Always found it interesting how everyone is always trying to make really accurate versions of foods. Not knocking this pursuit at all, but I always found it a bit funny and absurd that we're so obsessed with figuring out how to make what is essentially a single shot of flavor in vapor form equatable to an ideal experience of eating something.
part of me doesn't really care what something is "supposed to be" as long as it's novel, stimulating, and delicious. Vaping is pretty damn futuristic and we can literally combine any number of aromas to create an experience that we can't get through eating food.
So I ask... what's the best recipe you've tried that goes beyond mimicry and creates something out of nothing? What flavor makes your brain so confused that you have no idea what just happened after you vape it?
I just picked up a bottle of Medicine Flower Jasmine Flavor, because one of my favorite vapes of all time was Virgin Vapor's "Night Blooming Jasmine" and they use MF, so, for a little more than the price of a single 20ml bottle, I should be able to swim in the stuff now. Doesn't taste like any food, just a straight floral, and not only is it delicious, but people will intentionally walk into my clouds.
Been trying to work with FA Rose and TFA Rose Candy lately on a similar tip. Haven't really tasted a rose flavor that wasn't an accent note. But I once saw this girl at a club and she was carrying around this rose water in a spray bottle just purifying the air with it and it smelled so good.
Let me know if you get anywhere. I'm desperate to make a good rose and have been experimenting with these two as well.
Working on a Nectarine Rose Macaron flavor that I'll probably share soon. Nectarine and rose go fucking amazing together. But they sort of create this odd mega flavor that's not quite either rose nor nectarine. I think they're in the same family? Have yet to go after something that is primarily 'rose'.
Have you ever had Lancaster & York by Whit E Octopus? Straight up rose vape. Pretty refreshing actually, tasted exactly like rose water smells.
I guess my point is that it certainly can be done, though I'm not sure what flavorings they use.
I know INW also has a rose flavoring.
My .02 - Lemon lime. Lemon lime and rose candy (both TFA) were a match made in heaven.
Nanner Bear, and the clone to a lesser extent. Some sweetener gets the clone a little closer to the authentic version.
I also enjoy the Perpetual Check clone.
Neither of these has a real-world analogue.

Epicurean by VapeHub was a juice I recall enjoying a lot. Supposedly it's a strawberry custard with energy drink but the shit is good, it didn't taste like any of that, if anything it tasted like smarties or something. I'll have to order a bottle and give it another taste now that I've been vaping a while
