Kinder Surprise Eggs?
submitted almost 10 years ago by phelyan

I guess this is more for the non-US crowd, and maybe this is why I haven't found a recipe anywhere. I can't really describe the flavour profile, but you know what I mean. I'm looking for a recipe for something resembling this most divine of chocolates

TFA Blue Raspberry is a start.

Really captures the look and flavour of the Smurfs toys they gave away in the late 80s (or was it early 90s?)

Came here to say this.

Maybe start with some FW eggnog.

For those unfamiliar, kinder-eggs are a German treat. A smooth milk chocolate egg with a toy inside!

Unfortunately, chocolate is a really hard flavor to nail when it comes to vaping. I've all but given up with it.

Tfa chocolate clear is great! I've been having good luck making Chocolate flavors from it.

They're also very popular with UK people too :)

hope will come back when you get MF dark chocolate & white chocolate. You can get milk chocolate by combining the two. Real flavor, no gunk.

Good to know, I'll have to nab some soon and play around with it!

What do you use to sweeten it up? imo, MF chocolates smells great, taste like chocolates, doesn't have that chalky taste FA Cocao have but they ain't sweet enough

Other flavours.

Kinder Eggs aren't allowed in the U.S. (I miss them), but Kinderschokolade is, and if memory serves me right, the chocolate part tastes almost the same (not including the delicious white chocolate interior of Kinderschokolade).

Might try mixing a chocolate with a milk and vanilla.

I believe kinder eggs are now allowed in the us. I can get them at a few stores in my area.

1 points

by Towerfulalmost 10 years ago

maybe you have smart people in your area that have been deemed capable of not devouring a tasty treat in 1 bite, and ending up with a surprise lodged in their throat (or colon).

They are banned by the FDA and Consumer Product Safety Commission, apparently the toy constitutes a non food item in food for one of them, and a choking hazard for the other.

So where do Mardi Gras King Cakes fit into this?

1 points

by joeDUBstepalmost 10 years ago

Technically they are illegal, but I too have seen stores around the US with kinder eggs. The kinder bars and kinder buenos are easier to find though. The flavor profile is the same, milk chocolate, white chocolate, and hazelnut.

I recall reading that they were banned due to an FDA ruling that foods cannot contain a "fully encapsulated, non nutrative object". Kinder bypassed this by releasing a version with visible seams where the toy capsule was visible from outside the chocolate shell.

I may have remembered wrong, since I still cannot find them near me.

why are they not allowed in the US? :|

I believe its because of the toy inside is considered a choking hazards. Americans are considered too stupid to not swallow a plastic toy haha

First they took my kinder eggs, now they're going after my AR-15's. Thanks Obama.

I think inmates put stuff in the egg and shoved them up their ass.

Chocolate, milk and vanilla does sound like a good start. Maybe that's my mission, make the perfect Kinder vape. :)

Not 100% but I believe Lindt Lindor milk chocolates are basically the same recipe minus the surprise. That might help nail it down.

At first glance I thought someone came up with a bot that shows the percentages to the mentioned recipe.

Someone should make this a thing.

chocolate bakers flavors or vaping zone. those 2 are the same it just depends on how long you want to wait to get them. Vaping zone is in the US and bakers flavors are in Russia. Also, some good chocolates are medicine flower (light, dark, and white chocolate are all very good). I don't really care much for INW flavors. I don't know what it is but they all seem to have a weird after taste, even the raspberry. I really wanted to like that one because it smells so good. I have been on quite an adventure looking for the best chocolate out there. I have found that Bakers Flavors Chocolates are all very good. The chocolate truffle is one of the best out there but you don't need much of it at all. If you use too much it will taste horrible. Cocoa Beans by BF is supposed to be really good as well. I guess that will definitely be on my next order. Ive even ordered Atmos Labs Chocolate and was sadly disappointed 2 weeks later with a tootsie roll flavor :( As far as price and availability I'd almost have to say that Flavor Art has the best real chocolate flavor as long as u vape under 30 watts. I'd almost suggest playing with FA Cocoa and FA Chocolate and adding in some different creams to kind of make ur own version of this chocolate flavor you are searching for. In my experience I haven't found that one flavor of chocolate that is great standalone but that's just me.

Hershey bar dunked in some nutella?

I'd try cream, hazelnut, and chocolate personally...

6 points

Kinder chocolate is far superior to the nasty Hershey.

Agreed, but it's the closest we got in the nanny state...

Are kinder eggs not milk chocolate and white chocolate?

I haven't had one in years, but I recall the white chocolate layer on the inside coated with milk chocolate.

1 points

by phelyanalmost 10 years ago

I don't think it's quite white chocolate, it's lighter, I think.

1 points

by leapinglabratsalmost 10 years ago

I'd try milk chocolate and vanilla, with cream.. not sure about the white chocolate

1 points

by Hyacin75almost 10 years ago

Yep, the ones we have here in Canada, which I eat a LOT of my son's leftover chocolate from, look and taste like milk chocolate + white chocolate to me!

1 points

by iLLNiSSalmost 10 years ago

Canada here as well. I don't think this is Canada only though. I'm pretty sure I had a German kinder bar (not the egg) and it had white chocolate.

2 points

by noodles1972almost 10 years ago

I would definitely go with a little hazelnut in there to

Those things were freaking awesome! I had one a few years back!

by dade1701almost 10 years ago

Agreed. The toys were near, and the chocolate. Oh the chocolate. For the record, there's a shop near me called "World Market" that sells kinder branded chocolate bars which is the same thing. No eggs though. Would LOVE to nab some for the holidays man.

I ordered Flavor West Double Dutch Twister just to see if its close to Kinder chocolate. It's described as a mix of white chocolate and milk chocolate. Should be here soon!

Bakers chocolate with FA Toy

What about molin berry glamour chocolate. I think they're flavors are great and glamour chocolate is no exception. Some say their flavors don't last that long but most of my good mixes don't last that long anyway lol

1 points

by Ilikewaterandjuicealmost 10 years ago

The chocolate taste would be hard- but do-able. The tricky part would be getting the plastic-y aftertaste to simulate smoking the toys.

Well, I'm putting in an order for chocolate flavours tomorrow, and I'll definitely post again here once I have something I am happy with.
