Tried asking on the chemistry subreddit and not one reply... so maybe some of you can chime in: Sucralose degredation when exposed to heat

Hello all, first off i just wanted to state that i am by no means well versed in chemistry or chemistry lingo so please try and keep things somewhat simple for me haha, and i will do my best to understand. Okay so i have a question about Sucralose, specifically when it is heated and used in vaping. It has come to my attention that it is commonly used as a sweetener in many different ejuice brands. It has also came to my attention that it can break down into carcinogens when heated. So what i want to ask you is this; at what temperature does sucralose break down, how long would it need to maintain that temperature to break down, and would it be bad to inhale when used in the conditions below:

 

A few facts about vaping that may help you explain/understand the questions im asking. Vaping is done in 1-10sec intervals or "puffs" at temperatures commonly ranging from 200f-600f. The most common ingredients that would be mixed in with sucralose are vegtable glycerine, propylene glycol, nicotine, and various flavorings which i believe are "esters" suspended in either PG or VG. There may also be trace amounts of alcohol depending on the flavorings used and how long the juice has had to "breathe" or evaporate the alcohol. I remember reading somewhere that the chemicals sucralose breaks down into can react with glycol and other lipids to create carcinogens that i wont attempt to name or spell lol.

 

I hope i have provided enough info to comprehend what i am trying to ask, and any help is much appreciated! A bunch of friends and i are having a discussion on this topic and are really hoping to get some kind of answer on if its safe or not. I have always stayed away from it just to reduce my risk, but i have tried some juices that use it... and it tastes amazing with that type of sweetener added.

 

The info that you may help me with, will be passed on to others to help reduce their risks or reassure them that using this sweetener is relatively safe.

TL;DR inhaling anything besides AIR is "dangerous"

edit:

Cool i will check out the link! And i know that inhaling anything besides air is dangerous... but if im vaping i want to eliminate any unnecessary risks to make it as healthy as possible. I know lots of people have the mindset that "its better than smoking so i dont care" but thats not how i think haha.

I feel you there.

Except diacetyl & AP. I friggin' love them. They can stay. I don't need sweeteners.

Check my edit, I dug & found the decomposition temperature.

Grate, I finally add sucralose to my DIY collection, and it's the devil. Well, I knew it was already somewhat bad since they took it outta my bottled Gatorade and blueberry pancake syrup when I was a kid.

Sucralose has a really low caramelization point, and then it begins the process of burning and converting to other chemical components.
