Thanks to all of you, I just made my first successful liquid!
submitted almost 10 years ago by Erik098

I'm sure you guys get this kind of post all the time, but I'm proud of myself and wanted to say thank you!

About a month ago I ordered all the stuff to start doing DIY and downloaded Juice Calculator. Today it finally paid off, I made a juice that was not only vapable, but delicious! Even better, the recipe is original and I wrote it down. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the advice here. Thanks again!

Congrats!

Keep in mind that some flavors will lose their potency when heated too much, and Cap sweet strawberry is one of them. I had been "speed steeping" using the heat / venting method, and noticed that my strawberry was always very weak. Stopped heating / venting, and all my mixes have full strawberry flavor now!

That explains a lot... Thanks! I was wondering why at 7% it was only an aftertaste. Really appreciate the tip.

Wow! I did not know this. I am new to DIY, maybe about a month in, and I just thought that it was me that I couldn't taste strawberry, but I'm able to taste it sometimes. It makes so much sense now! Thanks

Strawberry can be an elusive flavor, some people have a hard time tasting legit strawberry when it's used in a mix. Happens all the time with Cap SS for me. INW Strawberry is the only strawberry that I can taste loud and clear in mixes.

I taste sweeet strawberry but it an off strawberry. Taste kind of bitter and a small hint of strawberry, not really sweet either. It taste bad though. But Im going to try INW strawberry. Thanks for the suggestion.

Copied and pasted straight from Juice Calculator, "Ciles

7.00% Coconut (CAP)

7.00% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)

5.00% Juicy Orange (CAP)

2.00% Koolada

1.50% Marshmallow (CAP)

One hour long water bath and half hour breather right after mix, repeated the nest morning."

It's named after my DK in WoW, and the batch is named after my guild.

The coconut flavor is really weak, so I put in extra.

thats a lot of flavor for my taste, i suggest to change that coconut CAP to coconut extra TPA and drop it to 3% maybe (well that what i would do but if it works for you thats great theres really no wrong way to diy )
