Looking to make my custard taste more eggy
submitted almost 10 years ago by munchidk

Anyone know any of flavors that bring out the eggyness a good custard. Grandma made Italian egg custard last night, and as soon as I had some I knew I had to create the flavor. But the egg side of the custard is killing me

1 part LA NY Cheesecake + 2 parts CAP Vanilla Custard, might be what you are looking for. TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust could replace LA NY Cheesecake but it won't have as much emphasis on the egg and will add a little graham flavor.

Small amount of TFA Eggnog, perhaps?

The problem with eggnog is the very in-your-face nutmeg

Capella Vanilla Custard V1. Eggy and delicious

Flavourart's custard is an eggy italian custard (FA is an Italian company), most other custards are more like american puddings. (This is from HIC's notes, not personal experience. I have FA custard, but haven't opened it yet.)

TFA Dairy/milk at 1-1.5%.

Cheesecake Graham Crust by TFA if you're already using Cap VC1, seems to accentuate the egginess to me.

How has no one suggested Flavorah's Vanilla Custard? Easily the eggiest custard out there, imo.

Interesting, my biggest note from flv is that it's devoid of the egg in that is in cap or fa. Tastes just like pudding to me.

Which custard are you using?

I find CAP Vanilla Custard V2 to be the eggy-ist out of CAP's custards and TFA Vanilla custard.
