Fresh Lime Flavoring

Hi guys. Been lurking for quite sometime. Figured I'd post to ask a quick question.

Where can i find a good FRESH lime. Not a candy flavor, or lemon - lime.

TFA has some type of lime oil (does not contain pg/vg)

I've tried a few really good flavors that included lime in the background.

Cold Soul and Placid to be exact.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

INW Limetka
FA Cold Pressed
FLV Lime
TFA Key Lime (add small amounts of EM to reduce harshness.)

These are limes I think every collection needs. I tend to use a combo of FA Cold Pressed and FLV/INW lime when I'm in need of an actual lime.

Key lime is great overall, but it has a harshness and it can bother your throat at high enough %

I do something similar. I use primarily FA cold pressed, but add some Capella lemon lime for the main note in my adv.

To add to the TFA Key Lime discussion , I've found that the harshness dies down after a week, and then the flavor intensity seems to wane after another 5 - 7 days. I had a super-harsh watermelon/cactus/lime juice that became beautiful between week 1 and 2, but then lost the lime zing after 15 days or so.

FLV Lime reminds me more of lime soda than a real lime.

Agreed, in a couple of recipes where I've tried using it, it starts to taste like soda.. even tasted like cola in one instance (yes it's weird)

Flavour Art Lime Tahity Cold Press is a nice,fresh real lime flavor. Not just punch you in the face tart, but a combo of some of the floral essence of the zest and the tart of the liquid.

In a bind, TFA Key Lime seems to be the closest easy to obtain in high volume flavor I've found - it's real lime essence so it carries through in the flavor.

I found that both Flavor Art Limes (Distilled and Cold Pressed) have this candy-like taste that I really don't like.

TFA key lime works best for me at this point, although FLV Lime is nice as well, but has dominant zesty notes, which may not be what you're after.

I just use straight up lime juice from the grocery store for my key lime pie recipe.

Yeah! It works great. I also pair it with key lime from the flavor apprentice in the recipe.
