Could be a fun idea for a vendor to include an Ikea style one sheet with instructions on making a flavor rack out of the shipping box.
Looks nice i didnt want to buy a nail polish rack so might give this a shot! Any pro tips or instructions?
Funny, I used cardboard for mine too! Three shelves of venetian blinds held together by five cardboard pieces holding upwards of 100 flavors and it's perfectly stable. Took like half an hour to craft :)
Shitty pic but here it is: http://imgur.com/BQyZHaC
Damn I really like that! Time to go to Goodwill!
Holy shit. That does look nice. As somebody new to this mind telling me how long it took you to gather such a large collection? And how much did all that cost?
I'm getting into DIY for the potential cost savings, hope I won't need to get that many to make some different mixes.
Cheers :) I've only been mixing for maybe 6 months and if you find a store that carries everything you want, you could just order everything at once. But that's the problem, finding vendors that carry the brands and flavors you want. If you even know what you're looking for. I've bought a ton of flavors just to try them out, knowing nothing about them in advance. Some I still use regularly, some I'll possibly never touch again.
So in that regard, I've wasted money for sure, but no more than I would have wasted buying cigarettes or premium juice. But I try not to think about the cost too much, my first priority has been to keep me off cigarettes and with all these flavors I can whip up whatever the hell I want, whenever I want. It doesn't always come out all that tasty, but it sure is fun to try :D
If your only goal is to save money, start out small and simple! Get a few hundred ml at the most of premixed PG/VG with the nic level you want and maybe 10 flavors that are popular, have a recipe or two in mind in advance. This will get you started and if you enjoy the process, you can always order more later.
The problem with those is, if you accidentally knock one bottle over, others will follow. Sorta like dominoes. It used to happen to me fairly often.
You just gave me an idea for a new 3d printed model to build. Wouldn't be to hard to model and I could add in slots for retaining rails and/or wall mounting holes
Oh neat idea! I've been trying to justify buying one of those. It would certainly have its uses =)
I picked up a davinci 1.0 off of Newegg for 500 and it has done me great. The printer takes a little while to dial in and most people's models are useless for what you are trying to do but if you have patience and the willingness to learn to model yourself is a great buy. I use mine for miniature wargaming, building household objects, electronics prototyping, and other various projects. It's definatly not a fast process but it's a great hobby and is always awesome to go "I wish there was a vape holder for my car's cup holder. .. Maybe I will make one..."
FA flip-top caps..argh. Why FA? Why?
I hated them too until I figured out that squeezing the sides of the cap opens it with ease, now it's actually convenient!
