Hoping for some advice on a recipe in the making (very simple one)
submitted almost 10 years ago by whateverisfree

Hello!

I'm a rather new mixer and I've just recently gotten some Flavorah Strawberry and some Flavorah Cream in. Basically, I'm hoping to create a simple enough ADV out of the two with a focus on the strawberry side of things. I'm just wondering what I should be aiming for, if anyone has experience with one or both of the flavors.

I'm thinking something like 3%(maybe 4?) Strawberry with 2% Cream. Is any of them too high or too low to shine? Like I mentioned, I want to taste the strawberry but wish for the creamy background to be easy to discover. I realize most strawberries and cream recipes involve more ingredients, but I was hoping to create something here and thought I'd ask for some input.

Thanks in advance and happy Holidays! :)

I'd test each flavor 1% at the time. Sounds like 2% is mild and 3-4% is for those people who like a lot of flavor.

For a 30 ml: 0.3mls of flavor would be 1%

For a 10 ml: 0.1mls of flavor would be 1%

Yep. Definitely looking for a little bit of flavor. The tropical punch juice I've made before has gone pretty much flavorless on me, so it's kind of disgusting to vape it to be quite frank.

Are you a fan of yogurts by any chance?

Haven't tried one in vaping. Might be worth a shot somewhere down the line. If it's allowed next year, of course. :)

One thing that I have learned is that other's flavor % dont always mean that its the same for me. When I recieve a new flavor I will vape it by itself, at varying %. This method helps me to figure out how to use it.

Sorry I didnt answer your question directly, as I dont have exp with either of those. Play around, experiment! Thats half the fun.

Happy mixing and Merry Christmas!

Yep, I'll have to play around and see where I end up. Thanks for the insight and Merry Christmas! :)

4 strawberry 2 cream will be fine and dandy, like candy.

I <3 that strawberry at 4%; its what I use in my MILFs Milk recipe.

Sounds good! I'll try it both at 3% and 4% in small test batches to see how I prefer it :)

Same flavour at 3 & 4%, it'll just be a bit more in your face =]

Aight. I think 3% may suffice. But I'll make small testers of both percentages tonight and see if I feel that it needs the 4% for the bigger bottles. :) Thanks for all the help and happy Holidays!

You will definitely taste the strawberry, flavorah's is quite strong and distinctive. Depends on how you want to taste the strawberry. 2.00% would be a medium flavored chilling adv strength for me, 3-4% is where it becomes strong and in your face.. also where the jammy notes really pops out, which you may like. 3% would be a nice middle ground.

Cream - 1% for lightly creamy, 2% for heavy cream and extra vanilla flavor. I've gone as high as 3% but I start to get a little bit of a muted flavor at that point.

From what you describe, it sounds like a 3% Strawberry and 2% Cream could be a nice try. I'll make a 10ml tester and see how I like it. Thanks :)

The Flavorah strawberry is great but is really jammy so hopefully you don't mind that. In the future though TFA strawberry and ripe are great in all sorts of variations together, throw in some INW Strawberry shisha and you have a natural strawberry. But yeah like everyone else said, cream is light and milky at 1% and gets heavier at 2%. Me personally, I like it in between for fruits and creams and heavy in my cereal mixes.

I see. That's great input. I went for 2% cream in today's batches and the jammy strawberry smells great at least. Hopefully it'll taste nice after some days of steeping too! :)

I didn't read any replies but that's the wrong strawberry. I cannot use it as a main flavor. It's not good to me at all. You should try it at 3% to be sure though. I prefer TFA Strawberry or TFA Strawberry Ripe or CAP Sweet Strawberry (or combinations). A drop or two of FLV Strawberry can fatten up / darken the other 3 I mentioned but I have had zero luck with it as the main strawberry.

That FLV Cream though, YES. I've only been messing with it in small amounts in complex recipes but I bet it would be good as a one-flavor cream base. 2% is a good starting point.

Thanks a bunch man! :)

I basically created 2 samples today - one with 3% FLV Strawberry and 2% FLV Cream and one with 4% Strawberry.

I use it because sadly it's the only one I have at hand tonight and I feel the need to whip something up. I hope I can enjoy it still. Otherwise I'll have to experiment around some more.

I gotcha. You may really like it, at least you will know! I hope they turn out well. Don't be afraid to drop the strawberry to 2% or less if it's too strong for ya. It's a tug of war. Dropping the strawberry will bring out the cream even if the cream stays at the same percentage. I have more luck tweaking a recipe by lowering percentages of the things that are sticking out than I do raising the percentages of things that aren't popping enough.

Yep. Like Enyareklaw said in his beginner's videos - more percents doesn't always equal more or better flavor. :)
