Churrios (my take on it; 90% accurate)

I began my quest to clone Churrios by The Vaping Rabbit roughly 3 months ago...

It all started with a bottle of Churrios, my sense of smell, taste and a pen and paper. Over the course of a week I had finished most of the bottle and developed my flavour list. My focus was around the core flavours (IMO): cinnamon/spice, cereal/bakery, vanilla and dairy/cream. It was now time to develop some recipes. Cereals, pies, pastries, popcorn, butter, ice cream, molasses, honey, cream...just to name some flavors I used. Let’s just say I wanted to try everything. I was not too worried about exact percentages at this point but more so about combining certain flavours together. After mixing up the recipes and trying them, I started to narrow in on what I felt produced the best results. Now it was the difficult and long part. Tinkering with percentages. This took some time. A lot of time. But in the end it was worth it.

To wrap things up, I felt and along with friends, that this version was the best tasting out of the lot. I would say that it is 90% there but IMHO I like this ALOT better than the original. It has a lot of depth and a better flavor profile. The inhale fills your mouth with a yummy cinnamon baked good followed by a lovely creamy finish that produces what feels like a rich vape. You do get a hint of apple, and the apple actually lingers in your mouth when you are done vaping.

Now I would like to ask the professionals on here to critique this recipe and possibly perfect it even more!! I would love any feedback and constructive criticism. This recipe is for the community and it is meant to be made, tinkered, and perfected by YOU :)

  • 2.5% Apple Pie (TPA)
  • 1.5% Bavarian Cream (TPA)
  • 1% Biscotti/Cookie (FA)
  • 0.5 Biscuit (INAWERA)
  • 1% Brown Sugar (TPA)
  • 3.5% Cinnamon Danish Swirl (CAP)
  • 2% Fresh Cream (FA)
  • 1% Gram Cracker v2 (CAP)
  • 0.5% Toasted Almond (TPA)
  • 6.5% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (CAP)

Please enjoy :)

I guarantee this is a million times more complicated and probably better than Churrious. When I tried churrios, all I tasted was FW Cinnamon Roll. IMO it's probably a 2-3 flavor recipe. I think you humble yourself saying it's a clone. You said it yourself, you like it a lot better than the OG :)

Thank you for the kind words!! After starting to DIY I've realised that companies goals are to: A) make money B) make money C) make money. But don't get me wrong their are some great companies out their that produce amazing high quality juice, but I've lost interest in buying juice when I can make the exact flavors I want in my vape.

Agreed. Someone told me just to use FW Moose Milk. Let it steep and then it tastes like Churrios....

Just a heads up. Your recipe is marked and private and can't be viewed on ELR. If you'd like everybody to view it then go into the edit part on the recipe and I check the "This is a private recipe" box and then save. Looks good though.

Thanks, about to change that

I think a light touch of FA Joy would help turn the cinnamon danish/cookie combination into something of a churro, might be fun to try that out.

I'd use a little FA Honey to hit on the honey note they are talking about.

Maybe throw in meringue to boost the cereal milk aspect.

Try FA Almond instead of Toasted Almond if you haven't already as another nutty option choice. goes well in these types of profiles.

I may play around with FA honey again, but for my tastes buds they much preferred the brown sugar. I will try a couple drops of FA joy as I know it can really make or REALLY break a recipe.

Meringue does work quite well in this recipe. I would lower the VBIC from 6.5%-6% and add the meringue at .5%.

I really hope people mix this up, enjoy how it tastes but more importantly have fun playing around with it! Mix it up how you would enjoy it because ejuice can be very subjective.

Thanks for this. I'm probably going to adapt this recipe to my tastes a bit, but I was looking for a creamy/sweet mix with more of just a hint of cinnamon (i'm going to lower the CDS and add more cream base, meringue as other people have noted)

i haven't tried Churrios yet but i'm dying to get my hands on it (I live in a place where it is pretty inaccessible).

But I'm going to monitor this thread as I have most of the flavours on that list and tbh im pretty excited!

I got some right now. It's alright. I've gotten it a few times I think I won't next time though tbh. The flavor gets a little old quickly. Beautiful packaging though.

Nice. Thanks will mix tonight! Does anyone know if there is a major difference between cap Toasted almond and TPA... I only have CAP and I have no frame of reference for TPA.

Definitely let me know how it goes. And by the way I call this my shake and vape churrios.

I can't be 100% sure so I don't feel comfortable answering your question. Hopefully someone else can.

Also curious, I am usually inclined to scale back recipes that high by about a third.

