I FINALLY made a good mix! "The Downfront: Blueberry Yogurts"
submitted almost 10 years ago by cerevisaphile87

I was mixing a bunch of batches last month. Some were from the Internet and others were my own experiments. After realizing I didn't have Ripe Strawberry, I decided to take Strawberry Yogurts by ENYAWREKLAW and adapt it as a blueberry yogurt. I was hoping to get something similar to The Schwartz: The Downside, and much to my surprise it is my first recipe adapted by myself that came out great!

The Downfront: Blueberry Yogurts

CAP Creamy Yogurt 5%

TFA Blueberry Wild 6%

TFA Blueberry Extra 2%

FA Meringue 0.5%

FA Caramel 0.5%

EM 1.5%

Mix at 80/20 / Steep time LONG (personally, mine had a full 1 month steep time)

I also have CAP Greek Yogurt that I'll be experimenting with and will also get a hold of FA Bilberry & FLV Blueberry to see if there is anything else to improve on this recipe. Anyone have opinions/advice on this mix??

I'm here. NotCharlesManson recommended FW Blueberry. Somewhere else I read to try FA Bilberry. I'm gonna buy a bunch of samples. There's also this which requires TFA Blueberry Candy. Pretty much every blueberry out there lol.

For anyone who really wants to make a clone of Downside, this is the closest I've come to making it (I've been trying for months...).

*FW Blueberry 5%

*TFA Strawberry Ripe 5%

*CAP Creamy Yoghurt 4%

*TFA Sweet Cream 2%

TFA Strawberry Ripe was the missing link. Steeped gently in a water bath, and after three days it was 98% spot-on Downside.

If you're looking for more blueberry flavors, get FW Blueberry before anything else. I like 8% blueberry wild + 1% FW Blueberry.

Mix looks good, wish I had some yogurt to try it out.

I am on the FW Blueberry bandwagon for life. Had some pretty great results combing it with some Medicine Flower blueberry too to give it a more natural flavor. I think I can retire Blueberry Wild as long as I have these two.

Awesome, glad to see this thread. I am working on Blueberry Yogurt project. Tasted Rocketman, and now I am chasing this wonderfull combination.

Here was my first test batch. My take away is TFA Blueberry Extra is weak, tasty but weak. I ordered TFA Blueberry candy to test mixing the two together.

Batch 1: TFA-Greek Yogurt 4%, TFA-Blueberry Extra 9%, TFA-Cheesecake Grahm crust 7%, TFA-Dairy Milk 3%, Sucralose 2%(use 1, I was testing)

Next batch will be the same, except I will add 5% TFA Blueberry Candy, and reduce BB Extra by a few %.

Blueberry candy is a definite candy flavor, It may be better to use with blueberries wild to make less wild and more like blueberry extra. BBC (lol) is an all-star flavor in my blue raz clone though ahh its a huge hit!

I'm very much looking forward to trying this. But I have to say, I'm on the FW Blueberry bandwagon as well. I have a killer blueberry cheesecake recipe that I started with TFA Blueberry and it was pretty decent but since I'm 5min away from the FW manufacturer I ended up picking up there's to try. Haven't gone back since.
