MAJOR EDIT: /u/famousdeadperson just made a pretty large donation. These will be on top of what I have offered: 1st place $100 TFA flavors of your choosing, 2nd and 3rd place $50 TFA flavors of your choosing. Thanks so much for your contribution!
Edit: Requirements have been revised, see Rules
Over a week ago I made a thread looking for input on a contest that can be viewed here. There's been a lot of really good feedback and several threads popping up about doing something similar so I'd like to lay some groundwork down to see what works and what doesn't. This could go great and continue into an ongoing monthly thread, or it could be just ravaged by the community but I am TOTALLY ok with that. This is just a little experiment I'd like to try that could grow into something bigger or just something other members can learn from when creating their own contests.
Phase One: Submissions
This thread will be active for submissions for the best recipe of the month of October for SEVEN days. Within this week you may submit your recipe along with any description / details you would like to offer. Some of the best submissions in DIY_eJuice are not the most delicious mixes in the world, but the most informative and descriptive. Combine those two as best you can, submit them within the time frame, and vote on other recipes to your liking.
EDIT: As the community votes do remember that taste will come first!
Phase Two: Top 10
On 10/25/15 this thread will no longer be "active" and a new thread will be created listing the top 10 recipes will be created. This will also be posted on /r/BestofDIYejuice but all voting will be done in the /r/DIY_eJuice thread. The community will have the next three weeks to vote on their favorites from the top ten.
Phase Three: Winners Chosen
Off of the top 10, the top 3 will win a prize and featured in the final post on this sub and /r/BestofDIYejuice where we can get a good collective of community made recipes. There will be a final thread made with the winning recipes. As of right now, all funding for the prizes are provided by me. >A little background in case you feel a bit uneasy, I've donated about $300 of my own money in my "Vendor Appreciation" threads over on ECR months ago and have fulfilled each one in a timely manner.
1st Prize:
$100 TFA gift card via /u/famousdeadperson
$20 gift card via me.
2nd and 3rd prize:
$50 TFA gift card via /u/famousdeadperson
$10 gift card via me.
Thanks agian to /u/famousdeadperson for making the pot a whole lot bigger!
As of right now I can only offer gift cards for Bull City Vapor, however I really would love to support Gremlin DIY and all of the support and activity they have made in this sub and others. They don't seem to have gift cards ready, but if the winners are in the US and choose to use the gift card at GRM, I would be more than happy to pay for the order that your winning's offer AFTER tax then pay for shipping on top of that.
RULES:
-
~~I'm going to start off a bit simple and require a maximum of 5 flavors. If this works out I will adapt this to what ever you guys prefer in the future. If you wish to include more than that amont feel free to include additional ingredients as you wish, but to maximize your chances at winning keep in mind the base 5 flavors will be judged the most.~~ This rule was very unpopular, and in order to maximize the amount of entries I will no longer be using this rule. I feel terrible for changing a rule this big after it's already started but since this is new, I hope you understand I am doing it because of public feedback. I will offer each user who has already submitted a recipe a $10 gift card to Bull City Vapor that can be redeemed within the next 10 business days. They are also welcome to use the same recipe in the original contest.
-
EDIT: no longer required to go off of a list of flavors carried by a vendor. The purpose of this was because while it is growing weekly, they had a considerably lower catalog than others, a way to try to make a level playing field for some of the newer mixers. I'm a huge fan of those guys and they have always treated me right so it just fit. I understand the conflict that makes for some of you guys with some really awesome recipies with less common flavorings and the last thing I want to do is limit the newer guys from trying those. Thanks for your imput and understanding.

