New to Juice making questions about VG and PG.

Hey guys. So I am finally ready to make the plunge into making my own e-juice. I just did some research on this thread and ordered a bottle of Carolina Nicotine and now I am wondering what is the best VG/PG out there. I just want to know that I am getting quality stuff. DIY makes juice so cheap I don't feel a need to cheap out on the ingredients.

I'm partial to Essential Depot for both. You can order small quantities from Amazon to try it out. If you like it, you can order large quantitates more cost effectively directly from essentialdepot.com.

If you order the 2 gallon deals it's free shipping, that's what I did before. Even the shipping on just a quart of VG from them is $15 so nearly $30 for the quart, or 2 gallons of VG(or 1x PG and 1x VG) for ~$40 shipped free.

If you order via Amazon you can get quarts with free shipping. <$25 for 2qts - Plus 2 day shipping if you do the Prime thing.

I can't justify buying gallon sizes. At the rate I go through them I'd be concerned with bacterial growth in an opened gallon of VG.

From what I'm seeing you should use it within 12-18 months once the bottle is opened. You should also be storing it in a cool dry place with the cap on tight to get that amount of time. I can't say I follow those rules exactly but mine is still doing just fine, no weird smells or discoloration. As far as storing a sealed never opened bottle, that shelf life is very long.

Anyway, I could easily go through more than a gallon in a year so that isn't really an issue for me. I bought my 2 gallons in may and I'm almost done with one of them now. I'd say there is a 1/4 or so of the first gallon left.

Bulk Apothecary sells pretty good VG. Also, it makes for the best lube I've ever used in my life.
