Never seen this done before. Adirondack cayuga clone.
submitted almost 10 years ago by simpsons6575

One of my favorite juices from Adirondack is cayuga. Its really unique and one of the most underrated juices out there in my opinion. I could vape this all day every day. Any who here's my first attemp to try and clone this. I can tell already im way off but I cant put this mix down either and its really delicious. Here's what I came up with based on their description

TFA Papaya 4.8%

INW Pinapple 2.5%

TFA Kiwi double 4%

FA Kiwi 1%

TFA Dragon fruit 1%

TFA Jackfruit 1%

FA Papaya 0.4%

FA White Peach 0.6%

What I'm asking is has anyone attempted cloning cayuga and has come close. I was looking at the picture in its description and I could see a picture of a fig. I know thats not really reliable to tell its included in the mix although I have never tried fig so it could be. Any help or ideas on this would be welcomed.

Thanks for posting! I'll definitely check this out, I have everything but the white peach. I will sub juicy peach and see how that goes.

Awesome definitely check this out. FA white peach is a great flavor if you haven't tried it yet.

FA Fig to me tastes kind of like an overripe pear that has been caramelized into syrup.

well that's basically what real figs taste like haha

Interesting. I have TFA pear candy I wonder how similar it would be to FA fig. I haven't tried it yet might make up a test batch see what it taste like.

Haven't tried Pear Candy but FA Fig is more of a blendable sweet and balanced pear flavor whereas TFA Pear is sharp tart and distinct in any mix.

I love Cayuga and have made some pretty pitiful attempts to clone it, the only ingredients I don't have out of this list are TFA Jackfruit and FA Papaya but I'll mix it up now and report back. I would really like to nail this one down.

Edit I can't help but think it's missing mango? As a S&V it's pretty tasty but I might swap the percentages on the Kiwis.

So I just looked and my order history and I've spent over $700 on Cayuga alone so I feel like I have some room to talk on the issue! The OP made an updated recipe a couple weeks ago. I took his and tweaked it a bit. I'm on mobile but check my post history and maybe try out my recipe! As I say in my post, I just made it so I'm waiting to see how much it changes and it's not 100% but it's Damn close. Just thought I'd help out if you're still interested!

Cayuga has been my adv for almost a year now and I'm still not sick of it. Recently got every flavor in the pic on their website (pineapple kiwi mango papaya) and made a 10% mix. Mango and papaya are strong flavors so I took 2 mils away from those and added an extra 2 mils of pineapple and kiwi respectively. I believe the pineapple and kiwi flavors are the stars of the show here and on my next batch I'll keep everything the same except I'll add enough kiwi and pineapple to bring the total flavoring to 12%, I think this will be closer. I went for broke on my first batch and made a 120ml bottle and the flavor is close enough to where I am enjoying vaping through it.

Can you post what you made up I know someone else mentionef the lack of mango in my recipe. Did you use all tfa? I have messed with the percentages since posting this. I tried increasing tfa papaya and tfa kiwi but the flavors are starting to mute and dull a little. I tried another version where I increase the pineapple and dragonfruit and fa papaya at first it was a little off after a steep though it tasted closer to cayuga.

I think my next batch I will play with the fa and tfa's papaya and kiwi percentages. And I think I missing mango.

This is for a 120ml bottle, it's too early for me to figure out exact %'s.

LA pineapple 6ml, LA mango 4ml, TFA papaya 4ml, TFA double kiwi 4ml.

I'm about 2 days away from finishing the first batch and the only change I'm going to make to the next batch is to add an extra ml of kiwi.

Leave out all the other flavors, just try these, I subscribe to the k.i.s.s. mentality and it has helped immensely with mixing eliquid.

edited a thing

Ok, I added another ml of the double kiwi and I must say, Its' delicious. I'm going to order a 10ml bottle of Cayuga to compare against, but after vaping it exclusively for a year I'm gonna say it's damn close.

5% LorAnn Pineapple
4% TFA Double Kiwi
3.25% TFA Papaya
3.25% LorAnn Mango

I mixed juice for a B&M for a couple years and a couple things I learned was try not to have more than 4 flavors in a recipe (the percentages get wonky and complicated over 4) not including additives such as sweetener or ethyl maltol. Also, when your flavoring starts getting over 10% - 12% the flavor will start to get worse/washed out. But both of those are covered by what I said earlier.....K.I.S.S. Keep it simple.

Edit: Formatting-n-Stuff

Nice I'm going to order some LA pineapple and mango then and see how close your recipe is. I think anyone looking for a cayuga clone will see this post and it will help them. I will report back here once I make this up and let you know what I think.