There will be no theme for this month's contests so all submissions are welcome as long as they are:
- YOUR original recipe.
- Posted within the rules of the sidebar.
- NOT a clone. It's OK if it tastes like something your trying to clone or happen to accidentally come close to, but I want to avoid any bias if it has the name 5 pawns or whatever in it.
- I will be doing the best I can to see if anyone is stealing recipes but please PM me if you see anything suspicious. If any fraud is found I will remove them from the list and any possible future contests.
I really hope this learning experience helps everyone in the sub find new recipes they want to try and also gives us an Idea of where we want to do in the way of contests. If you would like to add some money to the winnings / sponsor please contact me via PM and maybe we can figure something out together. Thanks for your time and I look forward to seeing this unfold.
This recipe is a reformulated version of my Bangin' Bourbon Bread, posted earlier this month.
Of course, I'm going to start with TFA Banana Cream. This is the exact overripe banana flavor that I look for in banana bread, so it's the main note in this ingredient. Next, I want a nice, moist cinnamon bread for my bread base. FLV Cinnamon Crunch is a fantastic dessert cinnamon that isn't strong, and adds just enough cereal flavor to make the next ingredient feel more "baked." It wouldn't be a bread base if I didn't use INW Biscuit. This is perfect for the sweet bread in banana bread, and plays wonderfully with the other ingredients. Truly a staple flavor for any homemade pastry base. Finish that off with a small amount of FA Joy to give it a bit more sweetness, and to highlight the biscuit flavor. Next is the nut flavor. This one was a bit difficult, because I don't have an actual walnut flavor, ~~and cutting the mix down to 5 ingredients doesn't allow me to~~ so I will emulate a walnut flavor using my other nuts. I like the sweet, mellow flavor from FA Almond to help get the flesh of the walnut, with FW hazelnut adding in a sweet, earthy flavor. FLV Peanut Butter in small amounts just to make it feel more "nutty." A hint of butterscotch to help make the flavor of the moist crust on top of the banana bread, and we're almost done. TFA Kentucky Bourbon is what makes this better than other banana nut breads. The flavors of bourbon go extremely well with bananas, cinnamon, nuts, butterscotch, and really any sweet pastry. This brings the recipe to a whole new level, adding complexity and character that is hard to match with other finishing ingredients.
- 6% TFA Banana Cream
- 2% FLV Cinnamon Crunch
- 1.25% INW Biscuit
- .5% FA Joy
- 2d/10mL (~.4%) FA Almond
- 2d/10mL (~.4%) FW Hazelnut
- 1d/10mL (~.2%) FLV Peanut Butter
- .5% FLV Butterscotch
- 1.25% TFA Kentucky Bourbon
This is slightly different from the original thread I posted above, as I added and tweaked some things that I felt need to be changed. This is not so much over powering banana sitting on a sweet base, but more of equal parts banana and sweet bread, with a hint of nuts and finished off with a sip of an oaky bourbon. ~~That's five flavors, and one bangin' eliquid. For additional depth in this liquid, you can check out the original thread posted above.~~
Blueberry Cheesecake
I made this recipe as a wild guess and then modified it once and this is what i got. It's a very satisfying and flavorful vape. The blueberry is there but sits right behind the creams. The crust of the cheesecake is perceivable as well but not overpowering. I would love to try this recipe with FA Bilberry (which will have to wait till next month) but TFA Wild Blueberry actually plays super nice with the creams in this mix.

Total: 14% I prefer it at around 80VG/20PG and after at least 4 days steep. If you plan to shake and vape you're just gonna get like a mild blueberry cream. I vape on a sig150xVelocity at around 65 watts on 12 wrap dual 24g.

Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!
This recipe was intended to clone a popular Ice Cream flavor known as "BlueMoon Ice Cream", which tastes like a marshmallowy mess of blueberry and french vanilla rounded out with a little hint of coconut. This is my best attempt at recreating the genuine article, but ultimately this vape has turned itself into something else all together. It's not a perfect match of the ice-cream's true flavor profile but this vape has become a 'must have on hand' for me.
I DEMAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR BEING THE FIRST SUMBISSION
> I'm going to start off a bit simple and require a maximum of 5 flavors.
This rule is going to fuck me too.
Ughh I feel you. The initial thought was to make it so if someone new wanted to try a few of the recipies they wouldn't have to purchase every flavor under the sun. Unfortunately I think it would be unfair for me to change a rule that big now that there have been entry's. But if I can have your opinion I'd appreciate it. I want to amend it so your recipie will be the 5 base flavors required, but feel free to add extra flavors seperate from your initial post to complete your recipie. Would you be ok with that?
Huh?...You've confused me. Limited to 5 flavors, but you can add as many as you'd like in another post? I don't see where it's a recipe, with just the 5 ingredients, if you then have to add a bunch more flavors to make it into something palatable. So, is it a free-for-all on the ingredients, or is it limited to 5?
Figured I would post my submission now, as it takes a week to steep. Very thick, creamy, delicious blueberry custard. FA Bilberry is one of my favorite blueberry concentrates, the floral note on it really turns down after a week Blueberry wild works to round off the harsher notes of FA Bilberry to tone it down to the level of the strength of the vanilla custard.
Freshly steeped, the blueberries will be slightly floral still and upfront, give it time to blend together into a smooth mix.

