Vg from bull city vapor went extremely watery. Why?
submitted almost 10 years ago by theneuroticnightowl

I got some vg from bull city and it was dope vg, thick, clean, oderless. I made 3 beta mixes all in 30ml and after a week lf steeping they smelled horrible, they were all max vg but looked like like max pg, and then I looked at the vg and that also became watery.

VG is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture from the air). This would thin it, make sure your containers are airtight.

Well that doesn't sound good, how was it stored? I'd contact the vendor and see if they've had other people experience this.

VG tends to thin out if it's heated a bit. I know the VG I keep in my room is a little thinner since my room is always warm.

Would you recommend keeping vg in a cool place like with the nic in a mini fridge near your work area ?

I've never had any issues with my VG by not storing it in a cool, dark area so I really don't know. I go through a liter of VG in about 2-3 weeks so I've never had it long enough to notice any quality degradations. If you buy in bulk though to the point where it can take you quite a while to go through all of it then it may be a good idea to store it in a fridge.

Optimal storage temperature for both PG and VG is room temperature. You can freeze your nic if you want, to hinder oxidation...
