Wizard Labs Nicotine Harsh?
submitted almost 10 years ago by Vurve

I've seen people describe their Nic as peppery, but I don't really get a peppery taste per se. It's just incredibly harsh. Right now, I'm vaping at 1.5. It's harsh on the inhale, and burns on the exhale. I've even mixed up a straight VG + Nic juiced with no flavor and got the same result. I can't even imagine how this would be capable at 3mg.

Is this what people mean by "peppery"?

That does sound like a bad/oxidized batch :(

I order a lot of nicotine from the Wizard and haven't run into problems, the bottles are argon-sealed and the nicotine has always been clear & pure. They're known for good CS -- perhaps try contacting them?

I don't shake my VG nic and I have never noticed! :-)

Did you shake the nic before mixing? But ya, nic is peppery in a sense that it has a spicy sensation.

Definitely shook it up before using

I've had similar results with wizard labs. Did your nicotine show up with a slightly pinkish\amber color to it?

I did too. Try vapeclarity. They got some good stuff.

Vapeclarity is the best.

ill chime in as well as unsatisfied with wizard labs nic, and the kicker is they ignored my complaint.

I'll have to double check when I get home, but I believe it did have a pale amber tint

Let me guess...VG based nic?

Yup. After doing more research, I now see this was a poor decision. However, I have been sure to shake the living daylights out of the Nic before using it.

Go with Vaporstek, Nude, Carolina Extract and if you can't afford those MFS is better than Wizard and ECX and other lesser known brands.

I'll be going with nude next time.

I used wizard labs out of convenience and ended up wasting a little bit of money.

Nudes good but their CS can be very up and down . I always go with Vaporstek , ultra clean nic and fast shipping.

I'm also having this problem with Nude Nicotine. If I go 3mg it's okay but anything higher is super harsh, even after shaking the hell out of it.

Thanks for the input guys. I just ordered Nude nicotine.

Not going to bother with customer service. Not worth the whopping $6 I spent.

Nice, you'll have your nic in 4-6 weeks.

For real? Why do I hear such good things with ridiculous lead times like this?

4-6 weeks is an exaggeration. But seriously, if it's in the mail before next Friday, I'd buy a lottery ticket. Average about 7 days before they even print the shipping label.

Edit: Why do people recommend them? For the most part, we don't The people that still do either ordered from them back when they were good, or are fiercely loyal to them and would order from them if it took 6 months to ship. There's even been talk about removing Nude from the official recommended list. Vape Clarity is the new kid in town that is doing an unbelievable job.

Did you contact them to let them know there is a problem at least? If you inform them of this it might prevent future problems from occurring and score you some free nic in the process.

I'll do that tonight. Good thinking

I haven't had any harshness from mine, and it is clear. Their QC is not up to par.

I ordered wizard labs ($56 worth) a couple months ago and have noticed a slightly harsh flavor in some of my juices. Because of what I've seen on /r/DIY_eJuice I decided a month ago to also pick up $60 of nude nicotine. Just switched over tonight, but I think I'm going to just write off my Wizard Labs order as a loss and stick with Nude Nicotine. I haven't done any 1 to 1 flavor tests yet but the 3 juices I've made tonight have been really smooth.

Vaping on some right now, not peppery or harsh at all. I've only ever bought from them because they're so close to me (~an hour away), and the only thing I've had that was harsh was a few specific flavors, not the nic itself.

Looks like I'm in the minority.