Here's a simple recipe I came up with a few days ago. Go easy on me I'm just beginning! I've just been using it as a shake and vape mix and it tastes pretty good to me.
TFA - Honeydew - 3%
TFA - Mango - 5%
TFA - Bavarian Cream - 4%
I have a limited amount of flavors right now but let me know if you guys have any recommendations!
RY Whore:
I don't see very many tobacco recipes anymore, and many need weeks of steeping and/or wreck coils so here's one that is good right away, is fairly clear and easy on coils and your cotton. I also think it's pretty well balanced and even people who don't usually vape tobacco juice will enjoy.
FA- RY4 - 2%
FW- Vanilla Tobacco - 2%
FE- RY4 - 1%
FW- Salted Caramel - 1%
FA- Catalan Cream - 1%
FLV- Cured tobacco - 0.5%
FLV- Coconut V1 - 0.5%
Optional: TFA- Smooth - 0.5%
So for some notes, FA Ry4 has a good sweet caramel ry4 profile, but is pretty light on any real tobacco flavors so I paired it with FE ry4 that has a much dirtier tobacco flavor. FW Vanilla Tobacco smells delicious and I think it also works well here to add depth as a whole. Finally to complete the tobacco profile I used flv (flavorah if that's not the correct abbreviation) cured tobacco to finally bring it all together, it's an awesome tobacco flavor and probably my favorite, it's the heart of the tobacco profile. FE salted caramel is one of my favorite caramel flavors that works more like a caramel syrup, adding sweetness and a light caramel without overpowering everything else like a lot of other caramel flavors I've tried. FA Catalan Cream is great in tobaccos imo and adds creaminess while also adding body and a caramel spiciness that just works well to balance tobaccos out. Similarly, FLV Coconut (V1), I haven't tried v2 but to my knowledge it's just stronger, adds body and a toastiness to the flavor, other coconuts would probably work similarly, but I really like this one so it's what I used. Tfa Smooth is optional, I think it helps to meld sharp tobacco flavors together and well, Smooth out the profile, but it doesn't really add anything perse and it's still good without it in there. End scene!
Raspberry Custard
This seems like the place to post my best original. I hardly ever post my recipes because, well, they seemed inadequate. But not this one! I have been tweaking this for the last couple of months. It is by far the best representation of any raz custard that I have tried. The factor that brought it together for me was the combo of the 2 raspberries. TFA is good, just too light on it's own, and INW is pretty stout. Perfect together. The meringue gives it the sweetness, the fresh cream gives smoothness, and we know there's only one VC to use when going for perfection. The FA Apple pie gives that crusty goodness. I've left out or subbed at all different %, and this is what works best for me.
Cap Vanilla Custard V1 5%
FA Apple Pie 2%
INW Raspberry 1%
TFA Sweet Raspberry 2%
FA Fresh Cream 1%
FA Meringue 1%
Needs at least 4 days to come together, really best from 10 days on.
Shit! This reminded me that I need to mix this tomorrow. I'll try to remember to give feedback here next week.
Might as well submit something!
Grape Drank
Ingredient|% :---|---: Cactus (INAWERA)|0.4 Grape (LA) clear|7 Koolada 10% (TPA)|0.5 Watermelon (Clear) (LA)|2
Flavor total: 9.9%
I stumbled upon this almost by accident. I had wanted to pick up some various grape flavors to try my hand at a PB&J, and after I got the LA Grape Colorless, I instantly thought of grape koolade. I thought there was a little bit lacking from the flavor, and I ended up adding in a bit of LA Watermelon (also colorless) to round out the flavor a bit, and it helped a lot.
After that, I added some koolada to give it the feeling of being served with a glass full of ice. Once that was in there, the flavor was great, but I wanted to add a little more punch to the mouthfeel so I added in a bit of INW Cactus to give it some juicyness.
90% of the people I have try this mix say it's awesome, even the guys at my local vape shop who are constantly trying new juice, so I realized I was on to something pretty great here.
Give it a shot!
My submission is an apple funnel cake. A nice sweet Apple is the predominant flavor with a light sweet funnel cake underneath.

