~~hey all,~~
~~i do reviews [sometimes] for ejuices (and mods, when i get them) & lately, im finding myself trying to figure out the ingredients used in them.~~
~~Some ingredients are really simple to decipher (TFA juicy peach, or LA Strawberry Kiwi). do you guys think it would be okay to mention it in my review, or should i leave it out (in order to preserve the juice maker's "secret recipe")?~~
Or am i just being cocky & should i just shut the fuck up?
EDIT: by look of the downvotes, i see that i should just STFU
Casual non-DIYers will not probably not care about specific names of flavors but you can use your knowledge of these source flavors to detect notes not mentioned by the company and add those to reviews.
As far as protecting secret recipes there are already enough people trying to openly clone commercial juice on here and elsewhere so this issue seems minor in comparison. Not to mention... if it's really that easy for you to pick out a certain flavor how secret is the secret recipe?
> if it's really that easy for you to pick out a certain flavor
well im really new to DIY, so i would say that its pretty easy.
Pft just fuckin wait for a year or two down the road. You're gunna walk into B&Ms, your best bud workin the shop that night is gunna hand you a bottle of their newest juice they just brought in the other day. You'll crack it open, smell it, name off 3-5 flavors, drip it, name off those same flavours, drip it again, name off some other notes, then put it down & go back to your DIY because you don't like their shit recipe. Every. Friggin'. Time.
Can i have your PayPal email? I can spare 2 cents

You're at +19 on my screen, by look of the upvotes, go for it. I say if the company releases flavors that taste cheap and recipes that you can tell they put no time into, they don't deserve the secrecy.
:)
Speaking of cheap recipes, have you tried Taffy Man? I don't think I've ever been so angry just from tasting a juice than I was after trying Taffy Man. Fuckin' strawberry and sweetener.
Did you sh...I'm kidding. I think for review purposes you could have like a diy section of the reviewwhere you talk about the flavor notes you taste if the people don't like it they can frig off and skip thay part. I'd be interested in it. As for secret formulas. If you can break it down then it isn't a secret formula.
> Did you sh...I'm kidding.
-_-
It really was an honest mistake but it's what your famous for in the diy world. Once you make the next big recipe everyone will forget all about it.
lmao, im nowhere near making a recipe that i feel confident enough to share.
I still have to finish sampling each individual flavor that i own (i have like 100).
EDIT: and i blame /u/drmclovens for the infamy (i wont ever let him forget it)
Has anyone tried Unicorn Puffs by Butters E-juice? I got some in the ecr exchange and I swear on my momma that it is Mustard Milk. I loaded my tank up with it and I instantly recognized that it's TPA strawberry and VBIC. I'm pretty sure they just jacked the Mustard Milk recipe.
Share your beautiful gift with the world!..... or at least with us.
I think it's a good idea even if you aren't 100% sure. There are prob numerous DIY'ers (myself included) who taste store-bought juice and think they might recognize some of the flavors but are not yet confident enough to post about it. If someone like you does, it may confirm it for another DIY'er and help them build confidence in their own ability to pick out flavors.
On a related note i was discussing with my buddies at work: has anyone thought of using a spectrometer to see the chemical makeup of a juice to cross reference with the chemical makeup of the flavorings? I'm sure someone has access to a university that has one.
Personally I would say do what you want as long as your 100% sure. If its that easy to tell what it is then its not a secret recipe. As a juice maker, I would say STFU...LOL
Not at all %100 sure
I see you everywhere now!
Personally I would just review them and leave it as that - Only because you will loose your rep if you are wrong.
