intended as satire so mods feel free to delete if necessary. I'm just kinda frustrated and tired of the infighting and want ppl to get back to what this sub is all about... making some amazing juice. this is addressed to everyone both noob and experienced.
I like it, it sets a tone. We're all adults, we should be able to interact as such without a bunch of squabbling, or conversely, hand holding. We need a bit more satire ☺
That's what I was thinking. People aren't reading the fucking sidebar anyway and end up getting their feelings hurt so maybe just skip to the part where you shouldn't get mad at a noob or act like a baby if someone takes a hot shit on you. Just roll with it yall.
Yea, I feel like these people taking "hot shits" are kind of pointless. Do they not realize how many people are in the ejuice community that will at some point come here to investigate DIY? They also need to realize how many people in this world are use to being spoon fed and hand held.
There is no point in getting nasty with these new users as if they are all one person who keeps breaking rules. It sets a very bad image for the DIY community. As if this community is not already frowned upon by the masses.
We are fighting a war that we are already behind in. Do you know how many times I have went into B&M shops only to hear lies about DIY juice? I could post about 10 different false rumors that I have heard ten times each.
I don't think the DIY community will win the hearts and minds of the larger ejuice community by taking these "hot shits" on each one that doesn't read up before posting. A simple down-vote will put undesired threads where they need to be. DIY needs all the people it can get.
We're at a tough point where it's either keep the silent majority of our users happy, and alienate the active, vocal minority; or keep the vocal minority from taking their knowledge elsewhere and ignore what the lurkers(majority) prefer.
I feel that. And I get that the arguing is kind of contagious, but I kinda wish everyone would just take a step back and remind themselves of why we're here. I just love this sub and seeing the multiple posts about these issues lately bums me out... not sure why I started another one lol. But if the n00bz could toughen up a bit and everyone else could be a little more patient and stop leaning on em I think that would be a good compromise. Would a more lax semi-laissez-faire style moderation be all that bad? Like maybe have the general rules but let it be a big mess or something. It's reddit after all. If we had subdirectories where specific conversations could happen freely then it would just be another forum. I dunno. Maybe that mess is part of the magic that happens here.
Because I offered to work on the bot.... Coming from experience of running a different forum I can definitely see the strife here. Quality over quantity everyday but sadly with the world's instant gratification style society it's hard. People want it now and no longer get the joy from research. The community needs to try to compromise, stand it's ground. Or we will just always be the scurge of diy groups or just like every other shitty group. Although we could always say our content is good ;) !
