My EJuice Lab Updates
submitted almost 10 years ago by SJHarrison1992

Hi all

Since my last post I've had plenty of feedback and suggestions and would like to let you all know how it's going

Some of the new features include

Custom Inventory Categorization You can now input your custom categories in the settings page and place your concentrates in the categories

Import / Export - You can export your whole database and import it when required, this is aimed for when you change device

Import - Import CSV files into your inventory so that you don't have to input each concentrate one by one

API Reduction - Now available for Android API 17+ (Jellybean)

General enhancements and improvements as they come in

Future work

Shopping List I'm going to create a shopping list where you can manually input concentrates you want to purchase and the app will give you an overall of how much money your going to need. Once you have purchased the concentrate(s) you'll be able to click a 'Bought' button and it will automatically go into your Inventory

On top of this I'm going to create a populate from inventory function where you input a minimal amount of ml, if the concentrates in your inventory is below this figure then it will automatically put the concentrates into your shopping list - again you'll be able to click bought button and it will update the record that's already in your inventory

Batch Numbers - A user has requested giving the mix you have made a batch number and be able to view all the different batches you've mixed to see how they differ My initial idea is to have a new screen where you can select the recipes you'e created from a combo box - once selected you'll be able to click which batch from a another combo box which is populated once you select a recipe What data is displayed at the moment I'm unsure of, if any of you have any suggestions please let me know

Further Import / Export - I'm going to create the options on the recipe page to be able to import / export recipes so you have the option to share them with your friends

If any one can think of anything else they'd like to see in an app please leave a comment and I'll add it to my to do list :)

Again this is something that I'm doing in my spare time so can't guarantee a time for updates coming out however I've probably done around 10 since the 2 weeks it's been on google play

Here are the links for google play just as a reminder

Thank you both /u/daath and /u/SJHarrison1992 . Just way too many B&M out there selling EGO pens, CRAP juice, and spreading Ignorant Rumors. You guys are helping pave the way for DIY. I would love to see a top recipes list for this item when I went to buy said item.

You've essentially taken what I've been doing on excel for the past few months, complete with price calculation, and thrown it in a mobile app. I'm excited for it! I'll give the free version a try for a bit...I'll likely have the paid version by next week. Thanks!

Yeah gives output by weight and volume, the above is only the list of updates that I've done since my last post on here, there are many more features

Does your app have the option to mix by weight as well as volume?

Buying your app now to support. Do you think it is possible to link up with the ejuice recipe database from http://e-liquid-recipes.com?

Hmm doubt the makers of that website would allow it to be honest with you! They have their own calcualtor so don't think it would benefit them

ELR will get its own app (iOS, Android and Windows) - exactly when, I don't know.

I have thought about opening up ELR a bit to other developers, but that's in the not-so-near future, because there is a lot of stuff I want to fix first...

/u/daath, you working on a mobile app for elr? Or would you be willing to partner with someone for a mobile app?

Not working on it right now - I am going to do one - question is when. I've had several offers to cooporate on one, but I declined them all so far...

Nifty app. Took a quick look at it. Few suggestions:

  • When the keyboard pops up, it blocks a part of the view. Could you make it so that we can still scroll through to leave the keyboard on display?

  • Don't force inventory for flavors. Let us type in a flavor or choose one from the drop down list.

Great app!

Will sort out the view for when the keyboard opens, however the main purpose of the app is to have stock control for your inventory, if I do it so that you can manually input your concentrates then it's open to user error where something is spelled incorrect for example and their expecting the values to be removed from their inventory

Thanks for the suggestions!