1% FA pear

Apple is definitely the forefront flavor here. I find the combination of Fuji, Apple, and pear give it a realistic feel here. The breadyness is more of an undertone flavors with just a hint of cinnamon. I haven't tried this without the sucralose but I find at .5% it adds a nice sweetness and doesn't negatively affect the coils much.
I present Creamy Peach Yogurt:
- Creamy Yogurt 5% (Cap)
- Meringue .5% (Cap)
- Marshmallow 1% (TFA)
- Juicy Peach 3.5% (TFA)
- Orange Cream .5% (TFA)

Taste good and I like it, why not share it an possible win some money too! Thanks for hosting this sweet contest by the way.
Interesting idea but I would like to see something similar to this without a cap on number of flavors and having to use GrimlinDIY.
The 5 flavor thing I can sorta understand, keep it for beginners and all.
But limiting it to a vendor's inventory? I just don't understand the logic behind it.
sooo.... basically you're just saying remove those restrictions. I disagree with the gremlin part but the 5 flavor limit is a good idea. maybe 6 flavors though.
I'm really excited to be a part of this! Thanks for hosting the contest.

I posted a similar recipe a few weeks ago asking for suggestions. Since then, I have been playing with the recipe and doing multiple variations. I have found just how I want it to be. I wouldn't say there is really a 'star' of this recipe; the flavors come through pretty independent of each other. The exception being peanut butter, it is mainly used to add body but a hint of the taste is still there. This is a very mild tobacco recipe, much more of a dessert than a tobacco. Sweet, rich, and nutty with a full bodied feel.
The black honey tobacco has a rich honey taste to it, nothing like Tfa honey. It is an excellent mild tobacco flavor. When paired with the caramel and marzipan, it keeps its honey taste with added sweetness and nuttiness. The banana cream blends excellently with this sweet, slightly nutty profile. The banana comes through quite nicely, it is not suffocated, nor overbearing, it's just right. And finally, the peanut butter. I originally wanted peanut butter to be a big part of this recipe. I tried many variations with different percentages of it, high and low percentages. At high percentages, the peanut butter really overtakes this recipe and transforms it into a peanut butter with a hit of sweetness. Lower percentages are great for peanut butter in this recipe and I decided at .5% it does its job perfectly. At .5%, the peanut butter adds body and nuttiness which really helps add to the profile of the other flavors
On the inhale and exhale, I get a nice full bodied feel, which I attribute to the peanut butter and black honey tobacco. For flavors on the inhale, I get the caramel, a bit of banana, and a hit peanut butter. And on the exhale, I get a rich honey taste complimented by banana and a lingering taste of the sweetness and nuttiness from marzipan. Pretty good as a shake and vape, even better after a couple days of steeping. Give it a try and let me know. I love this recipe.
Interesting. I'm looking forward to trying this out, but I'm not a fan of TFA Caramel over a few drops. I'll try it as you have it, then maybe sub it with some of INW caramel. I generally like theirs with tobacco types a bit more.
Let me know what you think please :).
My brother is the same way with tfa caramel and he doesn't like it more than .5% usually. He said the caramel didn't bother him any in this recipe, so I'm hoping it doesn't come as off-putting to you at 1.3%. I never have tried INW caramel; maybe it'll be an excellent sub. Definitely interested in how the INW caramel does in this recipe.
Geez, I guess I should go down the list and down vote everyone, just like everyone else has been doing. Everyone is at 0, except kevtastic...musta been some of his friends??
Completely aware of the situation. Dont worry, there is a plan B, but haven't exhausted ever tool for plan A yet. The community has a choice on what it wants to be. It can either let this fail, or help participate and self regulate itself. If we cant do that then the less popular plan B will start... But I still believe in the sub.
It can either let this fail, or help participate and self regulate itself
What can I do to help? Anything? I don't know Reddit really well, is there some kind of way to find out who went on the down vote party, or is it impossible to tell? Whats funny is that it seems to be 2 votes that each submission lost. Can the history be tracked?
Damn it, this is why we can't have nice shit!!!
Well, I pulled my recipe off here, but let me know if you get it straightened out and I'll put it back up
Whats with splitting the subreddit up? I think it would be better to put it in the sidebar rather than have another subreddit.
I came up with this the other day, I call it Watermango Grapeade. The name sucks. The juice doesn't.
Ingredient | % ---|--- Grape Juice TFA | 6% Watermelon TFA | 3% Mango TFA | 2% Koolada TFA | 3% Citrus Punch TFA | 2% Sour TFA | 2%
It's a tasty, soda-type juice, has a nice amount of tang to it due to the Citrus Punch, and the sour and koolada really help give it that "tall glass of bubbling fizzy drink" feeling.
The mango helps give it just a slight mango flavour, which is what it needed. Originally I had it without the mango and it was just missing something. This gives it that little bit of smoothness/creaminess. (hard to explain, but there it is)
Watermelon is a very strong flavour by TFA, and you don't need much of it. The main flavours in this vape are watermelon and grape. The grape is strong, and bold, with a bit of bite to it thanks to the sour. The watermelon is present, but smooth, an underlying tone to finish off this fruity concoction.
All in all I'm pretty happy with it, it's the second recipe I've come up with on my own, and the first which I have actually enjoyed thoroughly.

