Okay so first off I DID read the nicotine thing in the sidebar, I was just wondering about the bottle used to store nicotine and if its harmful to freeze/unfreeze again. I have been worried about nicotine being hard to get so I was going to get a liter of nicotine from ecx (only 40 bucks!!). I don't have 30 30mls to spare, only about 10-15maybe. Anyways I'd fill them up until there's only a half inch left, or a little more maybe, just enough to somewhat shake it or use the little bubble in it to mix it up when I thaw it. Then the rest I was going to use a few 250ML bottles BUT if I didn't have them at the time, could I use any air tight bottle? I hate to say this, but even maybe a cleaned soda bottle? I'd ensure the nic was filled to the neck to ensure no oxidization. And then when I ran out of 30 ML bottles of nicotine I'd use the same ones and fill with the nicotine in the larger bottle. Will this work well? Like freezing/thawing and freezing again? Thanks heaps.
In theory, you COULD use any storage container. Fuck, a dirty soup can with some tin foil on top COULD work. It's a matter of quality.
Light-blocking HDPE or colored glass are the way to go if you want quality.
I'm talking long term storage wrapped in something black. Idk how that would differ.
I'm not aware of effects that the nicotine would have on PET as compared to HDPE/LDPE(AFAIK the most common plastics for shipping/storing nicotine) but I DO know that some of the more abusive compounds are stored in LD/HDPE(LDPE being more common in foods, HDPE being more common in industrial compounds/cleaners)
In the end, it's up to you. I'd suggest getting bottles online, a small investment is worth more than the risk of a liter of nicotine going bad.

I had a 500 ml bottle from Nude Nicotine that I kept in the freezer and I thawed it out each time I filled my 30 ml bottle that I keep out at room temp. You can do the math if you want but that's a lot of freezing and thawing and a lot of air space toward the end of that bottle. I never noticed a dip in quality or flavor. It was clear when I first opened it and clear when it was nearly empty. I also mix for a number of friends and never had a complaint.
You can do whatever you want but my advice would be to keep it simple. This is not rocket science.
Assuming you are not exposing your base to light, are not concerned about spilling or tamper proofing, and you are not storing esters or aldehydes that can break down plastics, it all comes down to gas and vapor permeability of the material.
PET (soda bottle material) provides an excellent barrier to O2 permeability (0.035 P x 10^10) but a poor barrier to moisture (130 P x 10^10)
LDPE O2 permeability is 2.2 Px1010, moisture of 68.
HDPE is 0.3 and 9.
This permeation means your nic base will "go bad" - lower quality and viability - at some rate in the freezer. Only you can judge what lowered quality you are willing to accept and how soon you are willing to accept it's reaching that point.
Soda-lime glass is essentially impermeable. With a polycone cap, the surface area of non-glass material is minimized, providing practically unmeasurably low transmission rates. In essence, within reasonable timescales, the only gas and moisture it will interact with is what's already in the bottle.
Personally, I buy the highest quality 100mg/ml I can and bottle it frozen 48mg/ml 50/50 VG/PG in glass amber, polycone caps, well labelled as dangerous with lot numbers inside a vacuum sealed pouch. This handles gas permeability, leakage concerns, UV exposure, bacterial contamination, cross-exposure, and most cases of curiosity by visitors.
These bottles should stay viable until the chemical breakdown of the VG, which should be at least 3 years, and may be a decade.
my freezer is filled with nicotine. All in 250 ml amber glass bottles with polycone cap. Storing 100 mg in plastic would not be good because of leaching. I don't know about lower nic levels. I fill mine all the way up to the cap.As the liquid cools in the freezer it will contract forming a vacuum seal.

If I could be of any recommendation, the ideal situation would be to have multiple small bottles in the freezer. Each bottle is only enough volume for your use in a weeks time. The opening and closing of a bottle introducing oxygen will accelerate the oxidation of the nicotine. For some people a small amount of oxidation is very palatable, with a peppery taste almost immediately of compromised. To others, the flavor is much less noticeable, so it should be an experiment for yourself to see at what level oxidation becomes displeasing. Make sure to leave enough headspace volume like you noted for a good shake after complete saw, you will be golden!
