With that out of the way let me say I know your pain lol. TFA fruit circles all the way, so damn lemony and overpowering.
Well this does seem very much like a slander post regardless you're saying otherwise. Two things i want to mention.
1: i am 110% sure that tfa fruit circles is not part of the original recipe.
2: It is deffinetly not compareble to the tongue f.. Recipe. I vaped alot of this juice, including, all different kind of clones and the best ones i've tried doesn't even contain lemon flavour in it. So it makes my ass twitch when people talks about lemon pledge. Have you tried Teleos Milk? That contains fruit circles without a doubt and the you would get the pledge..
However the juice Is NOT supposed to be brownish, i tried that before and yeah the taste was way of compared to when it is light yellowish.. You should try an see if you could get it replaced, maybe see if you could get a taste from a local shop wich have it in a non brownish colour ;-)
I have no reason or motive to shit on Philip Rocke. I don't own a juice company. But I have to be honest, it's a shit juice. And all his pretentious talk about oak barrels and seeing flavours in colors is just nonsense. I was so excited and all of that fell flat when I vape Looper.
Also, as I have specified further down the thread, it's not brown. It's a light tint of brown, similar to a honey gold. It was 3AM and I typed whatever came to mind cause I wanted to sleep.
