ELR TOP 5 (The Recipe)
submitted almost 10 years ago by pandaweb

So just for fun I took the top 5 flavors on ELR, cut their average mixing quantity in half and made a recipe out of it. I will try to make it tomorrow and report back. If not, early next week.

ELR TOP 5 (The Recipe)

Ingredient|% :---|---: Bavarian Cream (TPA)|1.8 Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)|3.05 ~~Sweat~~ Sweet cream (TPA)|1.3 Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)|3.05 Vanilla Swirl (TPA)|1.6

Flavor total: 10.8%

> Sweat cream (TPA)

That sounds very unpleasant.

It could possibly smell better than TPA Sweet Cream.

I think fresh cream by FA is even worse smelling, but oh so good to vape.

I don't know what it is, but I just love the taste of TFA Sweet Cream.

Haha! What's odd is that it copied itself like that from ELR. But in the ELR recipe it's spelled correctly.

This is hilariously awesome.

I was looking at using collaborative filtering ("Netflix prize" stuff) to autocreate recipes. Didn't work at all in terms of being tasty but balance of flavors was decent. Probably can be done tho with better code.

I can see that working. Using existing top rated recipes, map which flavors are usually used together and average percentages to create something new. But then again, it might not come up with anything really new. I like the idea though.

The collaborative filter works by looking at actual flavor-connections and not just percentages. So if A&B&C go well together and B&C&D do too, it might assume to try A&C&D. It uses vector mapping to make assumptions. Just like how Netflix recommends movies to you based on what you like and have rated highly.

But flavors aren't movies and my code is amateurish so the recipes were really wild or really boring. A lot of 5 vanilla flavors or 4 custards and a strawberry.

Wish I had the time to work on it more because I think it would actually he amazing to create unique flavor combos, but the time to enter known good recipes is too much. I would need around 500 gold recipes as a starter set, I think.

I've been playing around with this for ideas for new liquids: https://www.ibmchefwatson.com/ - as it pairs flavors together, let's you know their compatibility ratings, etc. I haven't come up with a real winner just yet, but it's more fun than the flavor bible, IMO.

This.

The answer was right in front of us the whole time. Sweat cream was the missing link.

Ironically I'm currently vaping DIY unicorn milk. I literally, can't even.

This actually doesn't sound bad. Probably a little too 'eggy' for my taste from the vanilla custard and Bavarian cream but I'm curious in how this turns out

I'm super curious to see how this turns out. It looks pretty good. Almost like a Unicorn Milk flavor.
