Call me FrostyFace.

As I was opening up a new 10 ml bottle of FW Menthol, and I noticed that there was a dripper tip on the bottle opening. I was confused; I measure by volume using syringes, so how the heck am I supposed to do that with a dripping tip on the bottle of flavoring?

I tried to pull it off with my gloved finger, but that didn't work. I had a set of pliers in the other room, but I didn't want to have to take off my gloves and put on a new pair just to get plier. Naturally, I went at it with my teeth. Clenching the drip tip in my jaw, I jerked the tip off (shut up) and out of the neck of the bottle, which flicked a good amount of menthol droplets onto the right side of my face, from just below my goggles to the corner of my lip. "No biggie", I thought; "I can just lick this off the corner of my mouth to test the potency". Big mistake. My tongue did a great job of smearing what was quickly turning into fiery-cold hell all over the side of my mouth, and now into my mouth.

10 minutes and a frantic shower later, I was feeling pretty much back to normal with little to no menthol freeze.

So, PSA to all those idiots like me who don't think twice before licking a flavor concentrate: DON'T FUCK WITH FW MENTHOL AROUND YOUR FACE. Really, please exercise caution with flavorings, even if you think that nothing could possibly go wrong.

Stay safe, guys n' gals.

Good PSA mate. And sorry to hear you went through this! The one thing I learned from other peoples' trial and error early on:

When handling nic or menthol, gloves, protective eyewear, clean unobstructed work conditions, and all your tools handy and near by are a requirement, not an option.

Heck yeah, that stuff feels caustic as heck. By the way, do any of your menthol flavors mess with syringes? I don't know if you still mix by volume or not, but I noticed that my syringe nearly seemed... warped after using it with that bottle of nic, and it wouldn't draw liquid properly. Have you ever noticed anything of the sort?

Menthol is the only thing I don't mix by weight; I use a 50% mixture of menthol I make myself from crystals (50% crystals, 50% pg, by weight, warmed up to dissolve). It doesn't allow me to be very accurate gram measuring, but I'm comfortable doing x amount of drops per 15ml kind of stuff. Usually only 1 or 2 drops per 15ml; I store my menthol mix in a... 50ml dripper bottle! :D

You know what, I probably should have kept the tip on the bottle of menthol, huh?

Haha oh yeah, I totally forgot about him. Probably best to not repeat his mistake unless you like your air to be funnelcake grease flavored.

I actually have a patented move for biting dropper tips off. Hold it steady with two hands and slowly pull away with your head.

Again, syringes suck.

Take off the syringe's plunger, drip the amount you need into the needle, put the plunger back and there you go. Or use a pair of long noses to remove the dropper top.

The syringe idea is good, but putting the plunger back in would force all the liquid right out again. Next time I'm just going to keep some pliers handy.

Put the plunger back with the syringe over your eliquid bottle. If you don't have a steady hand you can just hold the bottle at the same time. That's what I used to do when I mixed by volume. Goes faster than the "conventional' method too.

With that said, you might also wanna look into mixing by weight. I pushed it back for over a year but I finally made the switch and it's so much easier. Worth every penny spent on the scale.