I'm not a huge fan of putting EM or Sucralose in my juice, but I feel like it could also benefit from EM. This was mixed at 30/70VG @ 3mg.
This is more or less based off of a Tropical Orange-Guava Punch, which calls for orange sherbet, guava nectar, and lemon-lime soda.
I'm a huge fan of Sweet Guava, so I wanted it to be the main note. It's a very sweet and distinct flavor.
For the orange sherbet, I used Sweet Tangerine and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The VBIC can quickly turn into exactly what it is... ice cream, so I tried to keep it low to avoid this.
The Lemon-Sicily and Lime Tahiti are what makes up the lemon-lime soda. I am currently out of Champagne and I believe it could help this pop, so please if anyone tries this experiment. I'll be getting it back soon.
This is only the 4th revision of this recipe and i'm liking where it's going. It definitely not for everyone, but i'm really digging it so far. Hopefully you will too. If not, please don't hesitate to give feedback, criticism, and suggestions!
Oh, and this is a pretty good shake and vape, but improves after a few days of steeping.
Edit: mistyped a few percentages. It's up to date now.
Hey guys!
Haven't shared many recipes with you all yet, but today I'll leave you with the recipe for my juice named Milkin' It.
The profile is a strawberry milk, sweet to the taste, like a nice cold bottle of Strawberry Nesquik. Please allow at least a week of steeping for a finished product.
Milkin' It
4% strawberry ripe TFA 3.5% fresh cream FA 3% strawberry organic TFA 1.5% sugar cookie CAP 1% cheesecake graham crust TFA
13% flavoring add 7% PG Fill remaining 80% with VG and your preferred nicotine solution(optional).

:-)
I've gotta ask... is there anything similar to Strawberry Organic to replace while I wait for it? Look solid though!
You could try upping the strawberry ripe to around 6 or 6.5%, but would be missing a bit of that "shine".
Thanks I appreciate it. I'll give it a go, but I'll give it a real shot when I get my Strawberry Organic. I've been Jonesin for a nesquick recipe. For some reason I've never been able to make one and its terribly frustrating. I tossed you a voted. Good luck!
Yellow Dragons Breath:
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 3.5%
Yellow Cake (FW) 1%
Dragon Fruit (CAP) 7%
Kiwi & Strawberry (CAP) 5.5%
Sweet Cream (TFA) 2%
This started off as a Dragon Blood clone on ELR but I found the dragon fruit over powering & not to my taste. So I added the kiwi/strawberry to tone it down & reduced the dragon fruit. But there was still something missing by way of mouth feel and texture.
I tweeked the percentages here & there but was never really happy. Then I got my 1st bottle of yellow cake in mail, gave it a sniff & my first thought was 'this is what yellow dragon needs!'. I hadn't even ever tasted YC before & just added 2%. Big mistake, the whole flavour was over powered by the YC but added mouth feel. Next batch I reduced the YC to 1% & that hit the spot nicely.
Needs at least 3 days steepin, better after a week.
In reference to Submissions...I, personally, prefer a recipe that taste good and not one that is described well. I can describe a turd quite well, but it's still a turd.

