What up, jive turkeys? I thought it was time to post this up, as I've been playing with it for the past couple months now, trying to get it where I want it to be at. I think I finally have it dialed in, and wanted to see what you guys thought. As with most of my recipes, I try to keep the flavors pretty common. There's nothing I hate more than seeing a recipe that looks amazing and having to go on a week-long venture to find the flavor in stock somewhere. This is probably going to be one of my longer notes list. Don't hate me for it.

A little background "who gives a shit" story. I've never been really interested in tobacco vapes in the past. When I smoked, it was always either menthol, Camel Turkish Royal, or Marlboro 27. I liked something a bit different than the standard Marlboro Lights. That being said, when I started vaping, it was more about flavor than nicotine satisfaction, although that does play a big role still. I've recently had a weird random craving for something tobacco. Not sure why..it just sounded good after over a year of not tasting tobacco, other than a recipe mentioned below. Anyway. Sorry. Continuing.
The only "tobacco" flavor I have is TFA's RY4 Double. Call me out on it; I don't care. I like it. (A good friend on here offered to send a good tobacco flavor for me to try, so I'm probably going to be diving down that rabbit hole soon.) I wouldn't really consider it a tobacco flavor, because if you have it, you know it's 90% caramel with a hint of tobacco. Because of this, I don't really want to call this a tobacco flavor at all. However, with the hint of tobacco, it makes it definitely more interesting than just a caramel apple.
FA Fuji Apple shares the spotlight with RY4D here, and it shares that spotlight very well. Fuji with any sort of caramel has been delicious to me, but the RY4D seemed to be the caramel profile I've been trying to make work with a caramel apple. FA Caramel also plays well with Fuji, but it lacks a little something. RY4D has a little more robust "earthy" caramel taste, and with the tobacco hint, it really throws in a little extra surprising flavor to the mix.
FA Butterscotch was a great accidental discovery in this recipe. I've always loved FA Butterscotch mixed with caramel. It doesn't scream "butterscotch" when mixed with caramel, but it helps thicken the caramel taste and add a little more dark sweetness I feel is missed when working when FA Caramel. I've had luck mixing FA Butterscotch with Fuji, and thought it might add some interesting notes. Yup. It did. It pushes the caramel from the RY4D to more of a caramel apple dip, if you've had that.
FA Vienna Cream when paired with RY4D adds a really nice creamy bite. I honestly wouldn't have added this if it weren't for RocketPuppy's RY4 recipe here. This was the recipe that made me order RY4 Double in the first place, and I loved what Vienna Cream did in that recipe.
I usually mix 30/70, but went with max VG on this. By doing that, I think it helps the thickness of the butterscotch/caramel combo to linger a little longer on the tongue. I still taste this after a good 10 seconds, and a good recipe turns into a great recipe for me when it can do that.
This is actually pretty good as a shake-and-vape since the RY4D isn't too high to require a long aging time. I would really recommend at least a week for this to fully develop and get that lingering feel. 2 weeks and it's perfection, and it doesn't change too much after that.
Thank you. Seriously. I haven't mixed it quite yet but I must say you and I share a similar background. I've been vaping for a little over a year at this point. I struggled with finding the perfect gear, etc. most times it was easier to light up a cigarette and in the past month or so I've started smoking heavily.
I discovered the RocketPuppy clone and fell in love with it. RY4D gives me just enough of that something I needed from smoking. The FA Vienna Cream plays very well to give you that bite you mention. The other flavors in general are just an absolute win no matter which recipe they're in.
I greatly look forward to adding this in my lineup. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Let me know if you like it.
Recipe looks great and I have all the flavorings so I'll give it a go. How is ry4 double in comparison to ry4? I have 30ml that I haven't touched in a year (can't get away from the plane old ry4). I wasn't too happy with it when I originally got it, probably because I didn't bother waiting 2-3 weeks for it to steep and then I just got plane lazy.
I always get a chapsticky aftertaste from green apple flavorings. i understand how that sounds. Hopefully something in here mellows that out.
Nice, I don't have butterscotch or vienna cream though. I feel like the RY4^RY4 quickly takes over the other flavors for me after 1-2%. However I am pumping like 40-70watts into my coils @ any given time.
Fuji reminds me somewhat of Apple flavored Skoal, in a good way.lol I forgot that I used to dip at one point in high highschool, where it was socially acceptable amongst most staff (gross). Oddly, Fuji reminds me of tobacco, like some sort of weird olfactory mondegreen.
Muthafuckin Apple Pharaoh is a genius idea for an autumn/winter time vape.
I'm going to attempt making this into a predominantly tobacco flavor w/ hints of apple 'n cream. I will update in a week or two.
I'm glad to see the recent popularity in tobacco. There were about 80 different flavors between the vendors @ BCV last time i checked.
Let me know what you come up with. I fear you're going to make me start NET, growing my own tobacco, finding ways to make hybrid plants, etc.
It's over. Give up. Move to Nicaragua. Buy plantation.SubCriticalCO2 setup. Become a drug lord
call it a day
Srsly though, if you go the NET route I can tell you the more medium to mild cigars produce a better flavor. The more robust cigars I've vaped, all had that super in your face, dark, tobacco flavor. Whereas the others have a more delicate tobacco leaf type flavor, that's easier to work with.
I did lose a bottle of extract though so I haven't had as much time to play around with robust, but those mixes were the tobacco equivalent of black coffee
If the flavor is musty, dark, or dusty I wld recommend lowering the %
