Some of you might remember banana paddlepops. I'm not sure if they were only an Australian thing, but they had (have? Man I'm getting old) a lion as their mascot, and they're basically a very strong banana flavoured ice cream on a stick, sold for $1 at the local fish and chips shop.
I set out to recreate that flavour, mostly because I just got my scales in and wanted to make a juice up, and also because I fucking love banana and I love paddlepops.
Anyway, here's the recipe.
Ingredient | % ---|--- Banana Cream TFA | 3% Fresh Cream FA | 1% French Vanilla TFA | 3% Toasted Marshmallow TFA | 3% Banana Ripe TFA | 3% Vanilla Bean Gelato TFA | 2%
Mix to 75% VG.
The Vanilla Bean Gelato gives it that tang, along with the Banana Ripe. They both worth really well together.
The Banana Cream is a more mellow banana, and adds to the soft creamy base. Fresh Cream is in there because it is great, and gives it a little bit more creaminess without adding too much flavour. The Toasted Marshmallow gives it that sweetness which it needs, it's a bit... bland without it. You could probably use EM or Sucralose in there instead, but I wanted that almost caramel flavour that comes with the Toasted Marshmallow.
If you wanted it to feel like an ice cream, perhaps .5-1% of Koolada would help. I haven't tried that, though.
Overall, pretty happy with this juice. Let me know if you try it or if you add anything else!
I'll give it a week before this pops up as a juice on some aussie vape stores. #justsaying
PS can we make this an Aussie-only thread? I recognise like 90% of the usernames in here as locals, haha
Where is the drop-bear-guard option....
I wouldn't mind, as long as I got a credit. Haha
Ha! That's funny.
I know, wishful thinking :P
I'd be a bit pissed if I saw someone making money off of it and not even mentioning where it came from, but honestly I don't think it's good enough to sell.
It's tasty sure, but would I pay for it? Probably, actually.
I don't remember what my point was.
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
> Hey guys, I've got this awesome custard, it's the best! And totally not a grants VC clone! $15 for 15ml
John Connor, I'm looking at you.
Not even who I was suggesting (seriously :)
I did a double take when I read paddlepops haha! Cool to see you creating an Australia ice cream flavour! I have it saved and will make it up when I get Toasted Marsh and Fresh Cream from VE. Cheers!
For anyone that's never heard of Paddlepops, I consulted my Aussie friend.
They can indeed confirm that normal Paddlepops are amazing.
I'll definitely be trying this out soon. I still haven't found my ADV..
Banana paddle pops are basically like what you would want a frozen banana to taste like. If they are ever discontinued I will probably off myself. (only half serious)
This is making me regret my investment into FA, damn you. I'm only missing all the TFA flavours.
Hey, it might work with just the Fresh Cream.
Haha :P
Honestly the only reason I use mostly TFA is because they're the cheapest on VE.
Next order I'm going to get some FA, and some CAP, and probably some INW too.
God damn this money pit of a hobby. Hahah
I think I've done FA Banana + Fresh Cream before and it was great, but too plain I think. TFA is cheaper but you have to use more of it (although they do come in 15ml instead of 10ml).
Money pit that's for sure. My list of 'flavours to buy' is never empty.