If you do scale back, please post your results :)

I have to hit the gym, but I just got home and punched this in... 20% flavor...I missed that at work glancing over it.. Ill mix er up as is, but did you ever have a Ver where you dialed it back on the way to final? Will report back later tonight regardless mang.

To be honest, with this recipe I was looking for a VERY flavorful juice. I may try to take your advice and devise a recipe as such and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the recipe. Do you mean fa fresh cream? Or cap sweet cream? I've never seen a cap fresh cream.

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

Oops! Its FA Fresh Cream. I just changed that, thanks!

by sixfivelivealmost 10 years ago

Np. Thank you. I'll mix this up tonight. I've never had the original but I've almost bought it whenever I look at juice. I can barely make myself buy juice anymore.

I'm the same! It's just not worth it. Maybe for a special occasion or when you want to try to clone something :)

by McHairpiealmost 10 years ago

Looks promising. I can't see the apple pie shining through all of that but I'll give it a go with a couple substitutions

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

It isn't meant to shine through, it's suppose to add to the body and depth of baked good note. It'll linger on your palate longer after your done vaping, and you'll want to keep vaping because of it. It is there but not as a main flavour. It's not apple-churrios after all ;P

by McHairpiealmost 10 years ago

Ok. I was thinking of an apple cinnamon cheerios type of situation. I seem to remember having that cereal before. I've never had this juice you're cloning either. What is it meant to taste like?

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

Tastes like a warm, fluffy churro, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon and dipped in a creamy milky vanilla ice cream

Can't wait to try this, I saved it as favorite until I get some of the flavors I'm missing.

Let me know how you like it when you mix some up :)

Shit! I'm out of CAP Graham Cracker... Damnit. I have everything else too. Maybe I should up the Danish by a smidge to make up for the cinnamon CAP GC would've brought and maybe add TFA GC. I'll let you know how it goes.

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

The graham cracker is kind of key IMO for my flavor palate. I've used it at different percentages in I think every version of this recipe. Mix it up though and let me know how it goes. I'm sure it'll taste great even still!!

Come Thursday I'm placing an order. I may hold off on mixing this until I can grab it!

I have all of those except for Fresh Cream and Toasted Almond. are they crucial?

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

The cream isn't to too crucial and neither is the toasted almond. The cream is to smooth out the richness of the vanilla bean ice cream and can be easily replaced by either another cream of your liking or increase the Bavarian cream and vanilla bean ice cream accordingly. As for the toasted almond, I think it adds to the bakery note, if you have something else that you think can add to the bakery note replace it or you can just up the cinnamon Danish in it's place

Have you used CAPs Cinnamon Sugar Cookie? I have everything except Danish and am hoping the sub works okay. Will mix it up and report back in case anyone else is in the same boat :)

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

I do enjoy caps cinnamon sugar cookie and I'm sure in place of the Danish and it will work well. I just really enjoy caps cinnamon Danish swirl, one of my favourite cinnamon bakery flavors. Let me know how it goes, hope you enjoy!

I will!! I'll be using the very last of my VG while I'm waiting on my new shipment :) tried another clone on ELR that looked and tasted pretty slapdash.

Haven't tried the original but the OG Milkman is my favourite commercial!

I lost my head with the Black Friday sales and bought a bunch of vendor juice in flavors I've wanted to try for awhile. It happens that Churrios was one of them. It just came today so I'm going to mix this up and do a side by side.

Side note: Vendor juice is over rated.

1 points

by ohm-societyalmost 10 years ago

I like your side note :) Let me know how you them both :) !

The only thing I'm missing is TPA Apple Pie...do you think I can sub for FA Apple Pie? If so, how should I alter the %?

1 points

by gilesdavisalmost 10 years ago

I usually just go to the flavour page on ELR and checke the median mix % for both, and just make a best guess. For example, if TFA is 20% above the recommended median, sub FA at 20% above median. Usually a safe place to start.

1 points

by xrjon0609almost 10 years ago

Right that is my usual thinking, I'm gonna give it a shot

1 points

by captaincannibalalmost 10 years ago

TPA Apple Pie and FA Apple Pie are very different. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try though. I would try 1% with the FA first.

1 points

by xrjon0609almost 10 years ago

Yup I was thinking the same, I was gonna do FA at .5%, maybe I'll try 1

holy... i was working on this recipe recently and it's close to what you got.. i've never thought of throwing cream in there. i think i can combine my recipe with this one and create some really good shit. appreciate you for posting this.

have you tried playing with any level of FLV rich cinnamon?? it's amazing with this combination of flavors.. Just don't put too much.. Shit is powerful.

I'm not at all a pro or even close but that helped me get where i wanted cinnamon wise.. .3-.5%