Dude! I was playing around with sampling flavors indivdually and you have to try this:

  • INW Pineapple 6%
  • INW Mango 2%
  • TFA Papaya 5%
  • FA Kiwi 2%

INW Pineapple is one of the few INW flavors that is not intensely strong, try it for yourself it tastes amazing at mid-higher percentages. Next batch I will try adding TFA Dragonfruit .5%, perhaps TFA Kiwi Double 1% as well.

The highest I have made INW Pineapple go is 4%. I know others have mentioned you can bring it up to 10%. Dragonfruit and pineapple share some overlaping ingredients so I thought mixing them together could make a interesting pineapple. I also read Dragonfruit used around 1% can help other ingredients blend together.

Another poster reckons he has come close to cloning this I'm just waiting for the two missing ingredients and will make it up and post here my thoughts.

I might try your mix aswell I have to order mango tho. Is your mix close to the original or is it just a great tasting mix. I think if you mix papaya, pineapple, kiwi and mango you get a cayuga tasting juice. Which flavoring companies used is what will nail this clone.

If you make any progress with your recipe post it here. I will be interested in reading anything that helps clone cayuga.

Im updating this post if anyone is looking for a cayuga clone and stumbles across this thread. As of now my lastest attempt is the closest. What I used was tfa pineapple and tfa mango and its definitely almost there. Here is my closest clone yet.

TFA papaya 5%

TFA kiwi double 5%

TFA pineapple 5%

TFA mango 2.5%

This is much simpler and alot closer to all previous attempts. Its about 90% there. TFA pineapple is definitely the right one. The only thing is the mango that I'm not sure yet. If you are wanting a clone use this recipe. If you have any feeedback or thoughts on this please go ahead and post here.

I was about to drop 90 bucks (well 70 because I had $20 off!) and spending that much on juice is rough since I started doing DIY. Tried doing my own Cayuga and it was awful lol. I had read this thread a while ago and no one seemed too sure on their recipes but now you have this update so I'm going to purchase now!

I've been using diyeliquidsupplies but their vendor variety is lacking. Any suggestion on a better supplier?

I should let you know that since posting this recipe I have change my mind on it. When first mixed it had that cayuga taste. As it has steeped it has lost that tartness cayuga is know for. I think it is because of over flavoring. TFA pineapple that I used smells really similar to cayuga although when mixed at the percentages I have used turns the mix slighty cloudy with Cayuga being clear. It's hard to this clone right. I suspect Adirondack are using high percentages and how they are doing this without muting the flavors is difficult for me to figure out.

What you could try is lowering these percentages and try using INW pineapple as well. Sorry if this wasn't the answer you are looking for. You could even try your own attempt using these recipes. I am still making different versions of this recipe trying to nail this.

As for a supplier you could use bullcity or gremlin diy or ecigexpress.

Please keep me posted! I already made the TFA order. If worse comes to worse, it sounds like it's a good juice regardless. I'll toy with it a bit too and see what I can come up with! Thanks for the reply

Here's my live action of making this:

Since you said the flavor was a little much I was going to do max VG with:

TFA papaya 4%
TFA kiwi double 4%
TFA pineapple 4%
TFA mango 2%

However I had my flavors in the wrong order and accidentally did 4% of everything and added 5 drops of Smooth (36ml batch to fit my adirondack bottle). Smells spot fucking on.

Putting a fresh wick on my RDA right now....

Ho. Ly. Shit. This is amazing!!! It's not 100% spot on but it is extremely close. One the flavors is coming through a little strong but i'm having trouble pinpointing which one. It's a little sweeter but i definitely enjoy it. It doesn't have the rounded out feeling that Cayuga does so I'm going to add 5 more drops of smooth and see.

I didn't notice a huge difference, maybe slightly, but it has the mouthfeel a bit more than before.

So here is the final recipe:

36ml - 3mg - Max VG

TFA papaya 4%
TFA kiwi double 4%
TFA pineapple 4%
TFA mango 4%
10 Drops Smooth

I will reply with how it changes, and before I do a larger batch. But I suggest you try it if you aren't completely satisfied with yours! Thanks again for updating your thread before i dropped 70 bucks. :)

I'm always extremely skeptical of anyone who puts a recipe with very specific amounts like: 4.8%

2 points

by simpsons6575almost 10 years ago

When I wrote this recipe down I originally had 4%. Then when I mixed it I overshot it using a syringe. The scale ended up at 0.48 so I just made a note I had done so. You could probably make it 5%. This was my first attempt at this clone and feel its a good recipe with alot of similarity to the original.

Don't feel bad for being specific. Some flavors, .2 percent won't make a huge difference. Others though, it will completely throw off your mix.

by FullMe7alJacke7almost 10 years ago

That is true... even thought its kinda more considered an additive, 0.2 of AP would make a huge difference (at least for me, I use it between 0.25 and 0.5%)

Not sure what "skeptical" means when it comes to e-liquid recipes but you'd be way skeptical of me. 0.2% increments work out well for my test batches and flavor bottles.
