Sorry if this has been asked already, i been googling and found a few things but I would like to ask the DIY community here on this.
Searching VaporTeks website, I see the Throat Hit Nic and then the premium nic.
Other than the names, they are $10 difference. Thats fine and all but, what is the real difference in quality? Is the throat hit the " bottom of the barrel " stuff?
Read a lot of reviews on here about their nic in general and it seems to be highly praised, so I would like to go with them but before I do, I just wanted to know if their was a quality difference.
I dont mind some throat hit, just not to much.
Also, I make mixes at 70VG/30PG, would it serve me better to get Vg or Pg Nic? I use a box mod along with an RDA.

Their throat hit nic is still as pure in taste as their original, but with throat hit that you would get from old/bad nic for those who are accustomed to and enjoy it. I have both on hand, my roommates like the throat hit nic and the regular bottle sits around because I like my carolina xtract better.
Same experience. Carolina Extracts COVG is the win. It's on a whole different level.
I sampled most nicotines in the past looking for the best quality nicotine available. I used to prefer Vaporstek. Their premium is good. Its low throat hit, and less chem than the other nicotines on the market. Its great nicotine.
But, once I got the Carolina I noticed the flavoring of the mixes made with the Vaporstek were dulled and covered in comparison. Theres a complete absence of the petro taste and smell with the Carolina which is still present in the VT. Mix flavorings are brighter and livelier. And the nicotine itself is more enjoyable too.
I use VaperTek's nic and it's good stuff, although I have never tried the "Throat Hit" type.
I always get my nic in 100% VG, because it can be difficult to work out ratios if you're mixing 30/70 pg/vg or higher (that's my preferred ratio too.) It depends on how much flavoring you use, but since my mixes hover around the 20% flavoring mark, the all-VG nic gives me some wiggle room.
I have never had a problem with hot spots in my 100% VG nic, and I store it in the freezer. I take it out about 20 minutes before I'm going to use it, and put the bottle in a bowl of hot water (from the tap, not microwaved or anything like that.) That warms up the nic enough to make it easy to shake. I also sometimes mix up smaller (60ml) batches of 36mg/ml nic that I just keep in the cupboard and I don't have any problems shaking those either (although you could make that at 10/90 pg/vg to thin it a little and making shaking easier.)
At any rate, I would not suggest getting 100% PG nic, unless you're still rocking 50/50 mixes or something. A high- or 100%-VG nic is the most flexible, and really not difficult to work with.
EDIT Protip: If you're using syringes larger than, say, 10ml to transfer high-VG nic, pull the plunger out and fill them from the back instead of trying to suck it up through a needle. You'll need to put a finger over the needle (wear a glove, obviously), but it's way faster than watching it sloooooowly suck up through a syringe. Then put the syringe over your container, then push the plunger back in, and you're in business.
I prefer PG nic because it shakes up easier than nic in VG. Just make sure you get a high concentration or you'll have trouble hitting your 70/30 mark.
Edit: No comment on Vapertek, never tried it. I'm curious about that throat hit business too though.. seems weird to me. I use Vape Clarity and I love their product. Great nicotine.
Im looking at the 100mg/mlI played around with the calculator and noticed how hard it was to even out with a 48mg version.
Can you tell me more about the Nicotine you mentioned?
Vape Clarity is a newish nicotine vendor. I've ordered from them many times now and have found their nicotine to be tasteless and clear every time. They are also quite inexpensive.
I'm new, so take this for what it's worth. I've been DIY for about three months now, I bought tons of flavors, tons of equipment, a scale, just about everything you can think of to get started in more than just a minor kit way, but a major way. I was basically trying to go all out this time. I tried DIY years ago and ended up quit out of frustration.
When I got back into it, and started getting down to the nitty-gritty. Things started going pretty good, to a certain extent. The main issue I ran a crossed was all of the hundred milligram vegetable glycerin Nicotine I was purchasing. Pretty much all the mixes were coming or super peppery and had a horrible throat head. They also seem to really dry on the taste.
I tried 4 different Nic vendors, all from main companies everyone on here uses or have used. I got the same bad results with each one... Some were okay, some were horrible. Until I finally tried VapersTek and was like "holy shit, this is perfect" there premium nic, non throat hit nic is amazing and super high quality. Can't recommend more.
Man, this is good to hear. I will make a purchase from them soon. I'm kinda new and have been tearing my hair out in frustration. Have nic from 2 different vendors that everyone raves about and the throat hit is absolute murder, I've been having to mix at 1mg to even get down to acceptable levels and it still isn't that great. I'm sure my lack of experience is helping with the "not great" aspect, but my math is spot on and mixing up a 3mg with either one is like dripping 18mg. Suppose I should get some titration testing stuff while I'm at it.
Yup, your story sounds just like mine. You'll love the VapersTek stuff man. It's so damn good.
Also, what I did when I got my batch from them was shake the living hell outta it for like 5mins straight, then poured the nic into a bunch of 30ml brown tinted (Boston rounds) glass bottles. Filling them as high as I could to minimize the air that would be inside when I closed them up. Then I placed them in the freezer (except for one of course so I could use that one right then). Now when I run out, I just grab a new 30ml bottle out of the freezer. This cuts down on the amount of air exposure from opening the freezer bottle to fill whatever smaller bottle you use for you room temperature nic. And it's better than having a big bottle at room temperature for a long time. Basically just makes everything simpler and keeps your nicotine fresher longer.
You will be fine with PG or VG nic if you are aiming for 70/30, especially if you go with 100mg/ml nic. I just mixed a batch of my go-to-juice today at max VG. I use 100mg/ml PG based nic because it's what I started with. I don't know many decent recipes that call for 30% flavor, so you'd be adding PG anyways. My batch ended up at 82.5/17.5, and I didn't add any PG. I mix all of my recipes at max VG and I haven't even touched my bottle of PG in months. I usually end up some where near 80/20 to 85/15.
I purchase all my nic base now in 100mg/ml PG, and I mix down to 48mg/ml 50/50 PG/VG for storage (in the freezer in vacuum sealed 60ml glass bottles).
Vape Clarity is in the top of the field in my experience, edging out liquidbarn, wide gulfs better than WL, and on par or better than Nude. Never tried Tek or Carolina, though.
I only order VT TH , to me i don't notice any TH . The price difference between the premium VT and throat hit is a hell of a lot more than $10.00.

The VaporsTek website has a few reviews for the TH and all excellent.
just checked vapers tek for "eu sourced throat hit nic" and it shows a price of $25 a liter ( 100 mg/ml) thats friggin cheap, is it an error? i have been buying nic from heartland which is working ok but dang man this is almost half price of that if it isnt an error
