Beginner here, still confused after the guidelines, could use some help
submitted almost 10 years ago by ChroniCxBluR

A friend and I are looking to get into this, and make one very easy recipe in bulk. After reading the sidebar, I saw nothing about low nicotine or nicotine free recipes, and we were wondering about how possible that would be. Also, we really don't know too much about what I need to buy, or where to find the cheapest price for PG & VG liquids, as well as pipettes and containers. I really don't want a starter kit, but materials to make a large bulk amount of a simple recipe. Any help?

If you don't want nic in your mix, just use one of the e-juice calculators linked in the sidebar and enter a 0 value for nicotine strength/percentage. The calculator will tell you how much PG, VG, flavoring you need without the nic.

Three websites that should have anything you need to get started are Wizard Labs, Bull City Vapor, and Ecig Express.

And for a simple recipe you might like try Mustard Milk by /u/fizzmustard, search the sub or ELR

You don't have to use nic. Just buy everything else and leave it out.

If you like max VG I suggest NOT buying PG. I BARELY use mine. Amazon has a gallon of VG for $20. WAY cheaper than buying a small amount every week. Saves a lot of money.

I'm planning a 70 VG 30 PG split, what would you advise

That's pretty decent. If you are fine with between 80-90% VG you won't even need to buy PG. But if you are using a crappy tank (older subohm tank with higher resistance) I wouldn't advise going over 80% VG as you may get dry hits. If you are using an RDA or a decent RTA I'd def mix max VG. I always mix max VG and the only difference I've noticed is more vapor production.

I bought a gallon of VG and a quart of PG from http://www.essentialdepot.com/ it is food grade and they have great prices.