Inhale - basic chocolate and vanilla taste, may be harsh to some but just like when you first started vaping it passes and you get the full flavor of it on the exhale.
Exhale - The magic happens here, the exhale gives you the exact and immediate taste of the ice cream that's left over in the bowl after you've eaten your tasty treat; The best of it all, super smooth and creamy, rich but not overpowering and you always want more. You know what I mean, you've got your face buried in the bowl lapping away trying to get every last drop and when you are finished you have that tiny little spot of ice cream on your nose to wipe off, be honest... :P

2% TFA graham cracker (clear)
1% FW yellow cake
1% TFA vanilla bean ice cream
1% FA hazelnut
0,5% TFA acetyl pyrazine
0,5% TFA ripe banana
A very tasty banana nut bread/muffin vape. TFA banana nut bread is the main banana flavor here, with TFA banana ripe to help bring out that banana. For the bread/muffin taste, I opted for TFA graham cracker (clear) and AP. The hazelnut obviously brings that nutty tone to the mix, with some help from the AP. TFA vanilla bean ice cream is there to give it a creamier taste, make it feel a little less dry and add some depth. And finally FW yellow cake, which is kinda like that guy in a sports team who you never see, but makes everything work together. It adds a bit to the vanilla and sweetness, and gives it that cakey "moistness" feel you get from a nut bread or muffin.
Hope you guys enjoy it!

I like it! as promised, here's yo vote!
Woo! Anything you'd change or add? Be honest, bb.
Gurrrrl you know it! I'm not really sure here. Have your tried any other pineapples? INW or CAP Golden? TFA Pineapple is a little pungent. I think the rest is good, maybe something to sweeten it a little. It's relatively sweet as-is but have you tried maybe TFA Marshmallow or some EM? Not sure how TFA would interact with FA marshmallow. Also, I'm wondering if Dragonfruit would bring to the table here, the pineapple is there but slightly muddled by the marshmallow. Are you getting much of the Banana Cream on yours? It's a little lost in the mix I think.
Anywho, just brainstorming lol! Really good though. Been vaping it for a few hours now.
Well I finished the 30mL I made, lol. I'm loving it. Still going to try a little Vienna, but the pineapple mellows out after a day and it gets really good.
Haha holy shit that was fast. Glad to see someone liking it!
Side question, how long does it take your juice to clear up at 1% TFA pineapple? I've got a few mixes with 3-5% and it's taken roughly 6ish days.
Man I love TFA pineapple but I had to get a glass syringe to work with that beast.
What do you mean by "clear up"?
Everything I mix TFA pineapple with comes out slightly cloudy. Percentage doesn't seem to matter and when I mix with the same flavors and omit it, it doesn't get cloudy. I assumed it was something in the pineapple originally because its extremely caustic (hence why I use a glass syringe for it now). That thing chews threw the rubber stoppers on plastic syringes in seconds.
What's with the other post, are we submitting to this one or the other one?
the YUNG SAUCE VILLAINS present:
Ingredient | % ---|--- Coconut Extra (TPA) | 2% Greek Yogurt (TPA) | 5% Mango (TPA) | 5% Pineapple (TPA) | 5%
After months of intensive research with a group of three young mixologists (the yung sauce villains), this is our best flavor.
Out of the dozens of recipes we have tried, we still vape this the most.
Something about Coconut Extra and Greek Yogurt together creates the perfect yogurt base. We then combined mango and pineapple in equal amounts. At first, this was a random choice to try and create a fruity yogurt but after deriving the flavor we found that the mango becomes a base for the pineapple and accentuates it.
If you like this, but want it a bit creamier, use 2.5% Creamy Yogurt (CAP) and 2.5% Greek Yogurt (TPA).
You may want to consider not allowing people to submit their own recipes. Instead, I'd make it a requirement that a recipe be submitted by someone else. Just like what was done with the "Best Recipe of 2014" thread

