Since I was planning to give the star of Bronuts another shot, a few weeks ago I also picked up a second batch of another flavor I have vilified as absolutely unworkable in the past: TFA Fruit Circles.
I mixed up a generic "cereal" that was the top rated using TFA FC on ELR ... and what do you know? It's pretty good!
I can see what people say about "Pledge" now, but trust me, this is NOT what I have been complaining about. This is something I can work with, the other batch was like vaping gasoline.
Apparently, I have received not one, but two completely bunk flavors in my short DIY career. Each bad batch came from a different seller, and each good batch came from the same seller that originally sold the bunk one.
So, to the thread earlier asking about QC in flavors? Yes, emphatically, YES, there can be quality control issues with flavors. In the future, when my experience with a flavor is dramatically different than the one reported, I'll keep these incidents in mind. I'm very, very glad to find that my palette isn't so far off from the hive mind.
To keep this in perspective, these are two bad flavors out of over 250 that I own, so I've seen a 99.6% success rate.
so have we all just gotten bad batches of TFA Cheesecake? dune dun dun...the world will never know
ahh dont, i never touched a cheesecake juice after this one which tasted like ass and was ordered in 6mg, said 6mg on the bottle, but gave me a huge nicotine high after each puff.
People really need to get on the FW Fruit Rings hype train. It's so much better than TFA Fruit Circles.
People need to get on the FW hype train. If you enjoy "commercial" style juice, it's hard to ignore FW. Plus they blend so well with TFA.
I've been building up my FW profile lately. They have a decent amount of hidden gems.
I was just thinking that what I really really need in my life is #251. Thanks for that.
TFA's Peanut Butter, which I use in obscene quantities, also varies greatly from batch to batch. I've contacted them about it because I was convinced they'd changed the recipe, and was told they hadn't. My first 4 oz bottle was a nice tan color and smelled amazing, then I got a 4 oz that was nearly clear and smelled of dust, then back to the good stuff.
Bummer when it happens, four out of the few hundred flavorings i have, or used to have as i gave what i dont use to my nephews, were bad. Better success rate that when i used to buy ejuice.
Got damn the comments on that recipe are ridiculous..
> Better success rate that when i used to buy ejuice.
This is a good point, I've probably tried 25 flavors of commercial juice and thrown out 5 of them.
> Got damn the comments on that recipe are ridiculous..
Oh, yeah, a lot of drama there.
You're on a roll! I'm sort of glad to hear this. I've had a few flavors that I chalked up to being bad. Everyone says it's good (FA Lime Cold Pressed) but mine ruins everything it touches. Or everyone seems to use ~5%, I use 0.05% and it still overpowers the mix (TFA Watermelon). Maybe I should grab a new bottle of cold pressed... Thank you Q.
Take it from someone who has ordered $100k+ in flavor concentrates over the past 2 years. I have gotten bunk flavors from TFA, Capella, FW, NO, LO, pretty much all of them. We don't order much FA so haven't experiences it from them. But everyone else, ya it's possible. All of those companies have been exceptional at rectifying the situation promptly as well.
