I just burned about 10 dollars on the root beer flavor from TFA because a friend of mine says it was really good. Im having no luck with it. So before i go and burn more money on a nasty rootbeer flavor. What is the best flavor for rootbeer?
First there is much more to making a root beer flavored juice than just using root beer flavor. You will need Wintergreen and Vanilla been Ice cream and then you will need to let it steep for a few days.
I use :
8 % TFA root beer
2 % TFA vanilla bean Ice cream
2 % TFA Wintergreen
This when steeped properly will make a very nice root beer juice. I'm vaping some of it now as I type this. This is not my recipe but one I found posted here and I have been using it and like it a lot. This was posted by /u/ilikeycoffee If you want to read his post then you will find it [here] (https://redd.it/3rg6fu).
I'm vaping that A&W Root Beer Float as we speak, and I think it's great.
Root beer float by FW is the best i have found At 5% and add some ice cream or Carmel..I have just tried it straight. really like it.
I have tried FW Root beer float and I think that TFA Root beer is better but that is always subjective. The recipe I found makes a very nice Root beer juice and I like it a lot.
I have read the changes he made to the recipe and am considering getting the other ingredients I don't have and trying it. It is hard to imagine it would be better than the one I'm using but I guess I won't know until I try it.
Having a scale and doing DIY by weight has changed my entire DIY experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't doing it that way. I can made any recipe in a matter of just a few minutes and get it exactly the same every time I make it.
what if someone wanted just a great rootbeer drink taste, omit the ice cream?
Actually, if you follow the recipe then just a great root beer drink taste is what you will get. The Ice cream gives it that smooth creamy flavor that A&W root beer has. You need to let it steep for about four to five days for the flavors to blend together correctly and then you will not even notice the Ice cream flavor.
Tastypuffs rasta root beer is iirc believed to be a class above most other root beers

Yeah. That's the one HeadInClouds recommends. They have a $20 minimum order though, and root beer is all I want and I can't find it off that site so I haven't tried it yet. Here's my recipe:
- 10-12% Cap Root Beer
- 5-6% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
- 2% LA Sassafrass
- 2 drops FA Anise per 30 ml
- 1-2 drops Koolada per 30 ml (to taste)
The Sassafrass is important, it provides that "bite" we're looking for. I don't have any wintergreen so the Koolada is attempting to substitute. CAP RB doesn't have much licorice flavor (and FW RB has too much) so the FA Anise adds just a hint of a background note to help with the Sassafrass. I feel the VBIC is too high, but I've tried dropping the percentage a bit and and using FA Vienna Cream and Fresh Cream but that isn't working for me.
One of these days I hope I can get some TastyPuff stuff.
Believe it or not, I've found ebay to be the easiest place to source the stuff. Certainly not my first choice to pick up flavorings... but it works. I ended up getting the 30ml bottle (with spray top) after tearing through the smaller bottle. I love the stuff. The wintergreen aspect even makes the liquid feel a little bubbly on the tongue.
If you email TastyPuff, they can put you in contact with a distributor that is local to you which can in turn point you to a local retailer that sells it. This stuff is often sold in head shops for dripping on to weed in bongs. That's how I found a shop in Toronto that sells it.
I haven't really found one I'm completely happy with. The rb float flavors don't work for me. The non-pg tfa root beer is different. It's a "micro brew" type. very lemony at first, but gets decent. Its not like an A&W or anything though. FW is ok depending on what you're looking for. It's more rb candy, and needs to steep or it tastes like black licorice . TastyPuff Rasta Rootbeer so far seems to be the closest I've found to good. You can find it on ebay, maybe some other places. I don't remember why I didn't buy direct. Maybe shipping cost. I gave up, but I need to revisit this since I have more experience now. Good luck...
I have also been looking for a way to get some of the Rasta Root beer as I heard it was the best but have been unable to find it. If you locate it somewhere other than ebay please let me know. Thanks.
Like I mentioned in another thread above, if you send them an email at TastyPuff they can point you in the right direction to find a local retailer that sells their flavors. They are sold in head shops. I contacted them and ended up finding a store in Toronto that sells it.

Idk about best but I like TFA Root Beer Float standalone. Wasn't impressed with the TFA Root Beer
