A very good Ice Cream Flavor
submitted almost 10 years ago by ObamaNYoMama

Cold Cream

Ingredient|% :---|---: Bavarian Cream (TPA)|3 Peppermint (TPA)|0.9 Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA)|5 Vanilla Custard (CAP)|4 Vanillin 10% PG (TPA)|1 Whipped Cream (TPA)|2

Flavor total: 15.90%

Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!

Is really tasty as a shake and vape, even better after 7-10 days. It was my first recipe (that wasn't a clone) and I'd really like some feedback on how you guys like it.

I personally feel that it tastes like a Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with a dollop of whipped cream on it.

Bavarian Cream

I had it at 6% at first and found it to be overpowering of the mix and giving off the vibe of buttery popcorn, I like it at 4%

Peppermint

It's good at .75%, but after a few days the peppermint dulls and it really lessens the cold effect of the ice cream. Much better at .9%

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Is obviously the main ingredient in the recipe, at higher than 6% I have found that the vanilla bean gives a weird taste when mixed with the other flavors. I like it much better at 5%.

Vanilla Custard

The Vanilla Custard is a subtle note in the background. At 3% it gives the vanilla taste (as well as Vanillin 10) but the "custard" is not at all prevalent.

Vanillin 10% PG

I really like this flavor and what it does to the recipe it is at IMHO the perfect percentage giving a subtle but not overtly so vanilla taste (as well as the vanilla custard).

Whipped Cream

The whipped cream gives a very good thickness to it as well as giving it a good background flavor. The whipped cream really complements the whole ice cream vibe.

I would appreciate any feedback you guys can give me, most of you are much more experienced than me and it would be great to get advice from an expert.

would you say this kind of tastes like this? Just had one the other day and would love to vape something like it.

No I wouldn't say that. For something like that my first bet would be to drop the vbic whipped cream and Bavarian cream and instead do maybe a tiny amount of sweet cream and up the vanilla custard.

But I'm new. I would start there and work with it

I don't own TFA peppermint but would love to make something like this. Is this peppermint candylike, like does it have much sweetness to it? and is it a strong flavor?

It's not super sweet but is very strong. For candy I would pair with cotton candy tfa

Definitely strong, and I don't really get much if any sweetness out of it. I've heard Creme de Menth (FLV's I think) is a really good sweet mint that would probably work well in this application.

I like this approach much better than just tweaking VBIC. I love making my own base flavors!

It was my first real recipe. I kinda just threw some flavors that sounded good together went on ELR and looked up mixing percentages, adjusted them based on if I wanted the flavor to be subtle or dominant.

Then from there I just tweaked it, this is actually version 3 of it because the first one was like buttery popcorn (bavarian cream was the culprit) and the second one was a little bit too much VBIC.

Sounds good! I whipped up a simple peppermint and vbic recipe that's currently steeping. I'll try this with the flavours I have on hand. No custard or whipped cream but I may sub in some marshmallow and /or sweet cream.

Personally I feel like the custard and whipped cream make the recipe but I have no doubt you can make something really good out of what you have.

You could try without but the Peppermint really gives it the fresh out of the freezer feeling.

You could try to substitute koolada instead and see how it is.

Except MUCH less koolada. Like 1-2 drops/10mL

Yeah definitely never use koolada in big does
