I recently got back from Disney World and had a revelation after going on a few rides/attractions. I would kill to try and find an identical flavor to that from the orange grove scene on Soarin'. Anyone else have an obscure flavor they wish they could have???
It's not necessarily "obscure," but I'm working on a recipe to try and emulate the Old Fashioned cocktail. The difficult part is getting the bitters flavour in there.
Why not make your own? Here is a recipe for bitters. I know some of those ingredients are available as flavors, so maybe you just need to find the right mix?
I remembered seeing /u/PlatinumRespect had one here
Avocado... Long story.
I know i have seen avocado somewhere. I will be hunting the web for you.
adit: well that took shorter than expected, kind of anticlimatic really. here
They also have some others that are a bit unusual, like wild strawberries, paradise apple, plum and mulled wine.
I have now idea what quality their flavors are thou.
I love wild strawberries from molin berry, it's such a peculiar flavor. It tastes quite synthetic and unlike wild strawberries, then you mix it with other berries and vape it for a while and suddenly realize you're vaping spot on wild strawberries and get all sentimental about your childhood and.. anyway, avocado =) Can you vape avocado?
One day, when I'm all growed up as a DIY-er, I'll tackle Clark's Teaberry gum.
"Teaberry" is actually wintergreen. Clarke's is essentially bubblegum flavor without the vanilla and light on the clove.
I realized after sending who I'm talking to, and you probably already know this, with your rootbeer experiments.
:)
Clark's is extremely specific though, it's going to be one of those recipes that I have to pin down to the gnat's ass because if it's wrong, she'll know.
This is going to be a surprise present for my mom, the woman who introduced me to the gum when I was a kid and quit smoking with me 2 years ago.
Let me know what you think about this- I think if you pump up the wintergreen in this recipe, and maybe add 0.1% clover

Gulab Jamun. It's an Indian sweet and it's delicious. They're like donut balls in sugar syrup but they have a very distinct taste that I haven't been able to nail down.
A good kheer flavor would be amazing
I have actually been working on one for months and what I have so far is pretty damn good. Maybe I'll share it one day when it's ready.
This is only tangentially related, but, have you (or has anyone else) tried any cardamom flavoring liquids? I was looking at it as a "maybe someday" flavor, but couldn't justify it in my first order, which had already grown wildly out-of-hand. It seems like it would be extremely tough to work with, and ultimately, of limited use, but, has anyone ever tried it in a mix?
It's been on my "Should try this" list. I feel like it'll be a 1 drop per 10mL kind of flavor but I just need to pull the trigger and pick it up.
We have a regional dessert here called "Indian Pudding" which is cornmeal-based, uses lots of cream, is heavily autumnally spiced (cinnamon, nutmeg), and is sweetened with dark molasses. It's been years since I've had it, but, I've got a cookbook with the authentic recipe, so, I'm thinking of making some up, yanno, for research purposes. I think it would make an incredible, but really freaking daunting vape project.
If you ever accomplish this, or give it a go, I'd be willing to be a test subject. If you've ever been to durgin park in Quincy market, they make an incredible Indian pudding.
Oooh, good to know! I thought it was one of those obscure recipes that was lost in time. I know that there was only ever one cook book in my mom's vast library that ever offered a recipe (The New England Cookbook by Brooke Dojny - which also has a ton of other really exceptional recipes) but this was long before the internet. Now, the recipes are out there, but it's such a finicky, labor-intensive dish that few would bother. It'll be awhile before I get comfortable enough with mixing to try it, but, if I have any success at all, I'll keep you guys posted and I'll definitely post any good recipes.
A medium rare porter house cooked on a 500°f cast iron pan for 5 minutes on each and back in the oven for another 5. The steak seasoned only with salt and pepper. The taste of the char and seasonings complementing the tenderness of the stake bombards the taste buds on the inhale. Then the red wine reduction sauce and mushroom softly kisses the pallet on a slow exhale of pure steak nirvana.
Thai Tea
I think there is kind of a complexity to the flavor profile aside from the milky/ cream on the palate. Black tea is hard to nail down. Also any tea flavor in general i have noticed is hard to perfect, most i try i'm not impressed with as a tea drinker.
I've got a boatload of the leaves on hand and make it on occasion. It's mostly black tea with a boatload of sugar... Maybe some cinnamon and nutmeg as well.... But so much sugar that I rarely make it. The flavor is definitely awesome though, and if you ever come up with a recipe, I'm down to try it!
Fucking seduce juice's Dharma is pretty damn close, but i cannot for the life of me pick it apart to even begin to start trying to replicate it.
Campfire smell. Not hickory smoke but the aroma of burning conifers. Hell any pine type flavor would be cool. Feel like a spruce based dessert might be nice.
This is something I've wanted as well. I've bean meaning to order some flavors to try it out, but never do. Have you tried a combination of FA Black Fire and Oak Wood?
Haven't really delved into it yet still chasing a few other recipes before I jump in. But would really like to develop a simple 'campfire marshmallow'. Feel like the subtle aroma of sitting next to a fire could be interesting. versus... the riveting flavor of burnt sugar.
was trying to find a non-tobacco flavor based approach to this but tobacco already kind of smells like setting a pile of leaves on fire so it does make sense.
I was just thinking about this some more. TFA Mary Jane's spec sheet makes it seem like it could be an interesting flavor to work with. I haven't tried it, but there's some piney terpenes that might help get the flavor you're looking for. It in addition to the other flavors I asked about it might actually get you pretty close.
I'm gonna pick up Black Fire and Mary Jane with my next order and experiment with it.
Loquat, Gooseberry, Guanabana, and Tamarind flavors
i have been wanting to recreate a guanabana flavor for so long! i have no idea where to begin. and i have also been considering getting nudenic's tamarin'doh flavor. if you manage to pin down any of the ones you listed, lmk!
Muscat flavor. All the grapes have a chalkiness that I can't seem to hide behind the complimenting notes.
I gre up drinking this stuff, but I have NO idea where to even begin to replicate this stuff.
I have always wanted to make a smooth and creamy chai latte. Im pretty sure theres tons of recipes, but being a (cocky) chef, i want to create the recipe myself! Ive gotten pretty close, but its just not there. I always get one flavour overpowering another lol. Its pretty good so far, and better than any of the ones ive bought, but i want to perfect this as im 99% sure it would become my new ADV :)
Beef stew. With hints of steamed carrots and black pepper
I've never found a food vape that I like, but the dream is a malasada juice. Google and be amazed.
correct me if I'm wrong but would a malasada have much of a different flavor profile than a donut ?
They're similar, but (a) it depends if you're incorporating a filing into the flavor, and (b) because the center isn't cut out, like a donut, there is less surface area, and accordingly the flavor is less greasy / fried and more yeasty with a subtle sweetness to the dough.
Though now that I think about it the best thing about them is texture, which I suppose would be impossible to capture in a vape.
