As promised, I was going to name my first recipe after the one and only /u/weender. I know it isn't much, but it took a long time to perfect the Kiwi and Strawberry blend. After doing so, I was still missing something, so I reached out to /u/iwillnoteatgreeneggs for help. He suggested that I try TFA Bavarian cream for mouthfeel. After mixing, i noticed that the bav cream was still coming through in the flavor, so I set it aside. A week later, I tried it again and it was perfect! The Bavarian cream flavor subsided, and left only a full, dense feel.
I then went to mix, and realized that I didn't have enough TFA Strawberry, so I replaced 4% with TFA Strawberry Ripe, and let it sit for a week. Holy shit! It was even better!
Anyways, here's the recipe
It needs a week of steeping.
P.s. I know it's not much to the seasoned mixers, but I thought I would share for the newbies (like myself), looking for a simple ADV that they can quickly mix. Any thoughts to better this recipe is greatly appreciated.
/u/iwillnoteatgreeneggs /u/weender
/u/weender might enjoy...though he might think there ain't enough TFA Honeydew. Consider adding in around 10% of it?
.3 Bav cream is too little for me, I wouldn't even notice that. But I suppose that's the point...I do have all of these flavors. I'll mix it up and let you know what i think, even though I know a steep is required. I'll probably go ahead and tweak it too, I've had kiwi sitting around just haven't felt inspired enough to use it.
Edit: I did it. It's a nice strawberry with a hint of kiwi but there's a few routes I wanna take it. I dont like strawberry ripe. I prefer CAP sweet strawberry and FLV strawberry. I'll let this bottle sit and hopefully that dash of Bav cream adds the feel. In the meantime...I'm gonna mix up 2 different strawberry kiwi variations. One with sweet cream and a touch of marshmallow and the other with cactus and pear for and juicy and fruity feel.
A small amount of lime complements kiwi well imo, if you're still looking to tweak. Perhaps 0.5% or so.
Always looking to tweak. How will the lime react in such a low dosage?
I always imagine it enhances the fruity flavors a bit, though I've never compared, but it does give a nice subtle citric undertone and a sweet aftertaste imo.
Edit: Try 5 drops of kiwi, 1 drop of lime and a teaspoon of sugar in a 500ml bottle of water and shake i up, at least the "germanflavours" brand of kiwi I use makes for a tasty drink =) And the lime is just spot on as a complement.
Edit 2: A word (I'm tired)
I mixed it up like this (too impatient to let bavarian cream steep atm) and it turned out really sweet and fruity after a shake:
% | Brand | Flavor ----- | ----- | ----- 5%|GF|Kiwi 5%|CAP|Sweet Strawberry 1%|FA|Pear 0.5%|FA|Lime Cold Pressed 1%|FA|Meringue 1%|FA|Cream Fresh
Looks like a solid first recipe that I will have to tweak and give a try. The combination of strawberry ripe TFA and strawberry sweet CAP is my personal strawberry preference. That Bavarian cream is damn good, but I can't put less than 2% in any concoction. Gonna try it later without the kiwi and more Bavarian cream. With flavors that good it's hard to go wrong as long as you keep it simple and don't overflavor.
I'm pumped to try this....mostly because I'm so tired of my own juice and need a refresher, and this sounds FRIGGIN delicious.
I suggest Bavarian Cream to be upped to at least 1% and a total of strawberry flavors no more than 7-8%. Other than that, it sounds great! Kiwi looks on point as well. My FIRST recipe was 18% BlueRasp Cotton Candy CAP and 6% Sweet and Tart TFA. WAYYYY too much berry. So imo you have a great first recipe.
Wait. You were the one to recommend the Kiwi strawberry to me over a week ago.. I had a few people that offered to buy some from me it was so good. 4% Kiwi FA, and 10% Strawberry TFA. What do?
I mixed this up a week ago and started vaping it this morning. No clue on how to improve it since it's pretty damn tasty as is. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
youre the second person to tell me they liked it. you dont understand how happy it makes me :)
Aw, I'm glad! I think I started getting into DIY around the same time you did, and so far, I've mostly been mixing up recipes that are shared here; none of the ones I come up with have been very good.
So keep on making awesome recipes! You're good at it!
