Just got my first DIY kit.
submitted almost 10 years ago by MaelKoth2015Proud Sidebar Reader!

The flavors I selected below-

Baked Cinnamon Roll

Bakers Touch

Banana

Blue Raspberry

Coconut Milk

Pineapple

Lava Cake

Vanilla Ice Cream

Pacific Cooler

Snickerdoodle

First time mixing. I tried Blue Raspberry. 70/30 at 6mg in a 30ML. It's been my ADV since last night. Tastes like a Jolly Rancher.

Now even simple math sometimes is beyond me, but the kit I got was from Liquid Barn thank to a really good review From this guy I simply followed the really good guide and breakdown of mixing, and it took about 30min.

Anyone else with these flavors have a good recipe? I want to try bananna and coconut milk, or just do straight Cinnamon roll as it smelled absolutely delicious.

tl:dr Got juice kit, made really good juice (according to my taste buds), am not too dumb to do it, but was petrified to try, and happy with results. Got Recipe's?

How is the ice cream? Is it close to a real scoop of cold ice cream? Or More on the side of VBIC?

No idea, I just gave him a recipe that should work

Look at the sidebar or use the search bar. Or better yet, experiment and come up with your own recipes.

I've been going through it for a past few days. I think I'm still stumped at how I'm supposed to know what percentage of the flavor to add if there are multiple flavors. Trial and error seems to be the best answer.

Yup. That's the answer.

I usually start with a proven recipe and tweak it from there.

PS-> Click the tool button and choose "adapt this" so you can change quantities and the nic base you're using.

That sounds pretty good. I just need the flavors. Is perfumer's apprentice the same as flavor or am I looking at the wrong site?

TPA and TFA are the same thing. You're in the right place.

God help me, I'll be going broke ordering all these flavors! Already added most of the Top 20 from the "My first Flavors" list. Yay for work bonus and my bday money!

It's the same company, they sell both flavors and aromas.

Blue Raspberry is my ADV as well. I also mix the Vanilla Ice Cream with everything. I'll look up any of the recipes I have with LB flavors.

Whats your % of Blue Raspberry to Ice Cream?

2 points

by TheDonkeyWheelalmost 10 years ago

My ADV Blue Raspberry I tend to enjoy as a stand alone flavor. For other recipes I usually start off with a base of (5% Vanilla Ice Cream) or (3% Vanilla Ice Cream and 2% Cream) and then start adding other flavors. I know for strawberry I like it at 5%. Thats the only one i know off the top of my head. Ill check my notes when I get home.

Have you tried the snickerdoodle? I've been trying to clone Snickerdoodle by Hammett Bridge, one of the best flavors I've ever had, but didn't know there was a SD flavor out there. I've tried with cinnamon sugar cookie and gingerbread but it always tuns out bad.

I actually have never had a Snickerdoodle IRL so i dont know what its supposed to taste like. But the extract tastes good haha. what does SD mean?

by macKdittyalmost 10 years ago

SD - Snickerdoodle abbreviated :]

I'm going to make an order from Liquid Barn. Does anyone know if their flavors are meant to be standalone?

Snickerdoodles are like sugar cookies with cinnamon and cream of tartar

Go to e-liquid-recipes.com. You can make an account (free of course) and enter your flavors. You can then search recipes based on your stash. That site has helped me get the most from my DIY time and money. There is a large crossover community as well. I'm saying that largely based on how revered fizz mustard is on that site as well as this sub. Enjoy!

Yeah, people don't really use "generic" flavors. Most are just outright bad compared to what you can make with a little effort and a lot of time. Check out our sidebar for first order flavor recommendations, and you can read through our recipe archives to find some recipes that fit your tastes(be warned, some of the older recipe posts contain bad recipes.)

Can you make some of just coconut milk and describe the flavor?

2 points

by MaelKoth2015almost 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

For sure. I was planning on making a couple 15ml bottles of straight flavor to help me gauge how potent they are starting at 8-10% tonight.

I made a 15ml of 8% coconut milk. So far to me it tastes like ground coconut flakes with a splash of milk. My wife says it smells like the inside of an almond joy or coconut perfume.

I want to add some banana and vanilla ice cream to make it interesting.

Nice, the coconut im using goes from tasting like the smell of faux coconut to suntan lotion. That sounds like it may work for me. Thanks!

Are these TFA flavors? I'm interested in the blue raspberry because I'm a huge fan of jolly ranchers lol.

These are the flavors I selected from a list for Liquid Barns starter kit.