Delicious, warm, chocolate doughnut vape. Very bready taste, mix it up for yourself! CAP CGD is the main player here, very great chocolate doughnut flavor that is further bolstered by the supporting flavors.
This puts me in a rough place because your recipie IS different than Bronuts and I'm sure some people will rip me a new asshole regardless of the legitimacy of this post, but I'll gladly take any heat out of respect of the original creator. This post will be disqualified, but dont let that discourage you from making an original recipe. Thank you.
I guess a good idea. But who are you to decide the rules? You haven't posted a recipe in over a month. And I just mixed up whatever that lime custard pineapple recipe you had is called... It's not that good. Sounds like you just took a few flavors that taste good and threw them together. And honestly that's probably the worst thing about this sub. It's very easy to throw together something that tastes good. It's a lot harder to know what you want and make that. Plus everyone who is good at doing that and then starts posting recipes that are delicious then stops and opens a juice line. Mark my words, Wayne is working on a line right now and it'll be out by spring. Why else hasn't he posted recipe using FLV?Especially since now Botboy is to FLV what HIC was to FA. And who can blame them? People say "hey I want to start a business... Blah blah blah". "A local b&m wants me to design a juice line. Any ideas?" "What recipes are in your daily rotation?" And then you check their post history and they've posted nothing. Nobody really helps each other here, nobody says let's all work on this together, here's my starting point, let's work on this til it's perfected an it'll be the communities recipe. Everyone is just like, "here's v1 of some shit I threw together and the flavor bible says 2 of these flavors work and Wayne said biscuit tastes like butter so I put that in too." It's frustrating. Anyway,, good luck and good idea, but unless people are going to work together it's either gonna be a list of old recipes or a big ol' shitpile. The best recipe I ever found on this sub is by someone who doesn't even post frequently, I have no idea how they got everything to work the way it does, and I still owe them a shoutout post so I won't say what it is til I do that.
Looks like your reply would be worth a self post. I understand where you are coming from with your concerns about the state of the sub and maybe they should be heard out side of a random thread. I will respond to your criticism that you have in the first few sentences though.
> Who am I to make the rules?
There is a link I want you take a look at in the first sentence in the post. It will link you to the brainstorming thread where people replied with their idea's along with some PM's that directed me to the results you see here. I tried to heavily imply that this is more or less a test for other's in the choices of how they handle their contests. These rules would be subject to change for any further attempts to get this particular contest working... And as an edit, they have changed to better fit the subs interest.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I did, that's why I shared it. I really enjoy FA's Cucumber and after some work that's what I came up with. Do you have any experience with it you would like to share? I'd like to get back to the flavor but was happy where I left off. I think I've only shared about 5-10 recipes total within self posts and comments but If I don't fit your criteria than I guess it's a good thing that I don't choose any of the winners. The community does.
Judging from your post you sound a bit disgruntled. I hope that you have a better day and can resolve some of the issues you are having within the community.
I hope you were captain of your high school's debate team, Chris :D
I don't have a juice "line" coming, and all the juices that I'll be selling, the recipe will be right there on it. And I have used FLV in a few recipes, they're just new flavorings to me, though I don't understand what that has to do with having a juice line.
I'm pretty sure his point is that he's seen a number of people trawling this sub as a way to get recipes to make their own line, to make money off of other people's recipes. It isn't anything new, it was happening a couple years ago when I joined up here. We've seen a number of current vendors get a start here, and we've also caught just as many trying to get recipes out of users under false pretenses.
Another point of his, and one I agree with, is that the sub doesn't encourage experimentation anywhere near as much as it used to. If someone is looking for help with a recipe, they're usually directed towards a core of about 10 flavors that the sub prefers whether or not it would actually help the recipe or fit with the profile they're going towards.
